Thank you everyone :)

I spent my whole pregnancy with it at the back of my mind. And after his birth I was wondering and now this weight has been lifted and I can get busy nurturing my little boy and not worrying how he'll be affected growing up!

slithytove · 11/09/2014 23:27

I'm pissed off.

Due date tm, pressure to have baby by Sunday night, and no real signs.

1 cm dilated and cervix is soft, but that means nothing really.

Plus I'm very, very grumpy. DH is doing my head in and I REALLY want an argument.

Anyone else in the same boat?

slithytove · 11/09/2014 23:28

Sorry cookie, I missed your great news in my pointless whining - am really pleased for you, what a relief Thanks

velvetlilithi · 12/09/2014 01:12

slithylove I feel the same, although I have still 2 weeks left (37+6 today). Every day just hope for some progress, for some sign to tell me I'm getting closer. I really thought I will enjoy the last weeks, didn't know it's so torturing though!!

And all the pains that actually means nothing?? Grrr ... Today (ups, already yesterday) went to hospital for partners antenatal evening, 45 minutes walk one way and then back, got pretty bad cramps due to PGP. Hoped it might help baby to come but nothing yet. What I hate the most on PGP is that it doesn't actually matter if I'm doing something or walking, I get the cramps even sitting, lying, sleeping or just standing. And for last week it's really been becoming unbearable.
Lack of sleep isn't helping at all.

cookielove · 12/09/2014 01:25

Arygh he won't sleep

holls2000 · 12/09/2014 06:46

cookie sorry I didn't say anything about your fab news yesterday Smile hope you got some sleep

6 days to go till section. I find I sleep lots in the day, but find sleeping at night v difficult - my mind races, it hurts to turn over and I need to wee every hour Sad

the house needs cleaning and I haven't got the energy to do it.

am v weepy too - hope after pre op on mon that this is replaced by a zen like calm Grin

ella hope all going well.

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 06:52

Who's putting pressure on you slithy? It's so annoying when people do that, as though we don't really want these babies out ourselves! I've been getting daily texts from MIL since 39+3, I think I've done amazingly well to remain civil!

And sympathies with the PGP velvet, I have that too and it's really awful sometimes.

AlwaysandForever09 · 12/09/2014 07:49

Thats good news cookie hope you managed to get some more sleep too!
1 day overdue now :( had a lovely pedicure yesterday though, wish I had something booked like this everyday to take my mind of it all! Not had any signs at all, and really not wanting to go too overdue as it's gonna be another big baby! :( not seeing midwife till next thurs for attempt sweep, but no idea about an induction date if that doesn't do anything. Shes away this week so saw her last week, will be so dissapointed if things are still the same this time next week!

Good luck ella hope things are happening for you, or that you've had your little girl already!

Anyone else in labour?

Velvet PGP is awful I've had it for the last 2 months its horrible, I"ve been seeing a chiropractor and it has defiantly helped, I also saw physio but I only got two apts though once my midwife referred me, and they wouldn't see me past 38 weeks whereas chiropractor will see me right upto when I eventually give birth! and after if neeeded.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 08:06

My god I'm so nervous, in taxi to hospital, today's induction day eek

TeamEponine · 12/09/2014 08:16

Good luck missbright!!!

slithytove · 12/09/2014 08:22

It's no one specific, but my midwife who I love and is meant to be doing my homebirth, goes on holiday on Monday. I really want her there as she is the one I trust to get me through it. Also my mum is meant to be on holiday with friends in Spain as of Saturday, and every day I go past that, she is missing it (to be my childcare).

So not proper pressure but it would certainly be best if I could deliver before Monday morning.

slithytove · 12/09/2014 08:23

Good luck missbright!

velvetlilithi · 12/09/2014 08:34

Good luck missbright !!

Beccus · 12/09/2014 08:59

good luck missbrightside, hope everything is going well for ella. my due date today and I have woken woth no baby and a cold. rubbish! dd1 is in nursery, so I am going to call my mum in oz and whinge to her and lie on the sofa watching breaking bad all day. I bet baby wont come while I am sick....at least I only have 2 more weeks max to go now

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 09:20

Grin Watching Breaking Bad is a great way to spend the day, have you seen them all yet or just working your way through?

Good luck missbrightside.

And I see what you mean velvet, last week (my 39th) both DM and DS had the week off - it would've been perfect baby sitting wise for DC2 to come then. Unless DC2 comes overnight or over the weekend it will be a bit more complicated now, and we may have to face DH looking after her if neither of them can.

slithytove · 12/09/2014 09:27

We are making our way through breaking bad on Netflix ATM, it's just brilliant. Half way through season 3 now.

Since it's my due date today though and it's all about the eviction techniques, I'm avoiding it tonight as I always sit there all tense, it doesn't promote happy hormones! Going to go for a glass of wine and a stand up comedian I think instead.

What do you reckon - it's my due date, I'm 1cm, no real signs of labour.

I'm having acupuncture this morning, reflexology this afternoon, curry tonight, hopefully lots of laughs, and hell, I'll even have a shag. What are my chances of it all working Grin

CumbrianExile · 12/09/2014 10:52

Good luck MissBright

Good news Cookie, hope you got him to sleep eventually!

I was watching breaking bad when I went into labour! My waters broke early hours of Tuesday morning, went into hospital, but got sent home to wait for labour to start (with induction booked for Wednesday pm if nothing happened). Spent the Tues evening watching breaking bad on netflix (1/2 way through season 3) and labour started as I was watching, so it may help!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 11:05

Thanks ladies x been here since half 8 & on the CTG now, going to be examined soon to see if they can start me off. Will they give me a sweep first or? Not sure what to expect x

Beccus · 12/09/2014 11:28

breaking bad is awesome, haven't seen it before. great news it inspired labor :) I moved from lovefilm to netflix in preparation for baby, but have already watched loads of things (homeland, the killing, the bridge). need more recommendations as not sure what to watch next.

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 11:41

Really can't tell Beccus, with DD I didn't have any signs whatsoever and just woke up in labour. I think out of everything you're doing sex is the best bet - there's prostaglandins in the semen that are the same hormones they actually use in some of the medical inductions. Plus oxytocin is meant to help as well. I'd try it myself but DH won't touch me with a barge pole...
Have you watched Game of Thrones yet? Though thinking about it it's prob not the best thing for labour...

Sorry but really not sure missbrightside. I thought sweeps are meant to be the first step but wouldn't have thought you'd need to go into hospital for one as it's something your MW can do, plus I thought they'd then leave it 36 hours before either trying again or going onto the next stage.

I've made a decision today that from now on I am approaching this whole overdue thing in a completely different way. Instead of being miserable and feeling sorry for myself every day about how I'm not in labour yet I'm instead going to focus on being optimistic that today definitely will be the day! I've been having a lot more pressure and pain down below today so I'm pretty sure that definitely means contractions will be starting soon. Wink

xxmissbrightsidexx · 12/09/2014 11:48

Have just been examined & she gave me the first dose of whatever it was which has to be left in for 24 hours & said I'll be re-examined soon lol x

DizzyKipper · 12/09/2014 12:02

Does that mean you get to go home in the meantime or do they want you to stay there?

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 12/09/2014 12:04

Cookie that's fab news about your boy, really pleased for you. Must be a massive weight off your mind.

Good luck missb, hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you.

I've just lost a massive bit of mucus plug. Really hoping this is the start of things. Be nice if it all happened this weekend as dh wouldn't worry about work. Fingers crossed!

polkadotdelight · 12/09/2014 12:09

Good luck missbrightside

We are going out tonight and have half made plans for Sat and Sunday, hoping to have to cancel them though!

HippyJess · 12/09/2014 12:54

Good luck missbright! Very jealous over here Wink

Had a sweep today - due date! - and though my cervix is soft it's closed :( got a Bishops Score of 5 so could've been worse but with all the rumblings and cramps I've had this week I was hoping for a bit more than that! Hmm Now have another one booked in for Tuesday at 40+4...
