Congratulations fedup that's great news!

Missus2ndwife · 16/09/2014 09:34

Congrats to Fedup! Hope you and bubba are well xx

BingoBango85 · 16/09/2014 09:35

Well done fedup!

Anyone else got a dog/dogs & making any specific preparations for newborn arrival? Will get one of those adaptil diffusers for first few weeks. May need some practise to push buggy & walk doggies at same time (perhaps sling easier than pram)

Random topic I appreciate!

MundayCakes85 · 16/09/2014 09:36

Congratulations Fedup hope you're getting some rest now, or at least some lovely squidgy cuddles Smile

Congrats fedup! Really pleased for you!

Sazzle I lost my plus last Sunday and nothing has happened yet. I lost a bit more on the Monday and also on the Thursday too.

bingo I have 3 and plan on putting the first sleepsuits/vests in their crates at night so they get used to the smell. I also plan on using a carrier or a sling whilst walking the dogs. I don't have enough hands to deal with all that at once!

LondonJen · 16/09/2014 09:55

Hurray, I am FINALLY not 10 pages behind anymore!!!

Congrats to slide and well done on 50 hours jeez!

Fedup I have shed such a happy tear for you. 9 months of knowing you and now you have all you wanted, it is just awesome. Wait till I tell my dp as our due dates were almost the same! I hope your ds is feeling better too.

Bingo we are planning to let our dog sniff babies hat in the house just before they meet. I am trying to make the dog cross the roads on his walk at the slopes we'll have to use when out with pram now so he doesn't try to pull me and pram into road/down kerb. He is quite good at sticking to a route once he gets used to it. Other than that will be winging it. Biggest concern will be leaving him with whoever when in labour hopefully it's all easy and happens on a weekend when people who can dog sit are not at work!!

ohthegoats · 16/09/2014 09:57

Yerp, I lost bits of plug last weekend too - not a massive blob or anything, but definite snotty goo (TMI, soz). Nothing happened. Obviously.

passmethewineplease · 16/09/2014 09:58

Congratulations fed up Grin

mrsb87 · 16/09/2014 10:00

london we've had to make plans for dog sitting too. Our neighbour has a key and we have arranged for the in laws to check on them or have them at their house if needs be. It also stops them arriving at the hospital uninvited too Wink

mum2kiss · 16/09/2014 10:10

I didn't lose my plug until I was about 8cm dilated last time. My waters went when I was sat on the loo so didn't notice them...no idea what will happen this time!

I think it was binky or bump that asked about the gp? She confirmed piles with an "oh that's a lovely set of piles you have there" comment, whilst shining a torch at my naked ass! Very dignified!

I think I may be in denial along with you pregnant. I know we've bought pretty much everything we need but I'm not quite sure exactly where it all is and I haven't washed anything except crib bedding...crib is still unbuilt! I'm hoping I might start nesting at some point!

Shirehobbit · 16/09/2014 10:39

I was totally plug-unaware last time, too.

I have to say, though I love babywearing, when it came to dog walking, I found the pram better; much easier to poop pick without a baby on your front, or throw a ball, or safely intervene if there's any kind of issue with another dog. Plus, I felt my hound appreciated the 1-2-1 attention, where if I had DS in the sling, he was always between us, iyswim.

Shirehobbit · 16/09/2014 10:40

Totally forgot to add my congratulations, fedup Grin
Hope all is well with you and your new squish x

LondonJen · 16/09/2014 10:48

I like it Mrsb! DP's brother has keys for ours but dp very keen his parents only find out about the birth after the event so he's hoping his friends are free instead!

Oh I hadn't thought about scooping poop with baby attached. Have enough trouble balancing for that with bump!

Mum2 I am very sorry to read about your fire ass! I hope after the torch shining something could be done? Mine have been terrrible then faded, then came back, then faded. My concern now is a very special crop after the exertions of labour. Seems inevitable.

sazzlehopes · 16/09/2014 11:08

Thanks so much ladies for all your plug info. I feel much calmer that it still might not all happen for a little while...I still have things to do and am happy in denial. Plus the crib doesn't turn up until next week!

Kirstipops · 16/09/2014 11:10

Mum2 it must be a flipping nightmare, it's hard enough getting comfy as it is just now never mind having a sore "fire ass" (sorry, love that term), did you get anything from the doc?

Aw mrsb, 3 dogs, that's just greedy [grid]

FlipFantasia · 16/09/2014 11:12

Yay Fedup fantastic news! Congratulations on your baby boy!

MundayCakes85 · 16/09/2014 11:14

Sazzle maybe empty a drawer out just in case baby turns up before crib?!? Wink

I have really had enough now..the horrendous taste is driving me crazy..I have had it 24/7 for the last 6 months and had a bit of a breakdown yesterday..I don't know what I will do it it doesn't go once baby arrives. It's SO horrible.I have avoided stretch marks and any swelling so far though fingers crossed!

SummerDreams13 · 16/09/2014 11:21

Not sure i'll ever catch up on this thread any more but did see Slide's and Fedup's news - huge congrats!! How fantastic and also how real for the rest of us...

gunwalloe · 16/09/2014 11:37

Congrats fedup

Kirstipops · 16/09/2014 11:48

Aww mrsb, I grew up with a cat and so will my wee one, I'm equally a crazy dog lady to my cat lady though.
George the bad taste sounds awful - does nothing taste right at all to you? Such a shame after you being so ill beforehand too!

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 16/09/2014 11:49

fedup congratulations on your baby boy!

Those with dogs, a colleague of mine was lecturing me and our boss a few months ago about how you should save the first meconium-filled nappy and give that to the dog to sniff before you bring the baby home. I was a bit Hmm as to why he was telling us this since I don't have a dog, but recently found out that my boss's partner is due a week after me (lightbulb moment). Anyway, I know nothing about dogs, but my colleague said it worked like a dream with his dog and children.

I am gradually conquering my denial - got everything newborn-related out of the loft yesterday and have bought mini toiletries for my hospital bag and put on a wash of newborn clothes and a zillion muslins today. I now need to empty the drawer unit in what will be the nursery so I can put the things away once they are dry, so I'm on here procrastinating instead Grin.
