Good luck Fedup, squee!

fedupofrainydays · 14/09/2014 10:48

So they have def gone. Keeping me in though on antibiotics as it's prem. scared about having a tiny or ill baby mostly. Also worried how to juggle stuff at home with house / builders / ds. I have had some tightenings but not proper contractions so it could go on for days.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 14/09/2014 10:53

Good luck fedup and others!

I've had my 2 steroid jabs now (avoid them if you can!!) and after a trace this morning I was asked if I could feel the contractions (I couldn't) so now they want me nil by mouth. Although not yet confirmed by drs yet, should be meeting the little lady later today! Eek!!

SweetPeaPods · 14/09/2014 10:59

Wow not been on for few days and loads happened!
I'm ready for baby to come now, very uncomfortable but technically only 36w. Got scan on thurs to check position of baby so if still oblique not sure what will happen. They mentioned cs but not sure at what stage they will do that.
My mum is staying for a couple of days to help get organised. She's currently mopping kitchen floor bless her as DH at work. It would be nice if I went into labour while she was here then she could look after ds instead of him going to wicked witch of the west MiL.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday Smile

gunwalloe · 14/09/2014 11:08

Good luck alfie sorry I missed you earlier. I heard a women having a steroid jab when I was on the ward it sounded painful!

sazzlehopes · 14/09/2014 11:23

Crikey good luck fedup and alfie as well!!! Exciting and nervous times ahead for us all!

Fedup I feel for you as we are in a DIY state too and I know how much it's been stressing you out. I am still planning on the baby actually being late so I can get it all done, not early so I can only imagine your worry. I'm hopeful though that once that baby is in your arms all DIY/builder crap will seem so unimportant. Good luck.

bumpbangbump · 14/09/2014 11:23

Good luck Alfie!! It's all go.

STIGZ · 14/09/2014 11:25

Thinking of you ladies about to meet your baby's ... Even though its exciting i know how worrying it is when its actually happning to you, you cant help thinking "what if" !!

The last couple of weeks i have been looking forward to baby actually being here, but now i just want her to stay put for atleast another 3 weeks for maturity of lungs etc but doctors last night reassured me that even if she came just now 34 weeks is not the worst gestation ... But still would prefer her to cook for as long as she can

Bumpforme2014 · 14/09/2014 11:30

Good luck fedup....you guys are scaring me with your early labours I haven't even washed her clothes, packed my bag and her room is a tip at the moment. Doesn't feel like I am anywhere near though as she hasn't moved down, don't really get Braxton hicks.

My right boob was getting some extremely painful burning yesterday ouch that hurts, just another random pregnancy pain!

I already feel much more relaxed and happy having finished work now, makes such a difference knowing I can lie in everyday :-).

Kirstipops · 14/09/2014 11:31

Good luck Alfie!

puppythedog · 14/09/2014 11:35

Good luck Hatealfiebear. It's going to get tough to keep up with who's 'kicked off' and not.
Good luck to any in a spot of bother or on the short countdown to babydom.

puppythedog · 14/09/2014 11:35

Annoyed not hate.

Pregnantagain7 · 14/09/2014 11:36

Ooh good luck alfie hopefully you will be having snuggles by the end of the day.

This is the first day where I've felt so crap and down I'm still in my pjs, kids are like feral animals, and the house looks like crack den!! Oh well at least my chillis are on.

Dp has just informed me he's on a boxing class at half eleven so has just fucked off and left me to it I very calmy told him how unacceptable this was (was quite impressed at my calmness!) deep breaths now and keep calm and carry on!

Hope everyone is having a nice chilled Sunday :) no more moaning from me now I'm going to my happy place Grin

I've done bugger all as well, cupboards are a bit bare so trying to motivate myself to get dressed and head out to shops to pick up some things. Mainly eggs as I have a notion for some fairy cakes...

mrsb87 · 14/09/2014 12:12

Still In dressing gown here. Started off in a positive frame of mind til mil rang, she had a really awful tone with me which has now put me in a bad mood that is likely to hang around for the day. Great!

Kirstipops · 14/09/2014 12:36

Aw no don't let the old bag rain on your parade, go and make some amazing cookies and eat them all yourself Grin

cabster · 14/09/2014 12:37

Good luck Alfie!

I am now 5 packets of maternity pads and 1 emergency starter pack of Aptamil to the good. But if baby would care to stay put for now so I can have a lazy week or 2 in front of QVC, I'd be most grateful Smile

mum2kiss · 14/09/2014 12:42

Still in dressing gown here too!

Can't believe babies are arriving today! Can't wait to hear all he news :)

Picked up our travel system from the outlaws yesterday. It all feels very real now it's actually in the house! In a few weeks we will be using it! Still waiting on delivery of the carry cot and car seat base but as it stands it will be use able if baby happens to arrive first...

Anyone feeling a LOT of pressure in the vajayjay area when they stand up? I have the feeling of a balloon threatening to burst...

Called 111 yesterday because fire ass was killing me and hoped they would tell me what I can buy over the counter. They basically said it sounds like a particularly bad case and that nothing over the counter would help! Great! So I'm headed to the doc tomorrow morning in search of a cure!

Missus2ndwife · 14/09/2014 12:51

Wow!! This thread is certainly moving along now Wink

Good luck to all the ladies who will possibly have their babies shortly. Wow!!

I hadn't packed a bag until randomly grabbing stuff this morning. No idea what I've got really. So am now on the ward in a side room (thank god - didn't fancy labouring on the maternity ward). Seem to think as it's second baby it's likely to come soon but I don't know - contractions very irregular and not the mega painful ones.
Still feeling frighten end that there is something wrong with baby as to why it's coming a month early. My family don't do early.

I'm still in my nightclothes too. Been reading a book since 4pm yesterday, first book I've read in months... slept for 7 hours (ish), then just woke up and carried on reading. Just finished.

Life after Life by Kate Atkinson if anyone is interested - good book. Not really a tear jerker either, which is a good thing at this point!

Boyfriend is cleaning house - he's just informed me that his aunt and uncle are visiting this afternoon. I'm off out for high tea at a posh hotel with a couple of friends - they wanted to do a baby shower, but they make me feel a bit awkward, so tea it is. Going to do an hour in the bath before I go.

Can't believe the difference a day or so of sitting around does - feel like a normal human, not a knackered mess. Having a feeling that losing myself in a book for 18 hours has sort of switched off my work head... I expect this coming week will be all a bit vegetable-like at school. Ah well.
