Thought we'd better start a new thread, how many more will we get through before babies arrive??

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Stgz- yes yes and yes again! I use them as bibs, for wiping noses, as a make shift sun shade or hat & an extra blanket when ds was tiny. couldn't be without my muzzies!

ExcitedCJ · 11/09/2014 19:21

STIGZ great for putting on your shoulder for post feed to try & catch any posseting that may occur.

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 19:34

How much do your babies have hiccups? Noticing mine more and more now but not sure what's normal

Me23 · 11/09/2014 19:39

Hope you're not waiting to long slide thinking of you.

fedup baby's hiccups have increased aswell if say she averages around x2 hiccup sessions a day sometimes more. It's quite normal, as long as movement aren't reduced don't worry.

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 20:07

Hope all is ok slide

Thanks me. I have to keep checking for movement but it's definitely been moving today so phew.

Random q - those of you with toddlers - have any of you got buggy boards? I'm getting a babyjogger buggy but don't know whether to get their own buggy board (mixed reviews) or the lascal one. Any thoughts???

SlideIn · 11/09/2014 21:35

Readmitted. Monitoring is what they've said, but assuming low fluid plus pre-eclampsia equals probably leaving here a mummy... DP was here, went home to retrieve bags & returned with my mum and a Chinese. He's really good, reasons I am breeding with him #345677778322...

SlideIn · 11/09/2014 21:39

WTH is a Meyer mask? Sleep mask!

puppythedog · 11/09/2014 21:44

Gosh, SlideIn, good luck with whatever comes next.

one of things I wanted to add for Loulou was that I don't know where you are, we are in Essex. If we can do anything to help let us know. Can cheerfully be a private message to me or Mrsthedog or via FB or on here. If we don't feel able to help we will say so so that you should feel free to ask for anything Smile

ohthegoats · 11/09/2014 21:55

For those of you in hospital etc, were 'issues' picked up at routine appointments? Or as a result of you taking yourself to a Dr when something didn't feel right?

Just wondered, because I saw a midwife 2 weeks ago, and now not seeing anyone until consultant at 39 weeks - 12 days time. I don't feel weird or anything, it's just the longest gap I've had between medical appointments has been at the end, when things seem to have the potential to go wrong quite quickly. Interesting.

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 21:56

Gosh slidein - hope all ok but quite exciting all the same!

Muslins are so useful. Vom, snot, wee, drinks, boob cover ups, sleeping shades...the lot

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 21:58

I was wondering the same goats
As a second baby I have huge gaps between my appointments. But seeing gp on Tuesday (usually useless) for 36 week check

gunwalloe · 11/09/2014 22:06

oh bugger slidein its good that they are being so cautious with you hopefully you will get some proper answers when they do there rounds in the morning.

goats at this stage you should really be being seen at least weekly. Yesterday was my normal growth scan I felt as normal as usual and had no idea my bp had gone so high.

FlipFantasia · 11/09/2014 22:10

Wow Slide! Glad you're in the best place and exciting to think your baby will be here soon!

Lou, hope you're doing ok.

Muslins, I miss them! They just don't really exist in the US (neither do nappy bags). Except for posh anais swaddle blanket type ones. I will be asking for some when my mum comes over from ireland once the baby comes!

Me23 · 11/09/2014 22:10

goats first time mothers should be seen at 36,38,40 and 41 weeks (some of these May be with gp)

Subsequent pregnancies should be seen at 36,38 and 41 (again some appts maybe with gp)

Me23 · 11/09/2014 22:13

Sorry should have added these are for routine antenatal appts people with high risk pregnancies eg diabetes, Bp issues etc will probably be seen more frequently and see consultants.

gunwalloe · 11/09/2014 22:20

flip no nappy bags? How do they stop the bins getting whiffy?

BadgerInBury · 11/09/2014 22:25

Good luck, slide!

gunwalloe · 11/09/2014 22:30

me23 do you know if GD can cause high BP ive just been sitting here thinking how closely related GD hypo symptoms and PE symptoms are
(headaches/visual disturbances)

ohthegoats · 11/09/2014 22:32

Well, I had a growth scan at 36 weeks, but no one took my blood pressure or anything other than scan. I have on the list that I need to see my gp at 38 weeks, but I can't get an appointment until first day of week 39, which is the day before my consultant appointment. Since I've never seen my gp since joining the practice, I don't really see the point. Midwife suggested I book a sweep at 40 weeks, but I don't want to do that so smiled and ignored her.

gunwalloe · 11/09/2014 22:43

Its confusing that every hospital/doctors do things differently.

At my growth scans I have the scan then see a midwife for urine and BP check then I have to go and see the consultant to discuss the results and next steps

FlipFantasia · 11/09/2014 22:44

Gun, they use diaper genii type things at home (that do have bags in them). But when friends/family with babies/toddlers come over they will honestly just chuck a poo-filled nappy in our kitchen bin (boak!). We use cloth nappies, and even when we don't I tip poo in the toilet and bag the nappy (thank you amazon prime for supplying things that target cannot!). One of the first things I do after folks have been over is put the rubbish out to the big wheely bin! Baby change in public toilets are often intensely smelly...

Kirstipops · 11/09/2014 22:49

Eep Slide I hope you get a decent rest tonight with your eyemask and earplugs, I have mine packed in my hospital bag too! I'm aa fairly sound sleeper so not sure how much I'll need the plugs but defo will need the mask to block out lights!

gunwalloe · 11/09/2014 22:50

Im glad you mentioned it we are going back next year I will be packing nappy bags so the villa doesn't get smelly. Are there any other baby supplies you cant get over there?

puppythedog · 11/09/2014 22:55

Nappy wise we now have about thirty one pocket nappies, Yay!!!

ohthegoats · 11/09/2014 23:02

Gun - the consultant booked the 39 week appt saying 'if anything is wrong at the scan they'll send you straight down anyway'. So that's that.
