Can anyone hear their bumps-to-be with a Doppler yet? At 10+2 I can't... Can't even feel the grapefruit yet, I am impatient! (And on the worry sofa)

daholster · 21/09/2014 23:05

And thank you misty I will. I think I will mostly get my head down and get on with a busy couple of weeks, have lots of cuddles with dd and look forward to (/worry about!) the scan.

I have a huge exam to revise for and am hoping I can clear my mind enough. I'm not good at talking about it all in person, though dh and I have chatted a lot already but I imagine that's as far as I'll get - I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to talk about. I think it will all just take time. I think I might be letting off a lot of steam over the next two weeks though given how busy I will be! I don't think I'll know how I manage with it all until I try. I was very close to grandma but she wouldn't want my life on hold... Or for me to fail my exam!!!

sorry about your nan daholster but it's lovely that she went surrounded by loving family.

I've been so unwell this weekend. Woke up yesterday with that niggling 'about to get a migraine' sensation and managed to claw my way into work and keep it at bay until late afternoon. but the time I finished work I was meant to be going out with friends but ended up changing my destination to my bed half way there >.< I couldn't tell if I had a migraine because I was vomiting up everything and thus dehydrated or if I was vomiting and thus dehydrated because of the migraine. Didn't even attempt work today, I tried to get up, vomited and hubby sent me back to bed. He called me in sick to work and I finally surfaced at about 6pm having kept down nothing all day. I've managed some juice since but still can't eat. Going to have to go to the doctors as I'm getting far too many migraines >.<

In brighter news I got my scan date through; 2nd October, so I'll be 12+3ish, so I'm just waiting on the date for my anaesthetic Review as I assume I'll see the consultant as part of the scan?

What a sweet story of your Grans passing daholster. One you can share with your DC in a few years. Wishing you lots of energy and strength in the next few weeks. Xx

Really sorry to hear about your nan daholster Sad

I have my scan tomorrow, at 11+6. I am getting ridiculously nervous though, I'm petrified that something has gone wrong. My symptoms have started to lessen, and the rational part of me knows that may well be normal at this time in the pregnancy but I can't shake the niggle. Please hurry up tomorrow, I really need to know everything is OK!

AnniaFausta · 22/09/2014 11:07

So sorry about your grandmother, daholster, but very glad you got to tell her and share the news with your family. I hope the next few weeks go as smoothly as they can.

Hiding, I don't think anybody's actually checked... but as I keep telling myself, if I'm not pregnant then I've missed two periods for no good reason, and that should probably be on somebody's medical radar anyway!

Scan tomorrow. Argh argh argh.

10w+2

LadyNovember · 22/09/2014 11:33

My scan tomorrow too..good luck you two! Xx

JeewizzJen · 22/09/2014 11:37

Ditto - good luck to you both too!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/09/2014 12:44

Scans coming thick and fast now, then we'll all have find something else to worry about Wink

daholster that story made me a little teary, it was sad but lovely that your gran's last moments were happy ones with your family.

JeewizzJen I'm totally feeling the same and I have another week to wait :( I am sure that it will be fine though. Good to everyone with their scans this week, it's very exciting!

roastpots · 22/09/2014 13:39

daholster that is really lovely that he last drink was a sip of champagne toasting the next generation. I hope you're feeling OK today...

Good luck everyone with scans this week - I really enjoyed mine in the end so it's definitely something to be excited about as well as nervous. I got my letter through today confirming that I'm low risk for Down's Syndrome based on the scan and the blood test, so that's good news.

And my nausea has started to lift after an awful week last week - horray!

The only thing is, I've now done my back in (I think lifting DD) - must be the loose pregnancy ligaments. If it's not one thing it's another at the moment - I just want to feel normal/well again!

12+5

Lindalove · 22/09/2014 14:09

Just had 12 week scan. I was in there for ages! Anyway all looks good, all dimensions good and NT scan showed low risk. Bloods also showed that so overall Downs risk at 1:700. I still get a NIPT test anyway as they are doing research into this, so that should I hope confirm that low risk of downs etc.

The sonographers were amazing at UCLH, going through everything from checking heart, liver function, blood movement, spine, brain stem, eyes, feet/legs/arms - at one point the sonographer was poking my belly to get baby to stop lazing about and roll over so we could see his/her spine. After that baby was like disco baby and wouldn't stay still.

LobsterMagnet · 22/09/2014 14:18

That's brilliant Linda, so exciting! Did you get a picture?

This week is going to drag so much, I wish the week would just hurry up!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/09/2014 14:24

Hi yes scan attached - baby had his hand in front of his nose, so that's no a massive nose honest! My new EDD is April 2 rather than April 4, so much of a muchness really.

Its really amazing to see the development from 8 weeks - I could see ribs, eyes, fingers.... pretty sure he/she hiccupped a few times as well.

OVER HERE!!! Due April 2015
JeewizzJen · 22/09/2014 15:01

Ah that's lovely Linda so pleased it went well, and it's so reassuring when they take so much care over checking things too. Smile

daholster · 22/09/2014 15:18

Lovely picture! Congratulations everyone with happy scan results! 2 more weeks to wait almost, it feels like forever! Especially when you are worrying there is something wrong... No bump, no Doppler success... No vomiting, just some tingly boobs and intermittently enormous appetite!

10+3...

The hospital will know (they are doing the NIPT in their own lab, as have set one up - the only one outside of the US) but they don't have the 'ethics' to tell me - I take it from that they've not agreed that it is ethical to tell someone that early in case they decide to abort based on the sex. Its a shame as I would have known if I had done NIPT privately, but guess I'll have to wait til - is it 20 week scan? Boo!

Must admit I feel like a big weight, or sense of 'limbo' has lifted as I'll be able to tell others now. I'm telling my dad on thurs, then will announce generally to the world I guess!

LobsterMagnet · 22/09/2014 15:33

Ahh, that's so lovely Linda! Scans always make me think they're bigger than they actually are, I've just been reading up on what progress mine should be at on the calendar and it's expected to be 4.1cm around now which is tiny!

11w btw!

LobsterMagnet · 22/09/2014 15:36

One of my colleagues said something odd this morning which made me think people in my office have been gossiping about whether I am pg or not. I reckon it started when I declined a glass of wine at someone's leaving lunch a few weeks back! It's a bit annoying as I don't want anyone at work to know yet but I don't want them gossiping about whether I am or not either! Grr.

minipie · 22/09/2014 15:40

hey that's great news Linda! And nice to have the free NIPT as extra reassurance though 1:700 is nice and low anyway.

daholster sorry your grandma is gone but that sounds like such a lovely ending to her life Thanks. good luck with the exam prep.

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow!

DH's aunt guessed I was pregnant at the weekend Blush I am officially huge.

Does anyone know when you start feeling kicks with your second? Is it quicker than with the first?

cinnamongreyhound · 22/09/2014 15:59

That's rubbish LobsterMagnet! Itll probably all come out when you tell them!

I felt ds1 at 14 weeks and ds2 at 11+5 I think but definitely less than 12 weeks but so far nothing with this one minipie. Except a really annoying twitch on my left side which I'm sure isn't baby!
