Feeling rather pregnant this morning, had weird baby dreams last night. I have morning bloat (which I never have) and someone has been at my boobs with a bicycle pump in the night. I know I didn't go to bed with them this big! Blush Plus I'm clingy I want a cuddle and DH is messing with the ipad and won't give me one. Says I'm too hot n sticky. Angry

Nunkie · 20/09/2014 08:52

[waves to newcomers]

Lol, Lauren at bicycle-pumped-boobs!
Sorry to hear about your step-mum-in-law tho :0(

Glad you got the good news to your Gran, daholster, I'm sure you're right that it will give the family a boost to here the happy news.

Cool scan pics, Siarie and River :0)

And thanks for the help with the acronyms, folks!
(Of course the other thing DP could stand for is Dorothy Perkins ;0D)

12 week Scan and Harmony test results all due Wednesday next week (as well as various make-or-break things happening at work). Am crapping self.

Good news, ladies: think I've found a Worry Sofa that can seat all of us..
(It's also a nice shade of alarmist red into the bargain!) :0D

I must admit to having a little tear when I read your post daholster, my nan died a few years ago and my biggest regret is that she wont ever meet my baby. I think its beautiful that you got a reaction from her, I think you are right and that she did hear you.

Sorry to hear about bad family news Lauren, i think you are right though its up to your dh to decide. I am the opposite I am so hot I can't bear to be near dp at the mo, bring on autumn!!!

Good luck for your scan on tuesday Misty!

WIth the blood results they told me they would call me if anything came up otherwise they would talk me through at my next mw app at 16 weeks. As it turned out when I had the nt scan and bloods done they told me all was looking good.

I to am in maternity clothes now and had my 12 week scan yesterday so I feel less like a fraud now. We have a wriggly little baby in there and I can't believe it, I had convinced myself something had gone wrong and there would be very little to see. I just need to try and enjoy this experience now. That and am pleased we can finally talk about it and tell our friends and family.

Heres hoping to everyone slowly feeling less sick and grotty!!

12+2

AnniaFausta · 20/09/2014 10:50

I love the sofa, Nunkie ;)

Scan on Tuesday morning. And then I have to go and run some training in the afternoon. Ahahaha.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/09/2014 11:13

Sorry to hear about your step mum in law Lauren82000 and your dh not giving you a hug. Just take his iPad away!

So glad you told your nan daholster and thinking of you telling your family I'm sure they will be very pleased for you.

Have a safe journey home Misty414 and hopefully vomit free!

I feel very sick this morning but not sure how much is ms and how much is nerves! Will let you all know how I get on. Scan is getting closer only 12 days left! Dh keeps pretending he can feel the baby kick! Puts hand on my belly and moves it like it's been kicked, what a wally!!!

Got my booking appointment letter today. It's a 2 stage thingy get all the info in a group on Tuesday then a week later get the proper one with the mw. Got very excited as it was signed by the same mw I had the first time and i loved her to pieces.

Siarie · 20/09/2014 13:57

I also got my letter today, not sure I'm happy with the hospital I've been referred to so may have to look at other options. They are doing the booking, bloods and scan all in one appointment next month.

Which is good but also bad as it means it will take 2-3 hours!

catsofa · 20/09/2014 14:20

I just got my scan letter, it says I have to drink 1.5 pints of water one hour before the appointment time and then not pee until after the scan, which could take half an hour. I am not at all sure I can hold a pint and a half for two hours plus however long they take to actually see me! Also not sure this takes into account the three mugs of tea I'll have had before the hour before the scan - what if I hold it for an hour and a half and then piss myself before they call my name?!

bounces around nervously on the giant alarmist red sofa of worry

cinnamongreyhound · 20/09/2014 14:56

We had a delay with my first scan with ds2 catsofa and I had to go for a bit of a wee, which turned out not to be enough and then had to go again as he was squashed and she couldn't see properly. Second wee let out enough thankfully and not too much!

OP posts:
LadyNovember · 20/09/2014 17:56

Catsofa, mine says 1-2 pints so you could maybe get away with 1pt. I know it's not that much difference but I know theres no way I could hold 2 pints!! I already have to pee like 20 mins after drinking anything! X

HippoPottyMouth · 20/09/2014 18:02

I don't think you have to worry about having a full bladder so much once you're at 12 weeks, it's only possibly helpful for early ones I think. The fetal medicine centre quite specifically says you don't need to have a full bladder and they have the same machines!
I seem to remember my 20 weeks scan letter telling me to have lots to drink beforehand too, which is completely ridiculous.

RiverRocks · 20/09/2014 18:51

They wouldn't let me wee before my scan, so I think they do need you to have something in your bladder. I think you'll be okay with your 3 cups of tea though, catsofa; they just need something in there to push baby forward Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 20/09/2014 18:55

I did my run, nearly killed me but I finished! No way I'm running that far again in the next year! Now just got to do my 1-4am marshal slot and I can go back to normal weekends!!

BananaToast · 20/09/2014 19:22

Well done cinnamon, massively impressed!

I'm not finding I need to wee all that often - I wonder whether it's because my uterus is retroverted so there's not the same pressure on the bladder as it grows?

Lauren82000 · 20/09/2014 20:04

Perhaps banana I wouldn't complain about less trips to the loo Grin when I had my early scan I didn't feel like I needed a wee at all but the sonographer said my bladder was really full. I hadn't had much to drink that morning but they still got a good look. Think it mainly goes back to the older machines that aren't as good. If it's a new machine they are super sensitive.

BananaToast · 20/09/2014 21:29

Not complaining but any time I don't have a symptom I feel I should it makes me worry! Grin

HippoPottyMouth · 20/09/2014 22:31

Well done cinnamon, that's amazing!
I am disgustingly lethargic. Had a lie down on the sofa after lunch and woke up 2 hours later Blush

sazzle82G · 20/09/2014 23:15

How do you know if you tummy is getting big with a pregnancy bump or you're just getting fatter? Mine's suddenly gone huge! I'm only 9+4. Probably just all this guilt free eating I'm doing. Oh dear. I'm going be as big as a house by the end of this!

catsofa · 21/09/2014 01:00

I keep sticking my belly out as far as it will go in front of the mirror and kind of leaning back trying to pretend to look pregnant and imagine how I'll look when I'm bigger... but the flabby couple of inches that's starting to wobble over the top of my jeans is definitely Twix, not baby.

Oh well, maybe I'll just keep drinking slowly on the way into the hospital and then if my bladder isn't full enough when they start at least it'll be getting fuller by the minute.

Hey Twix is a nice name, do you think it'd suit a girl or a boy?

Lauren82000 · 21/09/2014 07:24

Haha love it. Ugh got the whole house to clean today. Had new flooring put down yesterday so everything is crammed in our front room and covered in sawdust. Kitchen still isn't quite finished and you so don't want to see what my work tops look like. We ended up getting dominos at 9pm last night so couldn't cook in it and they only gave up at 8.30pm started at 9am! Looks good though hallway, dinning room and the kitchen just need beading. Just not looking forward to having to clean it. It's making me twitch leaving it like that though bits of half finished brew, glasses of juice, bits of wood, tools, kitchen bits everywhere. ConfusedCan't even make myself a brew

Nunkie · 21/09/2014 09:12

Blimey Cinnamon, bloody well done!! Do you find the nausea recedes when you run? (I do) Or were you having to take sick-breaks every few miles (cos I've heard some ladies do that!)

catsofa Hahah! I think Twixie for a girl ;0D
My tum is definitely bigger, but it looks like pure blot/water retention to me, like I'm stuck on 'pre-menstral' mode. FOREVER!!
(Well, 6 more months at least, fingers-crossed)

Stuntman · 21/09/2014 09:27

I have caved in and booked myself a private scan for Thursday. I can't really afford it but I was going mad with worrying. I still haven't told anyone apart from strangers on the Internet so hopefully the scan will make it all seem real!

bohoec · 21/09/2014 10:03

Hi everyone. I haven't been on for a while... I don't think I've even posted since thread #1 in fact!

Hope you're all doing well. We're all a bit further along now so hopefully people have started having scans and are feeling less worried!

Anyone else on DC2 feeling ginormous? I fully look preggo - I'm already tying a hair bobble around the fly of my jeans because I can't do them up! A couple of people who know have told me I'm really showing and that the fat or pregnant gossip is probably going on! I'm usually slim, size 10, do I haven't much room to hide! I was only just showing at 24/25 weeks with DC1... It stressed me out at the time but I hadn't realised how lucky I was!

I've had a quick scan through the thread, but I'll catch up properly tonight. Hope everyone's doing ok though.
