Mine is definitely all bloat! I can't feel my uterus at all yet but the scans showed it's retroverted so I imagine that means it might be a few weeks later to be feelable.

Lauren82000 · 18/09/2014 15:31

I think I felt something before not sure if it was too high though, I am suffering from constipation so it might of been that Blush had to resort to beans for lunch and chilli for tea tonight try and get things moving again. I get scared if I'm spotting that I'll cause the baby to fall out if I strain. (Sorry tmi) it's irrational but that's where I am. Guess I'm firmly planted on the worry sofa. Confused

cinnamongreyhound · 18/09/2014 16:02

That sucks daholster, I'm running a 9 mile leg in a team race Saturday. Didn't want to drop out so I'd need replacing but haven't done more than 6 for a month. Can't relate to the rest but my thoughts are with you!

I am still in my normal trousers but the top part of my belly sticks out by the end of the day which is definitely food related.

Hope all is good for you both bananatoast and Lauren82000. Try not to worry, especially you BananaToast as you've seen all is ok very recently.

Lovely news and photo Sairie!

Rubbish response chiliplant :(

I was super worried with ds2, no idea why but it was really irrational. Maybe as he wasn't planned kind of but this time I feel more relaxed. With ds1 I tested when af due and got a negative then got married had honeymoon and starting being sick while away then tested when back so was 6 weeks when I knew and my scan was 11w and a few days so not as long to worry!

I'm not going out on a Thursday anymore! I don't have any littlies on a Thursday so it's just me and ds2 during school hours so we usually do something. Last week I had a tyre blow out on our car and today ds2 got his fingers trapped in the door of a lift as it opened :(

Thanks cinnamon, I'm not too worried as it's only a tiny bit of spotting but I've got the fear in the back of my mind that something will have gone wrong since the scan last week so I don't want to relax too much and assume it's all fine to find out it's bad news. At the moment I don't have too much of a reason to worry though.

Hope your ds2's fingers are ok! V impressed with you running this weekend - even the stairs are getting me out of breath at the moment!

minipie · 18/09/2014 16:22

Had my 12 week scan today! (At 11+4)

They moved my due date one day so now 4 April. All looks good, Downs low risk (though I'm having the Harmony anyway so will get a more certain result next week).

I guess I can start telling people now Shock not that it will be a surprise to most given my size! I actually wore some maternity trousers today to make scanning easier and they make me look SO much more pregnant.

On the other hand I'm horribly constipated (TMI sorry) so it's probably half poo Blush

londonlivvy · 18/09/2014 18:22

Hi everyone, not much time for posting as i have a toddler and I teach yoga (very part time, only three classes a week) so when I'm at work there's no surfing the internet. But I'm reading with interest when I can (currently avoiding watching raa raa with said toddler).

I've my booking in appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping it'll not be too long as I will have to try to entertain dd whilst being asked questions.

I've gained about 2lb but definitely feel like I've got a tum. I guess if you didn't know me, you wouldn't notice, but those who know what I normally look like would notice. I think. I've been paranoid about people spotting it at work as I'm keeping it all v quiet as worried about something being wrong with the pregnancy as I'm 39. I think that makes me the oldest on the thread?

For anyone with constipation, I find drinking a fair bit of water, plus adding flaxseed (about two tbsp) to my cereal in the morning helps. It's not the tastiest thing in the world but I've kinda got used to it yet.

londonlivvy · 18/09/2014 18:23

Oh am 10+4

Hidingthefear · 18/09/2014 19:10

daholster and Nunkie The worry sofa does feel a little better now it's not so lonley over hear. Everything you said from the "what if i don't get pregnant" to what if he/she doesn't make it" and "how the hell am I gonna get it into the world" i totally hear ya!!

I also get concerned that they've messed my date up (even though its only by 1 week) because my "10 week booking appointment" is next week when i'll be 11 weeks, and I still haven't heard from the hospital as to when my scan will be.

AnniaFausta and chiliplant i too am having the same debate, although i have resigned myself to the fact it's most likely just too many packets of ready salted crisps and chocolate milk seen as it's one of the few things that doesnt make me barf! and the crisps were recommended by the midwife!!

LadyNovember · 18/09/2014 19:22

I hope it's a big sofa..I want to join you on it too! :-)

Hearing ya all on the bump vs bloat..I can't comfortably do my work trousers up anymore but luckily my tunic is long. I keep looking at myself in the mirror and going "was my belly always the big?" I honesty can't remember as i have probably spent the last 10 years breathing in haha Grin

Scan on Tuesday..starting to get scanxious already!! Blush

AnniaFausta · 18/09/2014 19:30

Lady, I am both delighted and horrified that scanxious is an word. Nearly as good as the alternative meaning of DP ;) The things you learn around here!

Hidingthefear · 18/09/2014 19:33

haha Scanxious, i love that!
Igave up on fastening my work pants today, i just pulled my top a little lower while at my desk! bad part was standing up and forgetting they wernt fastened. I managed to rescue them before they ended up around my ankles!!!

LadyNovember · 18/09/2014 19:40

Cannot take credit for being the genius that invented scanxious Grin

RiverRocks · 18/09/2014 20:18

Dating scan this morning puts me at 13+0 with EDD of 26th March, so I'm another fraud on the April bus. The one I had earlier matched my dates, so I think I'll go over, so going to stay with you ladies if you don't mind.

Lovely strong heartbeat, having a good wriggle around (after she poked him/her). DH ran off back to work with the scan photo; think this has made it more real for him.

I went through my entire work wardrobe when I got home from holiday at the weekend-I've found two dresses that don't make me look 5 months. Been alternating all week and hoping nobody notices. It's all bloat though. I weigh the same as I did 8 weeks ago, but I can't get into clothes that fit me when I was a stone heavier. Can't wait to tell work and stop having to try and hide it!

AnniaFausta · 18/09/2014 20:22

Actually, River, that's a good question - for those who'll have to, who has told work already, and who's waiting? I'm hanging on until the 12 week scan, for my own peace of mind, and might wait for a week or two later because we're in one of our annual busy periods and it may make more sense to let things calm down rather than throw this at them at the same time as the usual bombshells are falling.

RiverRocks · 18/09/2014 20:25

I'm going to tell them soon, but there's no reason to at the minute and it's a bit hectic at the moment.

Ps-for anyone who wants to nosy because I will expect to see everyone else's

OVER HERE!!! Due April 2015
Lauren82000 · 18/09/2014 20:46

I have sort of told work I told my manager but not my big boss although I'm sure she kind of knows as she not an idiot and I haven't exactly kept it quiet. But talking of work my boss just text me and said I can take tomorrow off too if I need to. Might do a sneaky bunk off, take DH to work then come home instead of going to work. Smile

kittenmamma · 18/09/2014 20:53

I've told everyone at work because my job is really physical and I'm needing everyone to help a lot! If the worst was to happen though I know I'd have a lot of support from them so I don't mind them knowing.

minipie · 18/09/2014 20:54

Ooh good pic River! Looks much more like a baby, mine is rather more alien like at 11+5. I only have paper scan pics, not sure what is the easiest way to upload - my phone is useless for that sort of thing or maybe it's me

I will tell work next week. Bet lots of them (all the women anyway) have guessed already.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/09/2014 21:09

Love it RiverRocks!

I'm telling my customers as soon as I've had my scan before ds's can tell them!

OP posts:
BananaToast · 18/09/2014 21:20

Great photo River!

I haven't told anyone other than immediate family and intend to keep it that way until after my 12 week scan. We're going away from 14-16 weeks so wondering whether to hold on to tell until we get back but doubt we'll be able to hold it in that much longer!

LadyNovember · 18/09/2014 21:31

Aww great photo River! Yay for being further on!

I've told my boss because I work in a pharmacy and need to be careful around certain drugs etc. I was also asked to transfer to another store for a couple months who is in "crisis" at the moment and I refused because I didn't want the additional stress/travel time so my boss had to tell my area managers. Only my friend at work knows though, not the other staff. I haven't even told my dad yet haha :-)

daholster · 18/09/2014 21:51

I'm not telling work until as long as possible - definitely after the scan though. One work colleague knows. We're telling family this weekend because my husband is going to the US on business and I'll be alone for 2 weeks with my 16 month old, potentially feeling rubbish as well as working... So I might need their help! A couple of close friends also know. I'd like work to know last!!!

BonjourMinou · 18/09/2014 21:52

Wow, beautiful scan, River!

sazzle82G · 18/09/2014 22:05

That scan picture is amazing River. It's so clear.

I hope this sofa is a really big comfy one. one of those nice corner ones to lounge on because I'm on it. I've told my boss at work and my close friends mainly because I need some one to moan to/worry too.

There's no way I'm weighing myself. I was doing so well at Easter losing about a stone but I just know it's all back on now. My button popped off my trousers yesterday! Trying not to worry though and enjoying being able to eat guilt free. Can't wait to get a proper bump.

I'm the opposite of those not wanting to drink. All I want is ice cold water all the time. Not helping the constant loo going. 3 times in a 2 hour meeting yesterday!

Oh and I'm finding a bowl of cornflakes on a morning just about sorts my queasiness down. Sometimes!

RiverRocks · 18/09/2014 22:16

Thanks everyone Blush Blush

Mini it's a photo of the scan picture taken using DHs phone. His family live quite a way away so he's sent them a picture of my uterus our baby by email. I then uploaded it to here from the phone.

I've got a tickly cough, and it's agony on my tummy muscles when I'm laid in bed. Pharmacist could only tell me to take paracetamol Hmm so I wondered if anyone had any suggestions?
