Morning!
Welcome cazboldy. Hope everyone who's feeling yuk feels better soon & all the best to your dad's poor fiance MIAM, hope she's on the mend.

All that curry talk set off massive cravings here & I spent yesterday afternoon cooking, much to DH's delight - yum yum! So nice to be able to cook without wanting to barf at last. I never had cravings with dd so have started to wonder if it's a boy this time. Unfortunately my waning MS has been replaced by a HUGE appetite - eeek! Massive weight gain here I come......

Smole · 28/09/2006 09:27

Morning all.

Has anyone heard from AngeG since she had her scan on Tuesday? I hope everything is OK.

Welcome Cazboldy!

Good luck with scans today GGF and Bramshott - fingers crossed for you all.

Still feeling mega rough - have to go to work today aswell and am going to tell them - the bump is soooo obvious and feel soooo ill can't hide it anymore. Slightly worried about it but then it's life and baby much more important to me than the job so hey ho! Not much they can say really... hoping will say congrats obviously!! Planning to leave in mid feb so not long to go - wow that will come round so quickly.

Have nice day everyone xx

CornflakeKid · 28/09/2006 10:07

Twinkle - I would take the 9 months - you will get maternity pay/leave so worth it! Baby may not sleep through til 6 months (fingers crossed!) and you don't want to contend with a waker and work. Also baby will be weaned by 9 months and won't have to worry about milk so much. Just some thoughts - it is a tough decision - go with your instincts - you don't have to tell them anything yet about returning so take your time.

My contract runs out at end of august and was chuckling with a friend yesterday about finishing at 28 weeks in january so get as long off as possible! Have decided to wait until mid feb though! Thought would be taking the piss slightly!

sallycinnamon · 28/09/2006 10:28

Wow this is such a big thread now!
Feeling sorry for myself today as I had a migraine last night. Thought I was dying the pain was sooo bad. Hoping this isn't pregnancy related. Does anyone have any remedies? I usually sink about a packet of Nurofen

weeonion · 28/09/2006 10:30

hi folks.
re maternity - i am due 20th but am gonna have to work right up and be back as soon as after. i think i will only be able to take 6 weeks off as we simply could not get by on the £108 / week. feel really about it as i'll have no time off to look forward to either before or after baby arrives.

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2006 10:34

Morning! Still got horrid, lingering bug thing - had the crappest crap night's (non) sleep last night Apart from that, all ok - can't wait for my scan and to see my new bean etc etc

Welcome cazboldy!! 5 - How cool is that!!!? Good on you!!! I'd love 4 - how is it??? I had no period inbetween DD1 and DD2, so had no idea of my due date until my scan - got loads of "funny looks" from people in the hospital, like I was some kind of idiot for not knowing when I concieved!! Was horrible!! Worth it though - my girls are yummy!! Nice to have you with us!

Right, heaps to do and need to eat, so best go....

Greengirlforever · 28/09/2006 11:08

Last post before I'm off for scan - haven't needed to wee until now and scan is at 12.30 - should I go girls???

Re maternity leave - I work for NHS so nice and secure(ish) and low paid. I'm going for the full 9 months, broke or not - I'll be knackered no matter what so I'm going to enjoy my last time at home with my babies.

Sallycinnamon - I really feel for you. My headaches have never been diagnosed as migraines but I get them all the time now I'm preggars. They usually start at work and go on for most of the evening. I feel sick with them, which I used to before pgcy, but am not sure if it's also partly ms. The only thing that occasionally works for me is to neck the paracetamol as soon as I get the slightest hint that a headache is coming - and then take more after 3 hours etc. I have them about twice a week at least so am a bit worried about all the paracetamol but what can you do?

AngeG · 28/09/2006 11:09

Hi all, sorry I haven't been back on sooner. I've had a bug and haven't really been able to leave the toilet, let alone get on here. Sorry tmi!

Thanks to those who were worried. Scan was all good on Tuesday. Only 1 baby in there...thank goodness! Very active and I'm sure I could feel it move while she was pressing down.
Got loads of pictures and a dvd with some clips of the baby moving and the heart beating. Definitely feels real now!

Haven't had time to catch up yet. So hope everyone ok. Anyone had or having scans hope all ok.

AngeG · 28/09/2006 11:12

GGF yes go to the toilet. I had quite a full bladder before scan on tues and she made me go and have a wee and then scanned again... she said it was so full it was squashing the baby and she couldn't see it properly!!

HTH

Greengirlforever · 28/09/2006 11:14

Been !

Ange - great news and glad all is well.

AngeG · 28/09/2006 11:17

sorry forgot to say hope all goes well today and for you Bramshott

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2006 11:24

Ooooh, scans a-plenty! I'm so - mine seems like yonks away ...... Hope they all go well!

emmymummy · 28/09/2006 12:40

Well done with all the scans - also v. as mine is still 2 weeks away.

Had monster mole on face removed yesterday - was terrified beforehand, but it was all very straightforward. Dr cauterised (sp?) it once removed, so nice flesh burning smell. Just lay there thinking please don't vom, please don't vom.....

Had big sexy dream about David Tennant last night, yum! Could do with a few more like that!

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2006 12:47

LOL @ your sexy dream, emmymummy! My scan is 2 weeks away too! It'll be worth the wait, I'm sure! Glad the little op went ok, you brave girl - praying it heals quickly .....

emmymummy · 28/09/2006 12:55

Thanks CD, it actually looks semi-OK already today, just like a cigarette-burn on my chin. I was expecting to be coming into work either dripping in blood or with a big plaster on my chin today, but everyone has been very complimentary so far!

Fascinated by your pottery BTW. What sort of things do you make?

geordiemacminx · 28/09/2006 12:58

Morning..ooops afternoon all!!! Thats me back from my scan too.... was really really worried but everything was fine!!! It even looked like it was waving!!! I too had to empty my bladder "a bit" as it was too full.... easier said than done!!! Hope everyone is ok!!

twinkle183 · 28/09/2006 13:51

Congrats on all your scans - its fab that everyone is doing really well

Still feeling poorly - nearly finished work

Take care everyone!!!

doobydoo · 28/09/2006 15:05

Welcome cazboldly.Hurrah for the positive scans and good luck to you having scans today.I felt th ems has been easing off abit then got the start of a migraine last night and still today[it's soo painful]makes me want to vomit.Feel for you Sally and Greengirl.I can't take my ususal effective migraine stuff so take soluble paracetamol.Do try that if you haven't already as your digestive system is compromised with migraines so tabs don't work as well.
I phoned the hosp and have my booking in appointment for 11th October[14 weeksish]so i should have a scan then too.
Off to be sick now
Take care all.

Greengirlforever · 28/09/2006 15:07

Back from scan . All looks good. I have been given a date of exactly 12 weeks today - due on 12 April. Baby was very active. I was getting the full nuchal plus blood & urine tests for abnormality screening, so I don't actually know the results of all that yet. They will phone tomorrow if I am high risk and otherwise I will have to chase the results myself unless I want to wait over a week for the post. The sonographer did say that the amount of fluid behind the head was low, which is a good start. I'll keep everyone posted about the rest.

Well done for having the op Emmymummy!

And well done everyone on your scans.

12.0

sallycinnamon · 28/09/2006 15:07

I didn't know you could take paracetamol!

sleepingbag · 28/09/2006 15:53

hi everyone one glad scans going well, mine not for to weeks either...can't wait, will be almost 14wks so luckerly pretty sure of dates.

sallycinnamon have migraines to, soluble paracetamol is best as absorbed quicker. midwife also said i could take some with codiene if really needed it. also bought migracap of net, which you keep in fridge and covers head neck and eyes, expensive at around £40 but def worth it.
