Smole - glad it went ok honey - 3% is tiny, try not to worry too much between now and the 22 week scan - just enjoy your pregnancy as much as poss! [hugs]

Tili · 05/10/2006 13:50

Hi everyone.

Thanks for the warm welcome

Just to add to the comments about pains Ive been having some crampy stretchy pains too and I really dont recall having them with dd but as lots of others are having the pains too it can only be normal!!

My one gripe this time is my terrible nausea with dd I used to vomit (TMI) in the morning and then be fine all day but this time round I constantly feel ill. Is anyone else on here feeling worse 2nd time round?

Sexonlegs I remember you too from the conception threads hope all is going well for you.

and Treacletart although we havent chatted before just wanted to say im sorry to hear what your going through.take care of yourself chick xx

take care all xxx

geordiemacminx · 05/10/2006 14:02

Cornflakekid... did you have any more thoughts on the dopplers? I saw your ither thread and have to admit I am tempted.. even though dp thinks I shouldnt.. it would just stop me worrying so much hopefully.. thing is I'm only 10+3.. although having said that by the time it comes I'll be 11.. not sure whether it would be too soon?

Hi all. Haven't been around much lately as have been busy with work but finally I am feeling better. Only been sick once in the last week and the nausea is definitely easing - hooray!!!

Treacletart, so so sorry to read your news. Thinking of you, all the best for the future xx

AngeG, glad everything went well for your LO. I am a children's nurse and see parents go through things like that all the time. Since I had ds I really appreciate how hard it is. I cry when ds needs an injection or something simple!!

GGF, so pleased that your news was good. You must be so relieved. I have my bloods in a few weeks so am keeping my fingers crossed for good results.

Welcome to the thread Tili. Wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

MIAM, your elephant scrotum made me laugh so much as did CFK's windy story!

Has anyone else felt movement yet? I know its early but I swear I can feel the baby move. The first few times I put it down to my windy belly but I have been feeling it for over a week now. Didnt think that it could happen this early, felt ds move when I was around 20 weeks.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

AngeG · 05/10/2006 15:15

bubba000000 - hope you didn't mind me asking didn't mean to be nosy just interested. You're right it is difficult, you have to console yourself with the fact that it has to be done and it is in their best interests. 10 weeks in plaster wow that must have been hard.

Cornflakekid - pmsl about your wind problem, I know how you feel. Glad you're feeling more comfortable now.

Liath glad your scan went ok today.

Smole hope everything works out for you. Try not to worry too much.

CaptainDippy wow what a busy day you've had. Hope the driving test is going ok. Let us know how you get on.

Mammyjo I think I can feel the baby move sometimes now! I felt it first a week ago when I was being scanned and I have felt more since then. Apparently you tend to feel movements sooner in subsequent pregnancies.

Hope everyone ok.

CaptainDippy · 05/10/2006 15:59

Good to "see" you mammyjo!!

Unfortunately I failed my driving test again - The examiner man wasn't v.nice and told me he wasn't bothered about the fact I was PG. (RE: emergency stops etc) Darn and blast - oh well, there's always next time!

AngeG · 05/10/2006 16:03

Oh so sorry Captain Dippy, better luck next time. What a horrible examiner. Hope you get a better one next time x

geordiemacminx · 05/10/2006 16:06

CaptinDippy - bad news about your driving test.. I failed mine 3 times so I know what its like.. especially when you see some of the imbaseals(sp) on the road these days.

I personally think its shocking that a driving instructor could say something as insensitive and nasty as that - I would seriously think about making a formal comlpaint.. although it probably wouldnt do much good... people just arent bothered how they treat others these days.

What a busy day posting! Congrats on scans and sorry about driving test CD.

I haven't got round to buying a doppler yet - but you can get them for £35 ish including postage for a Angelsounds which seems good - don't need anything highly technical - you can record the heartbeat onto your laptop and record your own heartbeat for when baby is born - all sounds very cute - thought would also be good for my boys to hear baby. Thought would try to get one locally/save postage before go on ebay again!!!!

CaptainDippy · 05/10/2006 16:57

Thanks guys - feeling a bit sorry for myself. Just scoffed a whole load of choccies!! Oh well.

I think it is a lovely idea to purchase a doppler if you've got other children old enough to appreciate "listening to the new baby" - really gets them to feel part of it all etc.

sallycinnamon · 05/10/2006 17:03

Hello! Haven't been around much recently and am only just catching up with all the posts. Just wanted to say treacletart I'm really sorry- you sound so calm and brave. Its not until you read the threads on MN that you realise how many women go through miscarriages.
I had my scan today. I don't know why but I am so much more scared this time round. When I was pg with dd it didn't occur to me that anything could go wrong. Sitting in the hospital today I was really worried- what a relief to see a little fluttering heart beat. Congrats to all the new posters.

CaptainDippy · 05/10/2006 17:06

Glad you scan went well Sally - good to "see" you honey!!

Bramshott · 05/10/2006 17:35

Oh no Captain Dippy - lots of sympathy for you (and your wallet from what I remember!). I did tell you that I failed six times before passing didn't I?!

Tili - just to reassure you about nausea, I have been feeling SO much worse this time it's been unreal. Constant nausea (worse in eves) and a fair amount of vomit. I'm now nearly 14 weeks, and feeling better, but still constantly like I've swallowed a mouthful of rancid chip fat!

Mammyjo - good to hear from you again. You could be right about feeling it move - you're nearly 15 weeks aren't you (a week ahead of me), and I'm sure someone else on here said they felt their second one move at 15 weeks. I felt DD move at 18 weeks, so I'm just waiting now!

Sorry, don't mean to single people out for replies, but have scrolled to the end of thread now, and those are the messages I can remember!! Hello all, and pleased to hear about so many good scans / heartbeats. I have a busy and stressful week at work this week, and somehow have to find time to go to a school open day for DD tomorrow morning. It's our second choice school, so I may just fly in and fly out - does that make me a bad mummy?!

CornflakeKid · 05/10/2006 18:09

Bramshott - I would get a good look around just in case - I had the choice of two schools and picked the nearest one then moved ds 4 weeks into term (poor thing) as there were 38 (SHOCK - is against regs!)in his class - now 22. (he is now in year 1 and has always been happy) - so was very glad checked it out thoroughly. I have just applied for ds2 for next sept and am praying he gets in as we are out of catchment - well tbh he's not going to a different school - so if full will wait til a space comes up! We live in a rural area so should be fine - not too worried!...then there's this one to think about...

Must go bath my boys and have some cuddles!

mammyjo · 05/10/2006 19:23

I will be 15 weeks this coming Sunday. Cant quite believe it though, the weeks seem to be flying past me at the moment!

Sorry about the driving test CD. Cant believe the examiner was so vile, some people just have no idea do they. You would think that someone who deals with the public on a daily basis would have a better attitude. Then again I think geordie is right though. There really is no such thing as customer service these days (I am not 90 I promise, even though I sound like I am at this moment)!!

Sally, glad to hear the scan went well. With you on the things going wrong this time. I am absolutely paranoid!!

About the doppler things, I saw what appeared to be the same idea in Argos while I was standing waiting to pay for a stretchy scooby doo the other day! I think it was around the £25 mark. It said on the box you can hear the heartbeat but not sure about putting the sounds on the computer.

Its nice to be back! Have a good evening everyone xx

sallycinnamon · 05/10/2006 19:42

Thanks for the nice words Captain Dippy and Mammyjo. I think the reason for feeling worried is that because my last pregnancy and birth went relatively smoothly I can't quite believe that I will have the same luck again. Its nice to be able to talk on here though and know others feel similar.

Tili · 05/10/2006 20:15

Sallycinnamin, I have exactly the same thoughts as you regarding this pregnancy.

Everything went perfectly with dd I keep thinking that something will go wrong this time.

I think that it is also the fact that you totally understand more what it is like to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby so you know how much of an impact it would have on you and your family if anything were to happen this time.

But im trying to relax a bit about it but its never going to happen I dont think anyone doesnt have any worries during pregnancy.

Bramshott hope your nausea eases soon. the ill feeling does somedays take the shine off being pregnant. its a good job babies are worth it.

When I was pregnant with DD my DH thought it was all big boobs and being horny! he was so dissappointed when it turned out to be big boobs that looked like an A-Z map, heartburn ,nausea, constipaton and wind !!! LOL

sallycinnamon · 05/10/2006 21:45

Tili I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

weeonion · 05/10/2006 22:27

evening folks - what a busy day on here and out in the real world for us all!
Cdippy - bad luck on the driving test. 3rd time lucky and all that. r u a local NCT leader??

sallycinamon & liath - wayhey and great news on the scans! it's fab to see him/her waving away in there! liath - u were back quick from the RI - short wait/ was it yr booking as well?

hensden - good news and congrats on the nuchal. do yu have the bloods to come back yet?

GMM - hope the meal went ok and u won loads at the casino - vegas next? i now what you meant about the weather here - it was poo! is it this weekedn u r tellling DP's DD&DS?

sorry if i missed anything out - i sometimes find it had to keep track of all our comings and goings... does anyone have an idea of how many of us there is on this tread now??

i went of rmy nuchal scan in eburgh today. i had to stop off for a wee on my way to it from station - had overdone the water intake. had to then quickly chug 2 bottles to refill - nearly another accident on the scanning table. i really need to get the PV exercises started. had ages with the LO - fab big screen to see it on too. was peeved with DP when showing the pics later - "there just like the ones frm yesterday." as he turned attention back to the tele. i keep having to get them out to look at them!

feeling fat - my bum and hips are spreading at too quickly a rate - surely its all meant to be tum???

bubbaOOOOOOO · 06/10/2006 09:48

Morning All,

Congrats on all of yesterdays scans-mine's finally getting nearer now.

CD-Sorry to hear about the driving test.Hopefully it'll be 4th time lucky like mine was.

Still having horrible vivid dreams and last night's one has really freaked me out. When I went to the toilet this morning there was a bit of blood(exactly what I dreamt) which was a big shock. It was only when I wiped and wasn't loads but obviously still a worry.I am also very constipated at the mo,so I I wondered if straining on the loo(sorry if TMI),would've caused the bleeding, which is definately from the front.I spoke to a midwife this morning who told me if I get any more blood or abdominal pains to go to the EPU at the hospital.Fingers crossed I won't get anymore and my scan will be ok on Tuesday.

Hope everyone else is well.x

sallycinnamon · 06/10/2006 09:53

Morning everyone. Bubbaooooo make sure you rest today. Senokot do a fibogel type product which is good for getting things going. Marginally less disgusting than fibogel!

CaptainDippy · 06/10/2006 10:06

Hey there - thank you for continued lovely comments about my driving test - have another booked for the end of the month, so perhaps I'll pass third time????? BTW, I loved the use of the word "vile" in conjunction with the driving test examiner, mammyjo!!!

In response to your Q weeonion - I am on my local NCT committee. I am Antenatal Bookings Secretary and the Postnatal Contact - and general dogsbody. We've got our Nearly New Sale tomorrow, so hoping that goes well - even if the weather is yuk! Glad your nuchal scan went ok - did you get an instant result or do you have to wait? @ your DH for saying the pics look the same - big deal - it's your BABY!!!!!! Sooooo excited - can't wait for my scan - only a week to go!!!!!

Bubbaooooo - Don't be afraid to go and get checked out if you are worried, better to be sure!! It is quite poss that the blood was from the straining (don't worry about tmi!!) Take something that has been suggested to "get things moving along", but do go and get checked at the maternity unit if you are worried - no one minds imo!!

Hungreeee - need to go and find fooooooood!!

weeonion · 06/10/2006 12:02

morning folks- hope u r all well.
bubba - r u resting, feet up and relaxing??

hey captain dippy! i was just told that the actual measurement of the nuchal fold seemed low at 1.5mm so that was good. i still have to wait til tuesday til the bloods are back and i get the combined result. fingers crossed!!

Sexonlegs · 06/10/2006 12:04

Hiya ladies, sorry about your driving test CD - there's always next time!!

I am a bit worried too, as I had some blood streaked cm this am - again only when I wiped, but worrying nonetheless. Don't know whether to bother the midwife or not really. Am 11 weeks tomorrow, and heard heartbeat on Wednesday.

Sorry, bit worried. Need to do some work.

Hugs to all.

weeonion · 06/10/2006 12:12

sexonlegs - if you are worried honey, which indeed you sound, u could amybe give the midwive a ring??
u said you needed to do some work - r u at home or out & about? any chance you could take it easy for the rest of the day??
