Thanks for the book recommendations Cinnamon and Phryn - and bohoec, I know you're right, but I do appear to know very little! Although I did have a moment in Waterstones earlier, when I thought someone from work was in the shop and may have caught me reading the book, which would not have been good!!

CatRen27 · 19/08/2014 17:16

No early scan for me - have to wait another 4 weeks like everyone else for the 10-13 week one! How will I cope! Might see if I can get an early scan in once we've seen the MW as my cycles were all over the place for the three months when we were TTC...

Sorry to hear about your news wiggly but it sounds like you're coping well. What an inspiration you are!

So exciting for those who have seen the heartbeat already!

lila35 · 19/08/2014 17:28

I called my midwife to make the booking in app and I'm in for next Wednesday, amazed its so soon! Hoping my 12 week scan app is sooner rather than later!!

Just need to chill out and try to enjoy it now, my mc rate is tiny and I have a bunch of symptoms just got to get a grip..easier said than done.

Sorry your feeling so rubbish cis sleep normally fixes everything so get all the naps you can x

lila35 · 19/08/2014 17:29

Also might have ordered the bumpology and mumsnet pregnancy books, its all feeling a tad real!!!

Phryn · 19/08/2014 17:38

Fantastic news Lila - glad your scan went well and was conclusive!

Thanks for the encouragement ladies - I'll be hanging on for the next 10 days, trying not to keep going to the loo to look at my pants and generally trying to get a balance between not wanting to wish my life away but really wanting to have a conclusive scan and hopefully see a heart beat!

Cassieyellow · 19/08/2014 17:39

Again, sorry wiggly. Do let us know how you get on.
Really appreciate book recommendations too.
Two old friends came to see me today. Drove up from surrey for the day and by lunch they said, 'so when are you due?' HOW do they know?! I wasn't being sicky or tired. Belly wasn't sticking out! They were just smugly saying,'we have 6 children between us, we just know these things'! Bloody hell! Watch yourselves with older people they seem to have some instinct thing going on!

I know what you mean Cassie! I think one of my colleagues twigged yesterday. It was after my second bag of crisps that morning that she looked at me and said "hungry today aren't you" in a I know something is going in voice.

Misty sounds like your really worried. I would ring up and demand an appointment. The worrying really can be torture during pregnancy. Fx for you, hope everything's ok.

BananaToast · 19/08/2014 18:33

Wow Cassie that's impressive of your friends to twig so quickly - how could they tell?

Sorry you're still worried Misty, not overreacting at all, I would definitely go and get checked out. Fingers crossed everything is ok.

Cassieyellow · 19/08/2014 19:02

Have no idea, they were so confident!
Misty- you are right, not helpful to baby. Problem is you are understandably analysing every little thing that happens to you or appears when go to loo. Not a good situation to be in and making time go soooo slowly I guess. Hope you can get some clarification so how rather than sit it out.

lozzg82 · 19/08/2014 19:11

Wow not sure what has happened to my boobs today. After the pain went away for about a week it is most defiantly back! Let the news slip too one if my friends at work who has just had her 20 week scan. Feels good to let someone know - still petrified until the first scan though. But just another week to go till my booking in appointment :-).

I hate not being in control and knowing how things will work out!

oh well, got to get up and go to the gp in the morning for blood pressure review Sad it Will be through the roof as got to take 3 youngest dcs with me and i swear they are conspiring against me... today (in a coffee shop) it took three attempts for the poor waitress to take the order with all the changing of minds and disagreements. Sad poor love, she was soooo patient i heavily tipped her. Grin

heartburn is kicking in now too. anyone got any pregnancy safe remedies other than gaviscon? cant stand that stuff Sad .

MrsS010814 · 19/08/2014 22:37

Hi, can I join too, just had BFP for DC1, EDD 28th April. I'm 28 and just married so this would be a honeymoon baby!

willowave · 19/08/2014 23:10

Congrats MrsS01084, wow a honeymoon baby that's fab!

I have been to buy my first mat bra today. Actually only wanted a sports bra at this stage (4w +4) because could no longer run downhill without holding on for dear life iykwim. But once I tried on a bra that fits properly there was no going back so bought mat bra too.

misty hope you get the reassurance that you need sooner rather than later. Sad It must be really worrying to not know what's happening. Good luck tomorrow when you speak to them and I hope everything is ok.

Stuntman · 20/08/2014 06:49

Hello, can I join please? I got a surprise BFP this morning, my due date is 27 April 2015. This will be DC number 4.

Gibbon85 · 20/08/2014 06:50

Just realised there was a part 2 tread so apologies for duplicate posting!

Hi all can I join in too? 29 and 5.5 weeks with our first- due mid April! Really excited but trying keep it a secret as we're quite worried about what could happen this early. Doesn't help that we're on a holiday in France with mum and sis so having to discreetly not drink!

Congrats to everyone btw Smile

Very new to all this- what do the 2 part numbers mean, eg8+3?? Thanks!

laurenamium · 20/08/2014 07:09

Congratulations mrsS stuntman and gibbon Thanks

Gibbon the 2 part numbers means weeks + days. So 8+2 would be 8 weeks and 2 days Smile

LadesC · 20/08/2014 07:12

Congrats to the new bfps. Gibbon it means weeks plus days. So 8+3 would mean 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

Got my first appt with midwife today which im quite ecvited about altho it feels a bit early..im 6+6 but gp surgery receptionist didnt seem to know when it should be. Will make it seem all the more real though im sure!

Gibbon85 · 20/08/2014 07:32

Thanks for explaining lades and lauren- guess that makes me 5+4!

Good luck at the midwife's today ladesc! I phoned my gp right after we did the test as I'd had period pain really badly for 10 days by then but she reassured me and said to book in with the midwife for 8-9wks so doing that when back from hols. Think that will make it feel more real!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/08/2014 08:05

Congratulations MrsS010814, Stuntman and Gibbon85. You are the second lady with an edd on my ds's birthday stuntman :). I had lots of cramps this time Gibbon85 as did others.

Try to think positively Misty414, once you've seen a heartbeat cm rates are much lower :) hope you get seen today to out your mind at rest Thanks

I feel not too bad this morning, best mornin for a week which is good! 7weeks today and only another 6 until my scan Shock. We're away from Friday and dc go back to school the following week so hoping I'll be too occupied to think about it. Then we have ds2's 4th birthday to plan too. I had a wobble yesterday that this was the right thing to do for us and dh did his usual one of pointing out all the bad points but managed to make me laugh even if he did use words such as 'financially crippling'!!

ladyflower23 · 20/08/2014 08:14

Sorry to hear your news wiggly and I admire your positive attitude. Hopefully won't be too long till anotherbfp.
Welcome Mrs s, stuntman and gibbon.
Don't feel sick this morning. I know I should be grateful but...

FizzyBubbly · 20/08/2014 08:25

Morning everyone, and welcome MrsS, stuntman and gibbon! Can't believe how big and fast moving this thread is

Is anyone else feeling like a hormonal bitch? DH feels like he can't do anything right, and he's right Sad Feel bad for him as he's just taking it

Cisforcat · 20/08/2014 08:35

Morning everyone. I've felt so rough that DH has taken dD to his mums for two days so I get to be last as I've got 2 days off. Bliss. I suspect I won't move far from my bed!!

dances - heartburn take love heart sweets. Honestly they work like a miracle although if it's that bad hen the dr can prescribe tablets. My DH suffers badly so has medication but swore by love hearts before he got the meds. I told my friend at work suffering in pregnancy and she swears by them! Sooooooo much nicer than gaviscon!!

Hope we are all well this morning and welcome new passengers!!
