Hello! Can I join in too?! 5 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 (total surprise!). Now that my partner (of 3 months - I know, crazy!) Have decided we are going to do this, it would be nice to chat to other people at the same stage as me!

I am due April 19th :-)

Seeing my GP this morning to get myself referred to the midwife etc.

Very sore nipples, tired evenings and hot and cold flashes the only symptoms I have at the moment and praying it stays like that lol! Reeeeeeally don't want to experience the horrendous morning sickness I did with my 1st.

Hope your all well and don't mind me butting in ?

CareBearWithFangs · 20/08/2014 08:49

Welcome to the newbies Smile

Yes fizzy I am horrible to be around at the moment! I keep snapping and shouting and randomly crying.

Cisforcat i've never heard of using love heart sweets for heartburn before but I like the sound of it Grin heartburn also already kicking in here too.

I'm having biscuits for breakfast for the third morning in the row.

Hello MrsS, stuntman and gibbon and congrats. Lots of surprise BFPs... Mine too, although we had just talked about starting to try. Luck, I guess (sorry if that seems insensitive to those of you who have had long journeys to get here! Not intended at all - I do understand it's takes time for some).

I've never heard of love hearts, but I guess it makes sense as they're chalky-ish. I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

DD with DM today (haven't told DM, but pretty sure she knows! How do some people just know?!)

Cinnamon I think I'm your DP in our scenario. I'm so worried about coping with the change from 1 to 2. DP is away a lot so I do most of the childcare arrangements, house admin etc. Any advice from of you with more than 1 DC would be great (but only if you're going to tell me it'll all be fine Wink)

The days are ticking by... All those scans are just round the corner.

bohoec · 20/08/2014 09:50

Misty I hadn't seen your post. I really hope everything is ok. It's ever so hard, but you're right, it's best to try to stay calm. Try not to worry until you know there's anything to worry about Brew

roastpots · 20/08/2014 09:54

Morning everyone! So far today I've eaten a bagel with peanut butter, a nectarine and a mini twix. I just can't stop! But by evening I feel so sick that I can't face dinner so maybe it's good that I am filling up early in the day. 8 weeks today - so I'm getting there....

RiverRocks · 20/08/2014 09:59

Misty Flowers for you, and a hand hold until Friday.

Welcome to all the newbies, and Mrs - mine's a honeymoon baby too! I'm ridiculously excited by this!

I am currently living on a diet of bread, waffles, crisp sandwiches and the occasional apple. My tummy is huge, but I'm pretty certain it's bloating from all the carbs rather than the pregnancy - I very rarely eat carbs normally. Luckily we've just had a change around at the office and I'm sat with new people, so nobody has noticed the radical change in my diet as yet and probably just think I'm a bit of a piggy. Holiday in two weeks, and then I'll have my scan when I get back, so I can hopefully blame any changes on 2 weeks all inclusive for a while until I'm ready to start telling people.

So far, we've told parents and siblings (and two of my friends guessed as I wasn't drinking when we were out) but other than that it's still pretty much a secret. I just want to get through the first 12 weeks Grin

RiverRocks · 20/08/2014 10:02

Ooh...peanut butter... Envy

cinnamongreyhound · 20/08/2014 11:19

Congratulations WhatKatyDid29!

I used to sip milk with heartburn when pregnant, can bear gaviscon dancestomyowntune!

Glad the midwife isn't worried and that you've got another scan Misty414, just to relax for a couple of days now I know it's not going to happen but worth a try

1 to 2 is great bohoec, you very quickly get used to it and it's like dc2 has always been there! I loved cuddling up with ds1 read while feeding ds2. I had 3 1/2 years between mine so perhaps easier than those with smaller gaps.

Friends who've had elcs have had them at 39 weeks StuntNun :)

I'm similar Roastpots eating every hour or so to stop the nausea but have a very small tea and then want nothing after.

roastpots · 20/08/2014 11:20

river I'm the same - holiday in 2 weeks and then scan when I get back. Although my holiday is only a week - jealous of your 2 weeks R&R! Not long now....

ChickenMe · 20/08/2014 11:38

Cisforcat love hearts? Yum! I've been chomping extra strong mints for heart burn and nausea. And peppermint tea.

LadyNovember · 20/08/2014 12:00

Morning/afternoon everyone!

Jealous of those of you making it to 8 weeks etc, by my calculations I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow.. Envy although me has me at 7+1 today so I might get a scan earlier ha

Flowers and hugs for you, Misty414 hope things settle down real soon for you.

I had the most horrendous dream last night/this morning. I dreamt I was looking after two babies (they weren't mine?) and I DROPPED one down the stairs. Shock it was so realistic, I felt every bump and heard the skull crack at the bottom.. Blush what the F..brain?!

LadyNovember · 20/08/2014 12:00

I mean mw..not referring to myself as me ha

RozTheSchnoz · 20/08/2014 12:46

Hi all. Please can I join this thread? I'm expecting DC2 mid-April, got my PFP last Thursday. I'm 35, DH is 33. DS is 18mo.

Really appreciated the advice and support of the ante-natal boards first time round.

BananaToast · 20/08/2014 13:02

That's alright LadyNovember - I think I'm only 4+3 so this pregnancy will last forever. Jealous of you being nearly 6! Wishing the days away.

LadesC · 20/08/2014 13:33

Well just had my first mw appointment so all feels a bit real now! Got my notes n info pack and then shes coming to the house in a coupla weeks to go through everything. Cue frantic cleaning so she doest think im an unfit parent to beWink . Wondering whether to tell work as all these appointments are beginning to look a bit suss!!

Cassieyellow · 20/08/2014 13:42

Exciting lades! Welcome new people. Ahhhh vivid dreams! Dreading those! My imagination is bad enough as it is! So those worried and paranoid all the time...I was queuing at the supermarket checkout and literally could feel what I thought must be bleeding (!?! Prob wind!) so then started to get my head prepared for the worst..aren't we ridiculous. (Lucky for me it was fine but after so much spotting and bleeding last time round I always expect it!). Just thought I would share since I know lots of you are in a state of constant paranoia!

Katec15 · 20/08/2014 14:17

Hello!
I just found out I am pregnant and due April 8th, I'm so excited but also freaking out at the same time. I moved away from all my friends and family to live with my new husband, and am the first in my family and group of friends to have a baby so have no clue what I'm doing or what to expect and feel so far from my support network. And with all these hormones flooding my body I think it's sent me into panic mode! I'm not even sure what it is I am so afraid of, something going wrong maybe?
So nice to read all the messages from people in the same position as me, feel a lot calmer and less alone after sifting through that lot!
Xx
Kate

Gibbon85 · 20/08/2014 14:56

cassieyellow I'm doing the same thing- constantly thinking I'm bleeding, convincing myself of the worst, but so far it's been fine. We haven't told anyone yet, except my GP, so it's really nice to know other people are going through the same - even if it does seem to be stressing us all out a bit!

Siarie · 20/08/2014 15:09

Went to my doctors appointment today (for my antenatal referral). I managed to get my doctor to prescribe me cyclizine for bad morning sickness. I'm not feeling too bad yet but going to be going away in a week and a bit for two weeks, right around the 6-7 week drag.

So pleased I have it in my armoury just in case!

Siarie · 20/08/2014 15:10

Haha oh my I should have read up, I literally just queued ten minutes for the ladies toilets to check I wasn't bleeding. All fine though, I keep checking because there is so much CM!

LadyNovember · 20/08/2014 15:41

Ugh I agree..keep convincing myself I'm bleeding only to find CM...gross!

BananaToast · 20/08/2014 16:03

Same - I've been convinced all day I'm going to bleed because I'm wearing light coloured trousers.

Cassieyellow · 20/08/2014 16:38

Ah glad I shared that extremely weird moment. I guess you are the only ones who get it! Kate - don't worry! My husband and I moved across the country when I was 7 months pregnant plus he used to go away for work a lot too. But we managed fine (have a 10 month old). I often feel Billy no mates but it's easy to keep busy in baby world with all the activities you can do! Might spark debate but I did NCT classes so that I could meet people and luckily they are a fab group of girls, so would reccomend that. Probably wouldn't have bothered if had been back home but definitely worth it. Good luck!
