misty I'd go for a nice mattress now, being hot is only going to get worse as you get further along! If you do go for a new one don't forget that memory foam apparently isn't safe for cosleeping. (I didn't plan on cosleeping with DS but as it turned out it was the only way anyone got any sleep, so worth bearing in mind!)

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2014 20:37

Pregnancy is going to be the time you need to be most comfortable in bed. I was pretty lucky that once I was asleep I was mostly fine with both of mine but I know a lot of women aren't so lucky. And as JeewhizzJen says being too hot will only get worse!

Agree re memory foam mattresses being hot - I'm quite a cold person and am happy with a winter duvet most of the year, but at the moment I'm tossing and turning with just a sheet and the windows open. Didn't know that about co sleeping, luckily DD likes her own bed!

JeewizzJen · 30/08/2014 21:45

I think the toppers can be OK, however they shouldn't be too soft if a baby will sleep on it. I did a quick but by no means thorough Google and came up with attamama.com/2013/06/co-sleep-safely-and-comfortably/ Latex is probably fine though as long as there's no allergies Smile.

Of course the ability to have a baby sleep on it isn't the only reason to chose a mattress, just worth bearing in mind! Have fun shopping Grin

mamabear0315 · 30/08/2014 22:11

thanks for the reassurance @Stuntman and @Cinnamongreyhound ! :)
Makes me feel a lot better knowing at least the little one is getting what it needs!! I called the midwives lastnite actually and they gave me the same advise lol...baby will get what it needs out of me :)
& now surprisingly my body has done a complete 360 on me because I all of the sudden had the energy to wanna take DS to the zoo today and came home craving pizza!!! finally some food :D lol exactly one week till scan day!! woohoo!
Congrats & Welcome to the newcomers :)!!

JaneLouiseT · 30/08/2014 22:31

Hi I am 6 weeks tomorrow, estimated due date 26th April. I think I saw someone on the prev page with the same date? First baby so everything is exciting and scary at the same time! I am telling my immediate family tomorrow

catsofa · 30/08/2014 22:33

I just realised that white chocolate does not contain caffeine. WHOOP!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2014 22:58

Only trouble with white chocolate is that is doesn't taste nice Wink

I don't want to eat anything sweet at the moment :(

cinnamongreyhound · 30/08/2014 22:59

And congratulations JaneLouiseT!

catsofa · 31/08/2014 00:54

Morning everyone. Hope everyone with ms is getting a lie in!

We're on our way for the scan, only I've just realised that I don't have an email confirming the booking so worried it's not going to happen. DP and I have been arguing all morning because we're both so nervous and stressed! Confused

How's everyone feeling today?

Lindalove · 31/08/2014 10:48

Slept pretty well last night but have decided to start a relaxed health kick to try and improve overall energy levels. So was on the exercise bike this morning to get my heart & oxygen levels up. and got the juicer out again! Later on might do a bit of antenatal yoga too but not for a while/ until 12 week scan has come through safe & sound.
Am awaiting my doppler in the post! Husb found out I ordered it and is now saying I shouldn't use it as it will make me paranoid.... he may well be right. Am thinking maybe once a week use would be okay... assuming I can find a heart beat!
Tried my old bra on this morning and I am busting out so boobs are definitely growing. Also no belt needed on any trousers..

BananaToast · 31/08/2014 11:01

I'm still having a fair amount of brown cm every time I go to the toilet which is stressing me out. I feel like I'm just waiting for it all to go wrong Sad I've read lots on google and the consensus seems to be don't worry too much unless it's red blood, and at my scan I was told it's probably fine, but it's scary. Trying to have a quiet weekend to see if being lazy will help it stop.

ChickenMe · 31/08/2014 11:02

Good morning to all.
CareBear is it a private scan? Good luck. I always panic about arriving somewhere and they've never heard of you!!
This last week (I'm currently 9+2) has been 24-7 nausea and stupid food aversions. Have chucked up a few times. Things like the smell of the fridge, the freezer or the bin just make it worse. All the things I used to love (curries!) make me feel ill at the thought!!
And the disgusting mouth taste-urgh!
Obv I am very happy to be expecting just that this nausea is vile!!Envy

ChickenMe · 31/08/2014 11:05

Hope you are ok Banana think all you can do is either relax or do something to distract yourself. I had it but only for a short time - it is so worrying.

BananaToast · 31/08/2014 11:14

Thanks Chicken it's horrible isn't it. I'm almost wishing for nausea to hit so I have some reassurance - sure I'll change my mind if it actually does start. Hopefully it will pass for you soon.

CareBearWithFangs · 31/08/2014 11:45

Banana try not to worry to much, can you treat yourself to something nice to keep you distracted?

Chicken that sounds grim! I paid 40p this morning for the pleasure of throwing up in Leeds train station.

I am already crying before the scan has even started (in waiting room), this doesn't bode well! Yes it's a private scan.

BitchPeas · 31/08/2014 11:54

Fx for you CareBear

How long have you had the brown cm BananaToast? I had it yesterday, immediately feared the worst and spent pretty much the whole day mentally preparing myself that this wasnt going to happen.
Mine has stopped now, and I have had no cramps or pain. Feel better though i nearly fainted this morning!
A lazy weekend is definitely the way to go. Be kind to yourself. Thanks

Good luck with scan carebear!

BananaToast · 31/08/2014 12:57

Thanks all. I had it very lightly when my period should have been, then it stopped for a week and came back again very lightly for two days, then has been a bit heavier since Friday. Not enough to need a pad though. I haven't had any pain but every time I feel anything in my abdomen I start worrying!

Hope your scan went well CareBear
