Oh Phyrn, im so sorry.

RiverRocks · 29/08/2014 12:40

So sorry to hear your news mud, leo and phryn. Flowers for you all, and best wishes for sticky beans soon.

I had my booking in appointment yesterday, and have my 12 week scan booked for 18th September.

We go on holiday for 2 weeks from tomorrow, then only have 4 days after we get back to wait so I hope the time is going to fly by.

I think someone else had their scan booked for 18th September as well? Or was that a booking appointment? Can't remember, this thread moves so fast...

Cookiepants87 · 29/08/2014 13:10

River I've got my booking appt for the 17th? I know what you mean though about this thread moving so fast! Xx I'm sure the time will fly by for you xx

BananaToast · 29/08/2014 13:23

I had my scan this morning and they saw a gestational sac and yolk sac but no embryo yet so dated me around 5 weeks and booked me in for another scan in two weeks when they would expect to see baby and heartbeat. I thought I was 5+5 today but looks like I may be a few days earlier. Was really hoping for something more conclusive today but knew it was unlikely at this stage. Just got to sit and wait it out until my next scan.

mswibble · 29/08/2014 13:28

Ive got my 1st appt with the midwife on September 18th, I'll be 8+6 by then.
Seriously considering an early scan the week before though. Im driving myself mad - wildly veering between feeling excited and daydreaming about all the loveliness to come, and then being on the verge of tears as im convinced it wont happen.

wawabear · 29/08/2014 13:36

Hi SquattingNeville

Officially I'm 7+5 when counting from the date of my last period but I have been counting from conception.

My last period was 6th July but when we had our scan the sonographer said she could tell I was less than 5 weeks (that was last week) - from conception I am 5+5.

Just checked again and my official EDD is 16th April xx

CareBearWithFangs · 29/08/2014 13:43

Phryn, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so so unfair. Take care of yourself.

So I've been to the doctors this morning and apparently I have viral vertigo. Nothing to do with the pregnancy and shouldn't do any harm either. I'm just going to feel crap for a few weeks! So if you discount my dizziness the only real symptom in having is my massive boobs.

Super scared for the scan on Sunday. I keep getting tempted to look at baby stuff and then have to stop myself because I know I shouldn't until we know everything is ok.

dancestomyowntune · 29/08/2014 13:48

can anybody tell me if mozzarella cheese is ok to eat? i have a hankering for mozzeralla and tomato on toast but i'm not sure if i should!

Chococroc · 29/08/2014 13:55

Ive had a bit of a rollercoaster of a week. Had some spotting on Tuesday, only very little but still enough to make me panic. My GP got me straight in and then referred me to the EPAU, but the first appointment was this morning - cue what seemed like one of the longest weeks I've ever had.
Had a scan this morning, was convinced it was going to be bad news but pleased to say that everything's in the right place and we saw the heartbeat, such a relief!

luna - I'm under consultant care already so probably not the best person to judge it on. Will have the usual appointment with the community midwife in a couple of weeks, but I'm already being seen fortnightly and future scans will be through them.

Siarie · 29/08/2014 13:55

Nhs website says is fine to eat.

cookie yeah so you need to make sure you get the little plastic bits on your pressure points :)

I wish I could stop producing so much CM, keep having to check it's not blood!

dancestomyowntune · 29/08/2014 14:00

thanks Siarie

thats interesting that you are having fortnightly scans chocorocks i appear to be in the same boat although they haven't officially said so atm. got my first app with the community midwife on thursday, but already know.care will be consultant led due to kidneys and blood pressure.

Siarie · 29/08/2014 14:01

My GP said I may end up under consultant care as I have thyroid problems related to my immune system. Anyone else got thyroid issues and under just midwife care?

curiousjess · 29/08/2014 15:02

littleluna89 · 29/08/2014 15:10

choco how on earth did you get in with the consultant so fast if you've not seen the midwife yet, teach me your skills!

Chococroc · 29/08/2014 15:13

luna no special skills I'm afraid, I'm type 1 diabetic, so I've been getting pre conception care from the diabetes centre since last year. So as soon as I got my BFP I was booked straight in for the diabetes antenatal service.

BitchPeas · 29/08/2014 15:20

So sorry Phryn Fx for you in the future. Be kind to yourself.

Look after yourself carebear that sounds rough! Fx for your scan too!

That sounds like a rough week choco glad you saw a heartbeat!

littleluna I'm under a consultant as well, seeing him next week before midwife. In my case, he sent me a letter after my TFMR asking me to call him and arrange a scan/consultation for week 7 or 8 in all future pregnancies, maybe it's the same kind of thing? My booking in with midwife is the week after but am the same as choco with fortnightly appointments and scans with consultant.
Have you had your booking in yet? Could you call midwife if you are worried?

BitchPeas · 29/08/2014 15:22

Oops cross post with choco

LondonBlondie · 29/08/2014 15:54

Hello people! I'm 29, been married for 2 years and TCC for 18 months- now 7w pregnant with my first baby by using Clomid- the miracle drug!

Waiting for my GP appointment to get an exact EDD but looks like 17-19 April 2015. Does anyone know a reliable way of dating this?

Because of my fertility issues, I saw my consultant yesterday for an early scan and now have a photo of my little bean. It was amazing seeing the heartbeat, now feels very real!

But SO scared of things not working out... Sad

Does anyone know the chances of miscarriage if you can see a heartbeat at 7 weeks?

cinnamongreyhound · 29/08/2014 16:33

So sorry to hear your news Phryn, was reallt hoping all would be ok. Glad we've been some comfort and that you don't need medical intervention. Take care of yourself and definitely let us know when you get your BFP Thanks

Glad you got some answers carebearwithfangs, hope it buggers off quickly for you.

I think it's fine dancestomyowntune, it's boiled isn't it? I think soft cheeses is because of how they're matured so you have a risk of listeria.

Congratulations wawabear, LondonBlondie, curiousjess and Firsttimer9981!

We had a much better journey home, glad to be back but wore myself out putting everything away and ended up feeling really sick. Boo to work on Monday and can I just say ms is the most pointless thing ever!!! Why make you feel sick when you need all your strength to grow a baby Angry

LadyNovember · 29/08/2014 16:44

So sorry to hear your news Phryn :( please look after yourself, you need to be in tip top shape for your next BFP which I'm sure will be very soon. We're definitely all rooting for you xx

FizzyBubbly · 29/08/2014 16:44

Welcome Londonblondie and congrats on your BFP!

Siarie, I've got an underactive thyroid with antibodies present (is that the same as you?) Don't have my booking in appt for another 10days yet so don't know if I'm midwife or consultant. Looking through my pregnancy notes from last time, one of the tick boxes was for uncontrolled thyroid issues, so I'm guessing that if it's stable and I'm having regular blood tests I will fx be under midwife care.

On another note, one of the other tick boxes (if ticked you need consultant care) was for if you needed a blood transfusion after a previous birth... I had a bad 2.5litre PPH and needed a transfusion last time due to a 'vaginal graze'. Surely that sort of thing wouldn't affect future births and bring with it the need of a consultant?? Got my heart set on a water birth again (didn't work out first time!)

AnniaFausta · 29/08/2014 16:46

Hi all - I've just joined the site because I'm pregnant with my first child and am starting to drive myself up the wall by worrying about every possible thing that could go wrong! I'm really not very good at waiting for things to just happen naturally. We've not told anyone apart from the medical professionals yet... but by my calculations I'm looking at an 18th April due date. I've had the booking-in appointment and am now waiting to be called for the first scan when hopefully some of my more off-the-wall nerves will be calmed down.

RiverRocks · 29/08/2014 16:50

London, there's a site which calculates risk based on how far along you are. Someone linked to it earlier on the thread, can't remember when though, sorry.

Research has shown that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of the pregnancy continuing are 78%.

A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that goes up to 99.4%. here

Cisforcat · 29/08/2014 17:30

Fizzy I've just had my booking app and was really surprised to hear they were referring me to a consultant due to previous PPH after 3 day induction ( they thought my uterus was just worn out from a 3 day labour) and because I'd had a previous coloposcopy. ( never referred me last pregnancy!) so I'm just going to wait and see. She did say they prob just want to see me and then they'll discharge me back to midwife led care.

9+2 today so now just waiting a scan date. Just been sick again however the meds are def helping as I'm feeling much less rotten. ( but still rather naff!). I'm like others and desperately worried if all is ok but we don't have a spare £100 to throw at a scan so just trying to patiently wait a 12 week one. Last preg was fine so I'm trying to refer to that to calm myself. What will be will be as they say !

So sorry to hear mud, phyro and others news. Sending a big hug and will look out for your updates. Best of luck to you all.
