Thanks for the answer ill ask my go when I goSmile

Oh no mud! FX everything's ok, big hugs xx

LadyNovember · 22/08/2014 17:44

Hope everything is ok Mud. Try not to worry, remember that's spotting is very common and in regards to the cb, you could be wrong on your conception date and implantation could've taken longer so don't get yourself in a mess just yet. Call your epu. Big hugs xxx

Minstrelle · 22/08/2014 17:46

Sorry to hear that mud, definitely go and get checked out.

I've managed to get my booking appointment sorted with the midwife, which seems like the smallest step in a long journey. I'll (fingers crossed), be 8+3 when I go and see her, so I hope that's about right. The receptionist tried to offer me an appointment next week!, but I said I thought it was a bit early (6+2) - even though I really want someone other than DH to acknowledge this massive thing in my life.. (and I know they won't, it's all very standard, but it's obviously a big deal to me!!

I am fast becoming the typically early pregnant one - I have a whole packet of Cream Crackers in my desk drawer. If anyone catches me eating them, I am going to look very odd. Luckily my office is tucked out of the way a bit.

Hope you're all feeling well otherwise and have good plans for the BH weekend!!

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 18:05

Mistrelle I have a "snack pack" with me that I carry around in my bag - a big sandwich bag full of plain crackers, ginger oat biscuits, a dried fruit bar (that's not been touched, funnily enough!) etc. Also carrying around water wherever I go. I was feeling so rough yesterday morning that I actually asked someone for their seat on the tube - felt like such a fraud!

BrixtonBunny · 22/08/2014 18:06

Mud that sounds really stressful but try not to worry too much - as others say lots of people get bleeding, I think around 30% xxx

ladyflower23 · 22/08/2014 18:09

Yes mud give the epu a call and see what they say.
I was around 6 weeks when the sickness started but some days I don't seem to have any so that makes me feel nice and panicky.
Nice to hear of your successful scans Linda and misty Smile

Cisforcat · 22/08/2014 18:34

Ladyflower don't panic. I've had awful nausea this preg from 5+4 days but with my DD I had nothing and she's just perfect!
I'm on meds this time for sickness and been out in reduced hrs at work already!

Every preg is different so don't worry. Just count yourself lucky as I have felt so so awful I wouldn't wish it on anyone!
Haven't been able to look after my 7 month DD very well as I've been so ill. I feel sooooooo guilty and I'm convinced she hates me! Just hoping this passes quickly as the poor thing is far too young to understand and as she is crawling everywhere it hasn't made life easy!

scratchandsniff · 22/08/2014 18:34

Just caught up, took a while Smile

Someone said about feeling emotional, well I've been having a good blub at practically everything the last couple of days. Nausea has increased, but thankfully not as bad as when I had DS. Hoping it doesn't get any worse, its manageable at the moment. Much tired this time round.

Sorry my post is very woe is me. Blaming it on the hormones Grin

BonjourMinou · 22/08/2014 19:28

Ugh I take it back about the nausea, it's just hit me. I feel a combination of wooziness and relief that the morning sickness has finally hit Confused

Also hoping baby will settle soon as I don't want to go back up!

CareBearWithFangs · 22/08/2014 20:12

Mud I hope your ok. Spotting is common in pregnancy but give your epu a call.

Hooray for good scans Smile. Mines not til next Sunday and time is going so slowly.

After work today I was so hungry and light headed I bought 2 pork pies and are them immediately one after the other on my way to pick DD up from nursery. Think I need to make myself a snack pack like Brixton.

Also lots of sympathy to everyone struggling with other DC's. DD is at that threenager stage and I feel like I'm constantly about to lose my temper. We're not a shouty family at all but I've raised my voice quite a few times over the past few days. Confused

StopEatingThatMud · 22/08/2014 20:40

Thanks everyone, I've only just got home and I'm 90% sure EPU is only open weekday daytimes so out of luck there (typical bank holiday weekend too!) Still spotting but I had similar with DD, I think around this time too so I'm hoping as others have said maybe it's just one of the wierd and wonderful things my body does in pregnancy.

My cycle is a bit hit and miss, was tracking my periods for the last year or so and they varied from 26 to 34 days.

If DD ever goes to bed I think a bath and an early night is on the cards and see what tomorrow brings. I have work in the morning assuming everything's ok so probably not a bad plan anyway.

bohoec · 22/08/2014 21:12

Oh Mud, I'm sorry you're going through the mill a bit. If you had spotting with your DD then it may just be something your body does, as you say. Hope you feel well enough to go to work - depending on how you feel about your job being busy might be just the thing to take your mind off it all. Fingers crossed it's nothing to be worried about.

Loz, from what I remember with DD, you fill the form out with the midwife at the booking in appt, no need to do it before.

Hope everyone's doing ok. Nausea over here. I had it with DD until about 18 weeks Confused

Cookiepants87 · 22/08/2014 21:23

Hope all you ladies suffering with morning sickness feel better soon! I haven't had too much today, jut super tiredness have been having slight cramping on and off!! It's Friday night and I'm about ready to go to bed at 9:30!!! gotta be up early as we are probably going to be doing a bit of decorating (updating our bedroom) so will need all my energy! Hmmmmmph... ConfusedConfusedConfused

Phryn · 22/08/2014 22:29

Thinking of you mud... I feel for you (and the frustration of EPU timing and bank holidays!) I'm really hoping it's the body doing random things in the name of a continuing pregnancy as my body is doing the same too! I had a week of spotting, then a week of nothing and then this evening the spotting restarted and is a bit heavier than before (I can feel it coming out if you know what I mean). It's more of a brown hue mixed in with CM. I really hope I'm not miscarrying. I know there is nothing I can do about it if I am but it somehow feels scarier to be spotting again when I haven't for a week. I'm not cramping so I hope that's a good sign! Prayers/ good vibes/ crossed fingers all appreciated.

BananaToast · 22/08/2014 22:36

Will keep my fingers crossed for you Phryn, if it's just a brownish cm with no cramping then it could be completely innocent. Take care.

StopEatingThatMud · 23/08/2014 06:54

Oh Phryn I have everything crossed for you! It's rotten isn't it, I feel like I can't think about anything else and poor old DD is getting the worst of me :(

misty I thought the same with it being so early, I guess it's just a sit it out and wait and see scenario. It's the waiting that's the worst bit! Very much considering an early scan now if we get that far. My hospital didn't offer them last time but do them for £75 at weekends now.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and wishes, means a lot.

Lindalove · 23/08/2014 07:13

Morning all - so I ended up having half a glass of champagne last night, argh. I'm at my friends wedding and it was bride & bridesmaids night last night (I'm one of the latter) and one of the girls bought a bottle for a toast. I'd have looked a right mardy cow to say no.
I'm sure it's okay as I sipped it slowly and was eating but it was either half a glass or be forced to spill the beans. Today is the wedding, I'm hoping to get away with a lot of 'holding' wine glasses then quietly passing them to husb to drink.
The deceit is hard to manage! Any tips ladies?

Gibbon85 · 23/08/2014 07:19

Thinking of you mud and phryn - really hope everything goes ok for you.

I'm a whole 6 weeks today - can't believe we've only known about it for 9 days- feels like I've thought of nothing else for ages! Not much to show for it yet and feel like poas again but dh has convinced me to save the one I brought with us to the middle of nowhere incase something actually happens! He's probably right Smile

Congrats to peeps on the good news from their scans!

dancestomyowntune · 23/08/2014 07:42

sorry to hear your having a hard time mud. when i was bleeding last weekend the nurse at epu advised against taking baths/swimming/using tampons or having sex. something to do with risk of infection and pushing the blood back up. Sad

i'm hoping i can actually get some stuff done today. been so washed out that the house is a tip Sad i hate living in a pigsty.

Cookiepants87 · 23/08/2014 07:52

Linda I'm sure half a glass won't hurt... How far along are you? I think glass holding is a good too, or you could say you're the designated driver? You could also just but cokes and if anyone asks you can say you're drinking vodka and coke or pick another soft drink of your choice?

I too am looking for tips as we have a busy few weekends coming up and aren't ready to tell yet! I'm only 4+6 and haven't had a drs appt yet to let them know I'm pregnant so am certainly not ready to tell people! We are camping next weekend with SIL and kiddies, weekend after that we are visiting MIL and my sister (hoping she's had her baby by then) then seeing FIL the FOLLOWING weekend then we are on holiday with the WHOLE of my family! (Fingers crossed and all being well I should be 9+3 when we go abroad)

Like Linda.... I too am looking for tips! Smile Xxx

Lindalove · 23/08/2014 08:04

I have been buying non alcoholic beer in pubs and passing it off as real - many pubs don't do non- alcoholic ones though :( . The whole 'asking hubby loudly to buy a G&T' works well too as of course hubby then just buys a tonic.
It's so hard in those really focused moments like last night though. I'm 8 weeks today. I do intend to have a small glass of wine a week with dinner after 12 weeks, but have been trying my best to abstain until then.

Cookiepants87 · 23/08/2014 08:11

Yeah the non alcoholic beer works well! I particularly like becks blue Smile that's good that your hubby knows to just order you a tonic... Like a secret code! I must get me one of those lol! Awwww 8 weeks! That seem ages away from where I'm sat at just under 5 weeks! Grin I'm sure you'll have lots of fun at the wedding and just enjoy yourself! Enjoy all the tonics and watching everyone else getting drunk whilst you stay sober is quite funny! Xx Smile

Wineandchoccy · 23/08/2014 09:16

mud and phyrn I hope you are both ok, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed.

When I was pregnant earlier in the year we had 2 weddings to attend and I drank lime and lemonade or lime and soda and pretended there was vodka in it, it's not a drink I normally gave but I was wearing a pale pink dress and said I didn't want to stain my dress if I spilt Grin
