Hello

Having had 5 mcs and 1 DD I am not feeling very hopeful (juest realistic) even though I am doing different things than before...

4w today and on cyclogest pessaries since CD21...

Maybe we could have a separate thread to the biiiig one so we don't scare the others with our (my) negativity...

Welcome

TinyTear, 40, 1 DD, 5mcs, due in April but don't want to know the exact day...

Congratulations tiny on your good scan and your baby girl x

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with trapped wind? It seems to be my new pregnancy symptom and I was up most of the night in agony, I woke dp up at 2 am and begged him to burp me like a baby Blush not my finest moment but I was desperate

LittleBairn · 07/10/2014 11:18

Tiny thanks good to know I don't need to blow up my bladder will make for a more comfortable wait.

smilng PMSL nothing much worked for me but sometimes squats and lunges helped.
My problem at the moment is that bubbles keep forming inside my mouth Hmm I then swallow them giving me tummy ache.

TinyTear · 07/10/2014 11:19

smiling yep, maybe try squatting... or going to the quietest most unfortunate place (a church?) and it will come out... Grin

I tried rocking on all fours, I was burping constantly but it just didnt help, poor dp just sighed, sat up and sat shaking his head as his girlfriend rolled across his lap and begged him to slap her back Blush

its a good job he loves me Grin

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 07/10/2014 11:42

tiny im helping in school this afternoon so im sure the last of the wind will decide to evacuate my poor stomach.

they arent kinding when they say pregnancy takes away your dignity Wink

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 07/10/2014 11:43

*kidding not kinding

jbee1979 · 07/10/2014 11:57

Try peppermint tea, smiling, I had this last Saturday, after half a cup the wind snuck out in a very unlady like fashion - DH was VERY impressed Smile

that's some good scan news today! and congratulations on your new daughter Tiny Smile

I have my booking appt tonight at 6.45. DH is coming with me so I'm not sooooo terrified - more excited and nervous. I feel pregnant - nausea, vomiting from time to time, sore boobs, peeing 8 times a night...

I want a good scan for my DH - he's not seen his baby wriggle before - I did last time at 9+4 but by 12+4 there was no heartbeat and everything was still - I'm sure that haunts him. (I have to stop comparing and referring to "the last time") I don't like the shadow hanging over us.

everything crossed :-) omg this is such a long day!! Smile

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 07/10/2014 13:09

Oh peppermint tea why didnt I think of that Confused

Glad your DP is going to the booking appointment jbee my booking appointment seems like ages ago, ive got my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow.

I know what you mean about last time being like a shadow, ive made a conscious effort to stop comparing but its hard, especially at 3am which is when I seem to wake up.

lila35 · 07/10/2014 14:05

Ahhha girl!! Congratulations!!

Good luck on your scans later!!

I get an awful lot of wind to, although I think it would be better if it came up instead of coming out the other endWink

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/10/2014 14:50

Tiny congratulations on your good scan. And how fab that your DH was there too :)

Best of luck with your scan Little.

I've got my 12 week scan next week and its states full bladder. Actually all of my NHS scans had be carried out on a full bladder apart from the blooming FMC one...and look how that turned out!

Shetland · 07/10/2014 15:15

london you should be ok for SMP then :)

Great news tinytear :)

I now have no trousers that do up - I'm watching some mat stuff on eBay but I'm not buying anything until after Fridays scan.

lila35 · 07/10/2014 18:14

Was anyone else up at stupid oclock this morning? I was awake from 330 till 6...i may have got a little stroppy and indulged in tea and toast, I have never got through so many books!!

I am considering booking a gender scan for 16/17 weeks, my 20 week one feels like such a long way off!!

14+4

LittleBairn · 07/10/2014 18:54

Scan was fine baby measuring perfectly at 12+3 so inline with my dates.
It wasn't a particularly clear view, should have drank more water! She really hurt me digging in but she was also very kind and went out of her way to get accurate as possible dates which I appreciate.

My problem right now Bubbles. Seriously I'm not sure why on earth but my silva keeps forming into bubbles, swallowing them makes me feel ill, so I need to keep spitting. Even spitting into a hankie it was full of bubbles. WTF did I accidentally sleepwalk and down some fairy liquid?!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 07/10/2014 19:14

Congrats tiny and little on the scan news and how lovely to know it's a little girl already tiny!

I'm having a stressful time here (nothing bean/pregnancy related) We found out last night that our beautiful sweet dog is going blind. Such a shock and it's happened so quickly. He's only five and already has skin allergies and severe arthritis. I'm so sad for him though he's acting like nothing has changed. I've been crying for about 24 hours and am exhausted.

I've also just had a glass of milk hoping it would settle my stomach and am freaking out as there were a few tiny lumps in the bottom of the glass. It smelt and tasted absolutely fine but now I'm panicking that I'm going to make myself poorly as I had it on my cereal too. Just blu bed on DH's shoulder about it when he got in from work.

My h&m maternity jeans order has just arrived and I had a cry about that too.

Haven't got out of my PJs today (still of sick from work), my eyes hurt from scratching and I'm just generally feeling very sorry for myself :( Sorry for the me me me post!

chiliplant · 07/10/2014 19:47

TinyTear · 07/10/2014 20:08

LittleBairn · 07/10/2014 20:10

oneday sorry about the dog. I often have food freak outs and doubts about perfectly safe food.

I'm having a minor panic Blush its all sooo real now. I'm really doing it again. I would be devastated to loose another but my real worry is the medical complications that come along with such late MC. I know I'm being awfully self centred but I just don't want to spend any more time hospitalised having all sorts done to my body.
Who knows I might get a Christmas miracle and get to 24 weeks. Must start reading my Bible everyday see if I can score some brownie points...

Shetland · 07/10/2014 20:18

Great news on your scan little :)

Sorry about your dog oneday :(

TinyTear · 07/10/2014 20:33

Sorry about the dog one day

Great news on a good scan little
Did you manage to talk to someone about stitching you up? One thing is the three early MCs rule for investigation but late losses like yours should be treated after the first!!

OP posts:
smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 07/10/2014 21:32

Good news little Grin

oneday im sorry about your dog, has the vet given you any reason for it happening? I had a beagle that went blind at 18mths she adapted really well so its not always bad news.

if your near kent there is a fantastic vet that specialises in eyes in canterbury.

LittleBairn · 07/10/2014 22:10

Tiny it was only the typical 12 week scan. In 2 weeks I see the consultant and he will scan me this is when I will bombard him. I'm also going to demand a blood flow scan I had no idea this could be done and its never been suggested. I checked today and they do it but it needs consultant approval.

They are rather evasive when we have questioned them (DH was rather blunt at one point pointing out some of the reasoning seemed to be based on finances) on it but yes I do think they try and use the 3 MC rule, considering I almost died with DD you would think they would pull their finger out!
The good thing is I had plenty of warning with both (well of you ignore DS loosing his amnotic sac) so hopefully this will give them time to react and find a treatment this is why we have moved to a new hospital they come across as more pro active. And I make kick ass babies they fight right till the end.

A Postive from me I'm half way to my 24 week goal!

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/10/2014 23:49

Fab news Little :)

Oneday really sorry about your dog.

Ladies, what are the 3 rules of miscarriage?

Shetland · 08/10/2014 06:35

Whch vet is that smiling ?

TinyTear · 08/10/2014 06:59

The rule of 3 is that the NHS will only investigate after 3 in a row. Which is quite harrowing in later losses...

Little good thinking. Nearly at 24
Will be here in no time

Yesterday at the royal free they did the blood flow Doppler scan too

I think in late 11 with my DD I helped train some sonographers as I had extra scans with teachers and students

I love it being a teaching hospital as I also learn from hearing the explanation s

Thanks all. Feeling more positive about it all today. smiling we're near Cambridge and have an appt with a doggy opthalmolgist on Friday morning to find out more. We'll deal with the vision loss, I just pray it's not a tumour or something more sinister.
