In our area they test for GBS at the booking in appointment. I tested positive for this pregnancy (negative with dd). I'll get tested again at the end of august. Also going to get my platelet levels retested as they were super high at booking in bloods.

Baby's doing a jig just in time for bedtime!

Somersetgirl1990 · 05/08/2014 22:15

Mine is always super active at night - does this mean I'm going to have a nocturnal baby? Confused

Cuppachaplz · 05/08/2014 22:30

somers, my DS was super active most of the time. People said that the opposite happened when they were born, but I assumed they were trying to make me feel better, however as it happened he slept through from 7 until 7 or 8 with me waking him for a last feed from about a week old, so maybe there is something in it :)
I'm hoping this is true as this LO is pretty active too (especially evenings and at night :-S)

littlepickly · 05/08/2014 22:38

Somerset I'm doing a lazy daisy antenatal class which is elements of yoga, hypnotherapy and relaxation - I wanted to do some relaxation stuff as think it could be really helpful especially as I'm hoping for a home birth, first class was last week and I loved it, especially the 20 mins deep relaxation lay down at the endGrin

CatFaceCrayola · 05/08/2014 22:41

What's a GBS test?

Went to a regular yoga class today (and the woman altered some moves for me). Felt amazing after the class but am so so achey again now.

happy moment earlier. DH was lying with his head on my lap. Bubble made a huge jerky movement which DH felt. Cue him leaping around the room shouting "Bubble just kicked me in the head"

:)

ImBrian · 05/08/2014 22:41

I need hypno therapy to stop eating! I literally can't stop even though I'm not hungry. My bum and thighs are rapidly expanding and I know I'll feel even worse about it once babies here plus it's not helping my varicose veins or sciatica.

Any one got any tips on how to stop being a complete pig?

CatFaceCrayola · 05/08/2014 22:43

Gah sorry. double post. MN or my phone has been playing up.

Baby is becoming more and more active at night.

Just had a mega stomach cramp thingy. Is this Branston Hicks?

Shanels · 05/08/2014 22:54

Hi everyone

miraculous so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you.

What is a gbs test guys?

I know what you all mean by the tiredness- not as bad as first trimester but there enough to not be able to avoid it.

My tachycardia is tiring me out and have another heart scan next week.my sore kidneys are improving- apparently it's normal during pregnancy.

I'm finding these past two weeks emotionally hard. Are any of you suffering from anger issues? I keep losing my rag at the smallest thing which then kicks off my heart rate and makes me ill. I don't know how to stop getting angry. I'm worried about baby's health because of me losing my temper.

Sx

Ladylel · 05/08/2014 22:57

Thanks for the lovely messages peeps. Basically Ernies placenta is working for him ATM but the blood flow isn't flowing through as freely as it should. ATM it's fine tho but things could change it's just a waiting game. I'm on a twins fb page and the girls on there have been ever so helpful, people who have had similar experiences with premature delivery with positive outcomes. I feel better but I don't think I'm going to shift the uncertain feeling. I wish I had a crystal ball!

*catface it does sound like bractons, I had it a few weeks back stomach went tight and almost felt bloated, didn't last long but was the best feeling - not really had it since.

shanels my emotions have been a roller coaster. Feel like I need to carry a sign that says angry pregnant woman beware or something.

imbrian I have taken up loom band making! not just bracelets but little pea pods and stuff. Keeps my hands busy stops me picking food I don't need. Lol

I tell you what I have been overly tired lately. So sleep is calling and off I go. Sweet dreams girlies xx

GBS = Group B Strep

DrewsWife · 06/08/2014 08:18

Good morning ladies and bumps.

Today by the feel of it.. I will mostly be receiving kicks in the fanny....... Grrrrr. So uncomfortable!!!!!!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 06/08/2014 11:08

I have nicknamed the baby thumper. Shes been booting me awake for the last few days. Grin

CatFaceCrayola · 06/08/2014 11:16

Slept terribly last night. Aches and pains all round the stomach area (hopefully nothing to worry about).

Next doors stupid mutt is constantly yapping as always, can't run away and go out today though. The house won't clean itself . currently washing all the sofa cushions so perched on a camp chair.

Off for a brew with some similarly pregnant friends later though . should be nice.

22+3

CatFaceCrayola · 06/08/2014 11:17

And...I spotted what looks like the beginning of a stretch mark above my belly button this morning :/ it begins.

Anyone else got belly stretch marks yet?

DrewsWife · 06/08/2014 11:21

I have the a-z of London from my first time. Seriously looked like a zebra. Unsure what will happen this time with stretch marks. I'm fat this time. Wink I was a size 8 first time. Body never snapped back. I will just be glad to have my tummy remain 2 sizes baggier. That will be a result

Somersetgirl1990 · 06/08/2014 12:02

Catface you don't live next door to me do you? Grin Were looking after two dogs and one of them didn't stop yapping all night Confused felt very sorry for my dp who had to be up for work at 4.30 this morning.

No stretch marks yet! I've been using bio oil everyday and my mum didn't get any stretch marks so I'm hoping that I might escape them. When do they generally start to appear?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 06/08/2014 12:05

OBEM marathon on Really at the moment. It makes me homesick because it's the old series filmed in Southampton!
DH hates me watching it, but I can't help myself!

Ladylel · 06/08/2014 12:05

23 +1

I feel so emotional today. After yesterday's news I don't think it sunk in. I reread the report and made myself feel really down. All I have are bloody statistics rolling around in my head.

I've swollen up today. I've had to take my rings off for respite. My feet and calves feel stretched. I do have a desk review at work so hopefully this will ease any ailments that I have by sitting at my desk.

I think I am emotionally:mentally drained it's not even like I had a bad nights sleep, it was fairly decent. Ah man. :(

You're bound to be feeling a bit shaken after yesterdays news ladylel don't be too hard on yourself and take it easy.

I need to listen to my own advice. Don't know what's up with me today. Am trying to get some house work done. But just moving from one room to another is leaving me lightheaded, dizzy and out of breath

Hugmonster82 · 06/08/2014 12:40

Thanks for the OBEM tip. 'Working' from home today. The working bit may have just gone out of the window! Only problem is it makes me cry every time. Damn hormones!
Sorry you feel so rubbish ladylel. Everything about pregnancy is terrifying so natural to worry especially when they throw statistics at you. At least they're keeping a close eye on you.
23 weeks today!

oohdaddypig · 06/08/2014 12:41

ladylel don't be hard on yourself. it's bad enough being pregnant, and then when there is a whiff of a problem, it's way worse. Is the plan to get the twins as far along as possible?

I'm loving OBEM too. It's made me want an epidural this time round. I've had two large babies with no pain relief - i want one of those injections in my spine please!!

I think stretch marks are a luck of the draw thing. I have never had them. I don't say this with any smugness, given the wealth of other problems I suffer (I write this in the knowledge my prolapse seems to be worsening). Hmm

Baby hiccuped last night - all night it felt. First time I've felt this one hiccup. It's truly odd. My last pair hiccuped the entire pregnancy, so it was reassuring almost this one has decided to do so now too...

ImBrian · 06/08/2014 13:39

Stretch marks are supposed to be down to genetics, I got them on my bum and thighs in my first pregnancy but my stomach has so far remained clear. The skin always went back to normal as well apart from last time when it was slightly wrinkly. I've always had a flat stomach but I think I'll have ran out of luck this time.

Loom bands are great/horrible haha. I have an 8 year old who has me making all sorts. I also find the bloody things every where!

Catface it sounds like Braxton hicks, I get them fairly regularly. A tight slightly I comfy feeling low down which lasts about 5/10 seconds. Bump feels tight as well. Mine always get stronger as the bump gets bigger and towards the end I get 'runs' of them. Good for practicing breathing to though.

htbftm · 06/08/2014 14:42

Crikey, you've been a busy bunch lol, just catching up! take it easy ladylel, the need is still fresh and its normal to worry. give yourself some time for it to sink in! definitely rolling over in stages here, and have (new) stretch marks on tummy and thighs! nice! I have been getting some bh, they make me feel a bit flushed, but I can't actually feel my tummy tightening from the outside. I also defo have big days and small days with my bump size, it is a bit random! have only put on 3kgs since booking in at 5wks, and now 22 wks today- do you think that's ok? baby measured fine at 20wk scan.

Hugmonster82 · 06/08/2014 15:12

All this talk of stretch marks and I had to go and smother myself in more cream. None yet but I do have a rapidly disappearing belly button. DH keeps calling my belly the fatty and belly button the flattie. Charming!
