You answered my question as I posted Sasseh! Still don't fully trust Facebook though!

SassehMonsta · 19/08/2014 22:15

I love natural sounding names, though we already know a Hazel & a Rowan - both siblings of very close friends! Our boys name is actually also an obscure Buffy reference - Caleb, who is an evil preacher dude or something. And we love Freya.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/08/2014 22:15

Aw Hazel is my DH's grandmother's name too!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/08/2014 22:15

And my grandmother had a nature name too, but she forbade me from using it, because she hated it! It's dead trendy now, though! Grin

Hugmonster82 · 19/08/2014 22:27

Loving the Buffy references. We thought about Eliza until I realised that the main reason DH likes it is because of Eliza Dushku. Also the main reason he likes Buffy!

CatFaceCrayola · 19/08/2014 22:32

I love names with Zs

Missjasper · 19/08/2014 22:52

Please tell me someone is planning on calling it spike! That would just be awesome haha!!
We are rather more reserved and loving Holly and Zack at the mo......

Missjasper · 19/08/2014 22:56

Incidentally I've just eaten an entire box of Jaffa cakes and now got major heartburn. I would say that'll teach me, but it won't!

CatFaceCrayola · 19/08/2014 23:01

My DH is a big Eliza Dushku fan. I've not watched all of Buffy (and am rubbish at remembering names) but when DH read my initial possible names list he actually said "what's with all the Buffy themed names". At least Buffy wasn't on the list!!

And I totally think someone should go for Spike!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/08/2014 23:18

I had a cat named after Spike from Buffy!

Ladylel · 19/08/2014 23:42

My DH is/was a big buffy fan and kept going on about Xander (which is ok and goes nicely with Rueben tbh) and I kept saying spike and he disliked it majorly altho I did you say need to imagine what they'd be like as a lawyer or doctor and funnily enough I was in an seminar and a doctor was called Spike something or other.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/08/2014 23:52

Didn't your DH want Chandler as well as Xander? Or did I make that up?

Bettycakes80 · 19/08/2014 23:55

My favourite names were Willow and Xander but I was told I can't impose my Buffy obsession on our yet to be born child!

CatFaceCrayola · 20/08/2014 00:05

Ha ha. Wonder if we're the only thread full of Buffy names??

I've just rather unexpectedly come over queasy and thrown up :/ guess that explains the crampy stomach earlier (probably with added nervous belly for tomorrows holiday)

got 25 week midwife app too in the morning

PunkyPod · 20/08/2014 06:17

Thanks for setting up the FB group Ladylel. I will start thinking of an un-Mumsnet name.... As Monkey2 said I'm still in my dd's FB group from 2 years ago. There are regular meet ups and I am in almost daily contact with one particular mum on there. It's fab for keeping threads together and I love the idea of a swaps option! But I totally understand reluctance to join. I for one will post in both places for sure. My dd's FB group really came into it's own post-birth when all the photos came through. And it's a totally secret group, only members know it exists. Anyhooo I have requested to join. I'm carrying dd in a wrap in my profile pic.

Pelvis is still giving me grief. Last full day of holiday now. Am sad it's almost over....Hmm

SassehMonsta · 20/08/2014 07:26

Anyone else having vivid dreams still? Just had 2 baby related ones, second one very negative towards breastfeeding & I've woken up feeling quite low about it. Obviously my subconcious is worried I wont be able to & people will laugh because its obvious - stupid brain!

DrewsWife · 20/08/2014 08:00

Off to the docs this morning. The joys of my nipples breaking down. I have open sores on both boobs. Grrrrrrr.

If I can't get it fixed then I won't be able to breast feed. Hmm

I have tried using my excema creams and basic moisturiser.

Hugmonster82 · 20/08/2014 08:11

Have you tried using Vaseline Drewswife? I have a birthmark/v large mole on my stomach which cracks (sorry disgusting) when it gets dry. I was worried about the stretching so went to a dermatologist who told me to put Vaseline on it 6-8 times a day. Vaseline also works for sore nips when running so may help.

LisaC2611 · 20/08/2014 08:14

Drew have you tried Lansinoh hpa lanolin cream? It is for breast feeding but might help. It helped me when I had really sore nips at the beginning of my pg. not cheap though

CatFaceCrayola · 20/08/2014 08:40

Feeling a bit yuck today still.

Baby movement has gone from the odd kick to short spells of constant moving and it feels like my stomach is churning. Not cool.

25 week midwife app in an hour...why on earth am I nervous?

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 20/08/2014 08:46

I've joined the fb thread but I'm not going to post until it's secret if that's ok? (and also when I can be sure I don't know anyone in real life Grin)

Aloe vera (the purer the better) is also good for sore anything really - stings like a bitch at first but does help it heal.

Roonerspism · 20/08/2014 10:06

How do I join the FB group? If we join do we all make sure we don't call ourselves by our real names on the NN thread?

Gawd I sound totally neurotic! I am! Bloody pregnancy hormones.

Have your nipples cracked out of the blue? Hopefully time to fix them before feeding? I have heard folk swear by Lansinoh..,,

DrewsWife · 20/08/2014 10:39

Can't use lanolin. Have been given steripaste wet bandages which have zinc so sat with moisturiser. Zinc bandages. And breast pads on. Phew!!! Feeling relief from the pain of raw boobs. Wink

It's gonna hurt later on. Hope bandages don't dry out before I remember to change them!!!

I'm going back to bed I think. Exhausted and I start work at 7pm :(

isambardo · 20/08/2014 11:15

I have requested to join the fb group, a bit tentative as I am quite private on fb, haven't announced this pregnancy at all.

Love all the Buffy names! Willow is on our list as a middle name as dh has chosen the first name already (if it's a girl) and wont consider any alternatives. I love the name but it will be alliterative - first name Penelope and surname similar to R-Patz. Do people think it's a bit much? I know we'll call her Penny or Nell all the time but full name will be a bit of a mouthful.

Would adore to use Spike, and I really love Magnus if this one is a boy too. Dh is yet to discuss any boy names at all as he thinks it's a girl and is all set.

To those here having first babies, I recommend not telling people name ideas, or being sure yourself before you do. We had some very odd looks from a couple people when we floated the idea of ds's name. Glad we used it anyway as I love it.

Drewswife, cracked nipples sound like a nightmare, shame you can't use lanolin, I found it great when i started breastfeeding. Have you suffered with eczema before or is it preg-related?

25 weeks today!

Hugmonster82 · 20/08/2014 11:23

Isambardo - I'm 25 weeks today too. How excitingSmile
Feeling really dizzy and headachy today. Going to wait until lunchtime and ask to go home/work from home this afternoon if I don't feel any betterHmm
