I normally start to feel sick after eating too much, but will actually gag as I'm eating so that's my cue to stop Grin

On the subject of dtd... After everytime we've done it I get a cramping feeling under my bump, is this normal?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 18/08/2014 09:20

Scan at 11am, arrrgghh. All this talk of hedge trimming; I did it all for my 12 week scan, but I am SO hairy on my thighs this time and SO can't be arsed, she's going to have to deal with it.
I'm also nervous in case the TV probe hurts this time, since I can't even have sex at the moment. Argh.
Think of me.

Hugmonster82 · 18/08/2014 09:35

Back from holiday and so can't be bothered with work. Only 12 weeks left here but have a feeling they will go very slowly!
I've been really lucky and my leg hair has hardly grown since I've been pregnant. Makes a nice change as I'm usually ape-like. Haven't been able to see 'down there' properly for a few weeks but naively went for a wax last week thinking it would have thinned like my legs. I was so wrong! It hasn't been that painful for years. Not sure I'm brave enough to go again. Sure I read somewhere that the natural hairy look is back in fashionSmile

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 09:41

Peace. Why are you getting a fannyscan today??? I must have missed a post...

I have midwife today at 130. She's a wee bit dour. Picking up my matb1 today. Grin So I can submit my leave request. Very excited.

Woke up to ten mins of baby kicking and now they are back to sleep.

CatFaceCrayola · 18/08/2014 09:54

Somerset I'm sure I read somewhere that mild cramps after sex are normal.

good luck with scan today peace

Do any of you lot talk/sing to your bump? I feel so silly doing it. It's lovely when DH does is as he can get right up close, but obviously I can't get my face very close to bump. Will she not just hear my voice all day everyday anyway or should I specifically be talking to her?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 18/08/2014 10:10

20 week scan today, even though I'm 21+2 :P I've got lots of flab so I usually need a TV scan as well.

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 10:23

Candace I talk to mine a lot. Hub reads to them. I also sing to them and feel like an idiot and probably look like an idiot too. But I get kicks in reply.

Talk to them. :).

22+3

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 10:23

Cat face. Not Candace. Wth phone!!!

LisaC2611 · 18/08/2014 10:24

CatFace - both me and DH talk to my bump, especially just as we go to bed or I'm telling the bump that DH is being a sulky git Grin. If I've got the radio on I'm usually singing along so I just assume that the baby will hear me singing. Am not one for singing nursery rhymes or things like that to the baby

Am so not in the mood for work this week. They have done absolutely nothing whatsoever about getting any cover for me, even though they have known that I am pg since about 7 weeks! I have absolutely no holiday cover and I'm meant to be having a week off at the beginning of September - even my boss doesn't know what I do so how anything is going to get done that week I will never know (plus my boss is also on holiday and I had to change my preferred weeks holiday because of him). Its getting beyond silly now. Boss keeps saying he will talk to big boss about it but never does. I can see that we are going to get to a week before I am due to leave and still have no cover in place. God knows what will happen then! Sorry for the whinge but its really driving me mad!

Hugmonster - I get my lady garden trimmed every 5 weeks and now you have had it done it won't be so bad to go back again.

Hugmonster82 · 18/08/2014 10:25

Good luck with your scan Peace. So exciting!
I've been talking nonsense and singing to my bump. Not great on nursery rhymes so she's been getting whatever's in my head. Mostly Pulp. She has to learn to love them early! Also singing Matilda by Alt-J. Really want to call her Matilda but DH isn't keen so it's my (un)subtle way of trying to persuade him!

CatFaceCrayola · 18/08/2014 10:47

Good choice hugmonster best get her liking Pulp and Manics early. Music on, singing like a loon!

Bettycakes80 · 18/08/2014 12:27

Just spoke to my midwife team and after check up at the doc on Friday they're not happy that I'm measuring 21cm at 25 weeks so I have to go for a growth scan. Anyone else have this? I've put on over a stone I just look a bit small still. Getting lots of kicks too, are they just being over cautious?

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 12:43

Likely just cautious. When is your scan. I seriously wouldn't worry we are all really different.

I'm a bit higher at 22 weeks. But only put on 8lbs. I am a fatty McFat fat anyhoo. So it's a minor miracle lol.

Somerset, it's normal, mine goes rock hard after DTD.

Roonerspism · 18/08/2014 14:05

hi betty I think it's quite common. It happened to my friend and all was well although they gave her scans each month. Are you tall yourself? I also agree that measurements seem to vary widely. I have had GPs measure me 5 cm differently to the midwife. Apparently, if you are not lying completely flat that can also shorten the measurement.

Does anyone know how I can watch repeats of OBEM? I love it, but have only just realised this!

Ladylel · 18/08/2014 14:15

I try to DTD but get batted away. We've probably done it 6 times in as many months. Giving up now with getting bigger like manouvring a beach ball. Sexy.

I have scan tomorrow but anxious.

decided to 'research' and measure my fundus if I've even done it right I don't know especially as I've never had this done... Should supposedly work out as 1cm per week you are.
I'm 25weeks, Got 34cms and this works out correct to the extent as with twins you'd be 6to 8weeks different. But also depend on how they are sitting at the time. Brain = baffled

Hi from holiday! Having such a relaxing time and it's great to have lots of family to help out with dd (26 months). Tonight my mum is sorting dd out so me and DH can go out for a meal. We fly home on Thursday.

Been reading through the thread when I find internet and wishing everyone's aches and pains away. Also hello to a couple of new joiners too.

Measuring the bump is just a rough guide really... So many variations but a growth scan will be nice as you get to see the baby again.

Today at a shop DH picked out a teddy for baby. It's a bit odd looking but I thought it was very sweet that he wanted to do that. We also got a duvet cover for dd. When we get home we need to get cracking with moving her into a proper bed in time to give up the cot for baby. 3 month time limit!

This little man was squirming and kicking so frantically about a week ago. He was actually driving me a bit insane, I couldn't concentrate on anything and wasn't getting any rest. Thankfully the last few days he's calmed down to more manageable and enjoyable movement. I do love feeling the baby but as with dd when they kick so hard and furiously it makes my toes curl a bit.

I have my consultant appointment to discuss the birth when I get home. I'm just so worried about it...Hmm But I am so incredibly excited to meet this little one and be a mum to a newborn. With dd as my first I was a bit neurotic and scared about everything at the start so I really want to enjoy the beginning with #2.

Hugs to everyone. Oh and also, any thoughts about moving this onto a FB group at some point in the future? Smile

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 18/08/2014 15:31

My scan was fine, all looks perfect, and slightly above average, but I knew he/she would be a bruiser! Had to go for a walk to get a look at it's face, but glad it all got done today and don't have to go back. And no TV scan!

Danibogs · 18/08/2014 15:33

betty just thought Id add that they told me at my 20 week scan baby's head was measuring small, which made me worry. When they rescanned me the next day all was fine-they told me measurement errors are not uncommon so I'm sure it's more likely to be that than an actual problem, for both of us. I'm going back again this week-they said they're just being extra cautious-but the consultant was very reassuring. I think midwives/sonographers have to be extra careful but it seems like usually there's no need to worry. Hope you get some assurance soon.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 18/08/2014 15:44

Ah no not a FB group, I don't use it :(

DillieDoily · 18/08/2014 16:38

Is everyone else managing to sleep on their left hand side? I try my best and even have one of those Dream Genie pillows but constantly wake up on my back, on my right side or even on my front. Then I start feeling guilty and can't get back to sleep! Does anyone know how important it really is?

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 16:40

Been to midwife. All is well. She wants me to drop down to 3 nights per week. From 4. And consider mat leave from 32 weeks. Can't say I disagree. She even wrote it on my notes. I am actually seriously considering it. Normally I would brush things off!!

DrewsWife · 18/08/2014 16:43

Don't feel guilty. I can't sleep on my
Left. I often find myself on my tum or right side.

Don't feel guilty. Wink You are doing just fine

LisaC2611 · 18/08/2014 16:48

Dillie I also managed to sleep on every side, including my stomach which baby does not like and proceeds to boot me if I stay there for too long. I don't think it will do too much harm as you are likely to move before there is any damage done. Your body will work in wonderful ways to make sure you do no harm to you or your baby.

Peace glad the scan went well.
