Gah fat fingers- 2nd hand breast bump topic, I'm planning to hold off buying anything like that til after I've seen how I am with bf'ing, is the general consensus that electric ones are better though?

Kirstipops · 08/08/2014 15:37

Also forgot to add, I uploaded a couple of my 13wk scan photos to that In gender forum to see what their "nub" opinion was just for funsies, general consensus said girl, ohhhh can't wait to find out for sure :)

The times does fly queen! Before we know it we'll be crying that we have to go back to work!

HopefulHamster · 08/08/2014 17:33

I got a second-hand Medala Mini (electric) for my son when I went back to work and it was fine - easy to sterilise (so buying second hand didn't bother me) and much better than the Tommee Tippee non-electric one I'd been using beforehand. You can feel a bit like a cow being milked on an electric one though :D

I didn't really like expressing but will get the pump out again for this baby as once you start occasionally going out again it can be really useful.

sazzlehopes · 08/08/2014 17:43

Just popping I quickly will read back in a minute but wanted to say read this if you get the chance.... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/guest_posts/2153623-Guest-post-What-is-it-like-to-be-diagnosed-with-cancer-when-youre-pregnant
Really amazing.

YellowWellies · 08/08/2014 17:45

I actually have found sleep much easier second pregnancy. I think you're just soooooo tired from looking after a kid, and after a stretch of sleepless nights with a baby the body seems more trained to fall asleep when it can?

Me23 · 08/08/2014 19:07

Unfortunately I'm the opposite yellow and I have 2 kids already but have had trouble sleeping since 2nd trimester.

Have been feeling really sick today, having a Chinese tKeaway tonight OH has driven to pick one up from my fave place that doesn't deliver. I'm so excited yum!

I was wondering if anyone had been to the kiddicare in Croydon? Was just wondering if they are heavily reduced lots of items as they are closing down all but one if their stores?

MundayCakes85 · 08/08/2014 19:17

I've been struggling to sleep on my side, if it isn't my hip aching it's being kicked by the bump for getting in its way! Have often woken up on my back or try to sleep on my right. 4 weeks until mat leave starts then I think day time napping will start!
Had my MW apt today- bump measuring 31cm when I'm almost 33 weeks- is this normal for first pregnancy?
Happy Friday everyone Smile

bumpbangbump · 08/08/2014 19:26

Just had to look up the part I mentioned and it's the valve and membranes which are less than £8 to get new...

Me23 · 08/08/2014 20:01

mundy don't worry up to 3cm more or less than your gestation is fine. At least where I work we wouldn't worry or send for a scan if 3 over or under.

Thanks Me I thought it would be ok. Just had an Indian and my belly button has pretty much disappeared Grin
Feeling uncomfortable now and my bump is bouncing!

fedupofrainydays · 08/08/2014 21:40

Me too, sleep is not easier this pregnancy. I'm more tired than my previous pregnancy and find it harder to get enough decent sleep. And days much harder as have a toddler to entertain!!

mrsb87 · 08/08/2014 21:46

buggerlugs I was bought one for my birthday which I am yet to book in. I think I'm going to wait until I finish work in a few weeks til I have it. Can't quite for it though! Dh has been very good at food rubs and back rubs as and when needed bless him Smile

That was meant to say "can't wait for it"

ExcitedCJ · 08/08/2014 22:10

Ah... The flames of Hades are burning up my oesophagus! I have had the worst heart burn since 5pm & nothing in the house to ease it.
I also seem to be producing discharge at an alarming rate (sorry if TMI), I feel like I have accidentally peed myself at least 5 times a day & it's discharge. My body is not my own & I would like it back sooner than 9 wks time. That is it, I'm mentally revving up for 36wks not 40! I can't cope much longer.
Now I'm doing sick burps of water, chamomile tea & pizza, when will this merry hell subside?

Lugs that is how I am feeling too! Although I am sort of mentally easing out of work etc so I am trying to quiet my mind a little and slow things down into baby ready mode.
I need to speak to GP however I am taking that much I am starting to rattle! I take thyroid medication in morning & it has to be clear of everything else for at least 1/2 hr, I'm anaemic so I am taking iron & I have also been prescribed 75mg aspirin as I had preeclampsia previously. The acid inhibitors reduce effectiveness of iron so I'm not sure when I would fit any other tablets into my day. :)

SweetPeaPods · 08/08/2014 22:53

Excited have you been told when to stop taking the aspirin?
I had pre eclampsia with ds so got consultant at 34w but I'm sure she said something about stopping them around 32w but I can't remember!

SweetPeaPods · 08/08/2014 22:54

With regards to acid/heartburn/reflux get some ranitidine. Best thing ever !

STIGZ · 08/08/2014 23:12

Well i have another breech baby at 29 weeks, they said plenty of time to turn around but they said that in my last pregnancy and she never budged an inch! ... My cousin had a wee girl 2 weeks ago and guess what .. She was breech also and arrived 15 days early same as my DD ... Starting to wonder if this breech thing is heriditary or something?! They have not mentioned at any of my scans about an "unususl" shaped womb? .. Just hoping my girls have no sense of direction like their mum :) and nothing to worry about ??

cabster · 09/08/2014 00:06

excited... That. Yep. crosses legs

Fucking hormones are making me mental. Yesterday I was on the verge of tears all the way through In The Night Garden Live. Tonight I cried when Glee performed Don't Stop Believing without Cory Monteith.
