Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

After I had to wake bf up in the garden at 2am the other night (he was asleep in front of a fire he was very proud of and just couldn't leave!), he mumbled on for ages about how Degan 'like Megan with a D' was a great name. No, it's not. Come to bed. He has no memory of that.

We've had the Gro Egg thermometer on in our living room since yesterday - experimented in other rooms too. Unsurprisingly, our entire house is too damned hot. Even now with the doors open and it raining, it's only just reached 'a little warm'. Erk.

I've noticed over the last day or so that I think I'm coming to the end of my physical usefulness. A bit sooner than I thought to be honest, but EVERYTHING is tiring me out - walking up the stairs, getting off the mattress on the floor that I'm currently sleeping on etc.

MundayCakes85 · 02/08/2014 10:31

I had to rescue DH last night, after a night of drinking and sleeping in the spare room he was crashing around in it at 4am "looking for the toilet" Erm it's definitely not in the bedroom!!
Mum over today to help finish decorating the nursery whilst DH sleep off the sore head Grin

ExcitedCJ · 02/08/2014 10:39

Oh good lord. I am totally wiped out! I'm out of breath drying my hair. Did anyone else feel rubbish after whooping cough injection?

magichandles · 02/08/2014 10:44

I had a day of antenatal stuff yesterday - GTT in morning (and I took part in a research study at the same time which passed the time a bit), then I had my Anti-D a bit later and then my 28 week MW check.

I passed the GTT, but my fasting reading was high (as I completely expected) so I've been shuffled off to the Diabetes Clinic now - which probably means weekly appointments which is a pain, but other than scans does means I get to see consultant, midwife and diabetes consultant all in the same morning so at least means fewer trips to the hospital.

mum2kiss · 02/08/2014 11:23

What a nightmare binks. Surely the doc can put a note through to the midwife saying that he wants you referred for urgent physio!

tak1ngchances · 02/08/2014 11:45

Seems a lot of our DP's are behaving badly Grin. DH went out for dinner at 7 and came home at 3.30. He is very grumpy today but has to paint the nursery mwah ha haaaa. He's got 2 friends coming to help, they were all out together last night so the fumes will prob make them vom.

I have the dreaded constipation for the first time in my life. I sit for 20 mins and 3 little pellets come out. But all day long I feel the need to go. Horrid. It's not doing the mega-pile any favours either.
Also got my first Braxton hicks this morning I think??? Pain and bump going v v hard.

Kirstipops · 02/08/2014 11:53

Eek hope it clears soon CJ. My whooping cough vacc is on Tuesday afternoon, hope I don't get too bad dead arm/side effects, I've got driving lessons all week :O
It's totally grim here today which would ordinarily be good on a day I plan to declutter and clean the house a bit but I have itchy feet and would far rather head into Glasgow to soak up the last of the Commonwealth atmosphere, a few friends had tix for the boxing today which I wasn't fussed about missing out on, still fancy the closing ceremony party in Glasgow Green tomorrow, but I know getting home would prob be a nightmare! Does pregnancy make anyone else incredibly indecisive or is it just me!!?

ohthegoats · 02/08/2014 11:58

Constipation - baked beans on toast made of seeded bread - EVERY DAY. Is the way forward for me. Gives me heartburn, but would rather heartburn than constipation.

mum2kiss · 02/08/2014 13:25

Sorry for the random double post! Phone playing silly beggars!

I laid in until midday today! Dd is coming home at 2.30pm so I figured I'd soak up the last of the child free time we'll probably ever have lol! I realise now that having a child with a new partner means this one won't go off for holidays and weekends! I told dp I really should be having this baby with my ex so we could have the best of both worlds...He (surprisingly) could see my logic!

Well dd's room looks like a bomb has hit it since her party last week when all the pressies just got dumped in there, so I'm going through it all now and having a declutter. On the plus side I found her old nappy bag (a damson it back pack style) which is nothing glamorous but still in good condition and has loads of compartments as well as a changing mat and bottle holder so it will do the job nicely.

Have been talking maternity leave with dp. We think we can manage 9 months which I'm happy with so that's good news. Still need to factor in buying a new car, deposit to buy our house (which looks like it may be set back now!), and paying this giant car bill...even also need new sofas but the current ones will have to do for a good while longer! Then there's still the baby items we need to buy.

Once dd's room is decluttered I'm getting out all the baby bits and then making a list of what we need...

mum2kiss · 02/08/2014 13:28

Forgot to ask if anybody knows...I work part time at the moment and I think mat leave will.mean I end up earning below or very close to the £10k threshold this tax year. So does this mean I will be due a tax rebate on the tax I've paid so far this year? Just wondering if I have a few hundred quid to look forward to!

And fed up I be you looked lovely in you dress. I wore leggings and a tshirt to work yesterday...It clung to all the places I usually try to hide...but i just went with it anyway!

Me23 · 02/08/2014 14:14

Hello all,
I've been so fatigued and breathless been in my bed most of the time. Saw the consultant and switched to liquid ferrous fumarate as the tablets gave me diarrhea and all day nausea. Will recheck bloods in a few weeks if little or no improvement will have transfusion. Been on treatment for a week have noticed a slight improvement as I managed to go out today.

Glad I did go out as bagged a fab bargain on a pushchair got m&p sola 2 with carrycot and footmuff for £289 saved almost £300! Also bought the overnight mattress for the carrycot so won't need a Moses for living room or when we stay at relatives (have a crib for our room)

Also got some really comfy trainers today my feet have been aching so much in my ballet pumps. They totally won't go with majority of my maternity clothes but I don't even care.

I will be full term in 7 weeks! Crazy think I'm actually starting to realise I'm going to have another baby soon.

STIGZ · 02/08/2014 14:31

Wow me23 7 weeks to go !!! Think when the weeks hit single figures it starts to get so real!!

Me23 · 02/08/2014 14:51

Yep it's gone so quickly! 30 weeks already so will be term in 7. My other 2 came and 38 and 39 weeks so I'm hoping this one comes around the same time. Knowing my luck I'll be overdue!

BingoBango85 · 02/08/2014 15:42

I don't know the maths, but I'm banking on a tax rebate as we'll have paid tax based on a presumed annual salary that we won't get Grin

sazzlehopes · 02/08/2014 16:16

Me23 sorry you've been feeling so rubbish, hope the new iron liquid works better...and are we full term at 37 weeks then? For some reason I thought it was 40...(even though this is my 2nd baby!!!) in that case yikes, I'm 32 weeks today!!!

Oh girls you are all so organised, I mean I have stuff from ds in the loft but I haven't looked at any of it, got it down, washed it, sorted it etc... I really feel I need to get my arse in gear but just feel with the building works still going on I'm in massive denial! If the baby comes early I'm in so much trouble!
I mean officially I'm due 27th sept, which means I can say I'm having a baby next month...SSSSSHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me23 · 02/08/2014 16:31

Thanks a lot sazzle I'm hoping by the end of next week I will have a bit more energy.

Yes baby is fully cooked at 37 and would not be considered to be premature if they came at that gestation.

We still need to get painting and new flooring done and I'm really fretting about it OH says he and a friend will do painting but I don't see it happening! I'd rather just hire someone cheap off gumtree at least I'll know it will get done and then can get flooring sorted.

Does anyone use a buggy board? Should I go for maxi or mini for my 3.5 yr old website says they both for the sola.

ohthegoats · 02/08/2014 16:45

I wish we could afford someone to decorate. I've just spent another day on a ladder! I'm SO SLOW at the moment too, it's painful. Just realised too that I'll probably spend the vast majority of my maternity leave decorating parts of the house. Urgh.

MundayCakes85 · 02/08/2014 17:27

Me23 sorry to hear you're having it rough at the moment but fingers crossed you'll feel better with new meds. We've painted the little cupboard area today and I've braved the shops. DH is just starting to come alive again- he's in for a shock when he gets a hangover with a new born!! Grin
Well no big storm here today so another scorcher.
Have my feet in a washing up bowl Blush

sazzlehopes · 02/08/2014 17:31

Goats me too, I'd love to have someone in to redecorate. It's only white paint. But it's taking forever to go on, that second coat is killer, looks like you've done nothing. I'm over it, really slow too....
Oh I just want to clean and nest nest nest!
Hoping to break the back of it tomorrow, I can't face having to do it again next weekend. Too much actual work to tackle it in the week, and having a toddler in tow doesn't make for an easy painting experience! Looks like me and the husband are set for a romantic evening of painting once the little one has gone to bed!

ohthegoats · 02/08/2014 17:37

We were going to have a romantic evening of painting too, but now a friend with 'woman issues' is coming over to distract us with (hopefully) some good gossip.

Yesterday I was walking through a shopping centre and a guy walking the other way was reading a text on his phone, he had this ACE look on his face that basically said that the text was sort of sexy. I was massively jealous - remember what that was like? That whole ooh sexy feeling? I've totally forgotten. Sad.

Me23 · 02/08/2014 17:55

Thing is we are broke so can't really afford to pay someone! But I can't do it, I tried painting over the black paint in spare room and did an awful job part of the wall is really lumpy and other has wallpaper on which while I would love to strip off I think the wall underneath will be in a bad way and we haven't got the money or know how ourselves to re plaster so have to make the most of a bad situation.

Oh how I envy your constipation, I've got proper diarrhoea now and going up to six times a day, colitis sucks :-(

fedupofrainydays · 02/08/2014 18:38

My mat leave will be painting too hopefully once the builders are out. Hopefully that will be early sept. I'm actually asking for a decorator for my birthday than a present. It is a present and DH doesn't seem to share my thoughts on that we really don't want to do it!! I'm hoping the builders are going to do the bits they basically messed up through their work so there won't be huge amounts for us to do. Painting of the extension is forunately included in the price. I really would not be wanting to do that!!

30 weeks here too and absolutely knackered after a late one at the wedding. The glitterball was tired from all that spinning around! One couple in out friendship group have got really boring since having a kid, at least everyone else is still the same (as are we btw!). Painful drive home, another 4 hours in the car to then have to entertain ds all afternoon / evening. I so want a nice Bath tonight!

Oh and DH also couldn't find the loo in the middle of the night - he even opened the door to the corridor with no clothes on!!

binkybunny · 02/08/2014 19:20

Finally found a dress I'm almost happy with and it's not a maternity one but a French designer one I can get altered post pregnancy. Still look like a whale but at least a well dressed one Smile

In backache news the midwife called me back yesterday about my appointment to say that I could go see them but backache in pregnancy is normal so I wouldn't get referred for physio. I explained the doctor said it was painful enough after actually talking to me and prodding my back and she basically said that the doctor was wrong as I'm pregnant! She also said that even if I did get referred I'd probably have given birth by the time I get an appointment.

Have decided not to go back and see them as it means missing aqua natal which i think will be more beneficial than an argument with the midwife! I'm looking into local private physios but struggling to find one that does physio in pregnancy Sad
