fed up I'm dreading dh drinking at the wedding. He hasn't really since new years so he'll probably end up asleep in the swimming pool or something!

Me23 · 02/08/2014 20:01

binky I'm sorry to hear you are meeting with such resistance from your mws. It sounds like it may be a fundif issue? Or lack of sympathy/knowledge on mws part. As you are clearly suffering you could ask a supervisor of midwives to advocate for you. It's a shame that it sounds like you would have to wait a long time for an appt it makes me realise how good the physio dept is where I am, women can refer themselves or mws can do it.

I hope you manage to get something sorted out soon you shouldn't have to pay as you are clearly in need of the service.

fedupofrainydays · 02/08/2014 20:11

Got home to find all the electricity off :(
Everything in freezer ruined. Fucking wanker builders

YellowWellies · 02/08/2014 20:44

Argh Fed up at this rate you should invoice them!!!!

Another one mixing late pregnancy with decorating. Extreme nesting! So far this pregnancy I've decorated the lounge, office / small spare bedroom and dining room - I've just got our room to do. We moved in when j was 6 months and all of this has been wanting done in the 14 months since then. Pregnancy made me realise if I don't do it now with one child it'll never get done with two! Smile

We had a nice trip to Edinburgh today. Sushi for lunch at Yo Sushi, J loved their food but not the stylishly designed but utterly impractical high chairs. He saved his real tantrum for an overtired trip round John Lewis when I had the luxury of an £80 gift voucher to spend Hmm . You could see the Shock wide eyes of the new parents to be buggy shopping as this shrieking banshee was wheeled past shouting "Buggy - NOOOOOO get out NOW. Cuddle!!!!" and them thinking 'my child will never be allowed to do that in a public place', haha your time will come! Wink On a positive note I fit into a size 8 White Stuff top in the sale Grin Am sure there must have been a 1 missing off that size. So managed to spend £15 of my Christmas present on me before blowing the rest on birthday presents for my niece and nephew.

We meant to go to Boots for hospital bag stuff but by then baby had corkscrewed right down into my pelvis so we postponed it until tomorrow!

hefner · 02/08/2014 21:06

Oh fedup how annoying!

Sazzle I'm feeling exactly the same. Due on 29th Sept and all the baby stuff is still in the attic. Can't wait to get the decorating and flooring done upstairs so I can start sorting the nursery out.

Me23 I've got a sola and I'm planning to buy the maxi buggy board, thought it would give dd more space although I'm not really sure what the differences between mini and maxi are.

I got my mom to bring the Moses basket over yesterday (was stored in her attic) so I could measure it to order a new mattress, only to find that it doesn't seem to fit any of the mattress sizes available, grr. I thought that was going to be a nice easy job. It was a John Lewis one, maybe they've changed size in the last 3 years?

mum2kiss · 02/08/2014 21:18

Sorry for the random double post! Phone playing silly beggars!

I laid in until midday today! Dd is coming home at 2.30pm so I figured I'd soak up the last of the child free time we'll probably ever have lol! I realise now that having a child with a new partner means this one won't go off for holidays and weekends! I told dp I really should be having this baby with my ex so we could have the best of both worlds...He (surprisingly) could see my logic!

Well dd's room looks like a bomb has hit it since her party last week when all the pressies just got dumped in there, so I'm going through it all now and having a declutter. On the plus side I found her old nappy bag (a damson it back pack style) which is nothing glamorous but still in good condition and has loads of compartments as well as a changing mat and bottle holder so it will do the job nicely.

Have been talking maternity leave with dp. We think we can manage 9 months which I'm happy with so that's good news. Still need to factor in buying a new car, deposit to buy our house (which looks like it may be set back now!), and paying this giant car bill...even also need new sofas but the current ones will have to do for a good while longer! Then there's still the baby items we need to buy.

Once dd's room is decluttered I'm getting out all the baby bits and then making a list of what we need...

MundayCakes85 · 02/08/2014 21:21

Hefner have you tried eBay? We got a mattress to fit my old cot which is over 30 years old!
Fedup I would unleash the hormones on those idiot builders. Poor you.
DH has sobered up in time for dinner and sitting on sofa!

mrsb87 · 02/08/2014 21:43

Oooh fedup I would be murderous if I were you!!! Soo much trouble!

I've just bought myself a crib off eBay for £30 Grin really chuffed! I was meant to be borrowing one from a friend's mum but I'm bit weird about borrowing stuff unless it's family. I've spent my day waxing my newly painted wardrobes in the nursery. It's start to actually look like a babies room!

Dh and I also started collecting bits for my hospital bag, bought a long night shirt with buttons, maternity pads and some mini toiletries (deoderant, dry shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste etc...) all getting very real now. 32wks on Monday!

Pregnantagain7 · 02/08/2014 22:35

Wow everyone sounds like they are getting organised, I have had the biggest meltdown today ever :( we went to go and buy me a new car today as I'm not going to be able to fit 4 kids in mine found one I liked so we got it, when we got home I just burst into tears I think the reality that I'm having a baby has hit home. I had a toddler tantrum and told dp I didn't want a new car I just wanted my old one (as you can imagine he was really impressed with that comment!!) I felt like I was verging on totally loosing the plot I feel like everything is going too fast and I just need to freeze time for a few weeks while I catchup. Dp suggested going and picking the pram up but I can't I just can't I don't feel ready to have it here yet.
Reading this back I sound like I total crazy person I am pleased to be having another baby I just feel like everything is out of my control I hoping that this is just hormones combined with being shattered looking after the other three, anyone else feeling a bit panicky and anxious or am I just a total fruit loop!!

mum2kiss · 02/08/2014 23:59

Stupid duplicate post again!

You don't sound crazy pregnant! I'm worried about how I'll manage with an extra dependant too! In the end I'm sure we'll be just fine though!

fedup - kill someone...that's the only way you'll feel better! I would be livid!

cabster · 03/08/2014 00:26

pregnant I totally get how you feel, it's funny how attached you can get to a car. Our engine gave out last weekend and after looking round for replacement engines and getting nowhere, DH is resolved on getting a new car. I'm gutted. HE was supposed to be getting a new car and I'd get his, it was spacious and lovely in every way and just perfect for me! Trying to muster the enthusiasm to go car shopping tomorrow and it just ain't happening.

binky sorry to hear you're getting nowhere with physio however if you've never tried chiropractic treatment before I thoroughly recommend it. A 20min session has sorted me right out! It's safe in pregnancy, obv not free/NHS but beats hanging round for weeks suffering. My practice charges £45 I think for the first consultation and treatment, and £37 per treatment thereafter

Anyone else get caught in the rain today? I say get caught, i ran out into it with outstretched arms praising the rain gods for their benevolence. Thank god for tall hedges or the neighbours would have had me carted off to the funny farm Hmm

ExcitedCJ · 03/08/2014 02:49

Ahh.... FFS!! I have not had a full night sleep in 4 months! 4 months! If it's not leg cramp or needing the loo, it's my 3 year old & now frigging heart burn has come a calling!!!! I'm ready for the hills.
My DD woke up shouting about not being able to see, she didn't want her blinking night light on when going to bed tonight!! When I got up to calm her down I got hit with a huge blast of heartburn. Eugh! Now I'm sitting upright in the dark trying not to vomit!
Sorry for moan just so utterly destroyed by lack of sleep. DD will prob be up again in 2 1/2 hours, so had better try & quell the vomit & go back to sleep.

Me23 · 03/08/2014 08:40

excited I'm totally empathise with you on the lack of sleep, I haven't had a proper nights sleep for months now it really gets me down as with 2 other kids I have to be up at 6:30 latest anyway. At least on weekend me and OH can give each other an extra hour or so in bed.

pregnant I have been in denial a long time about having a 3rd, to be totally honest I am terrified about how she will impact on our lives (that sounds horrible I know) but I worry about the awful sleep deprivation my other two were awful sleepers I'm worried it will be the same again. I also worry about not having any time at all to myself, my 3 yr old will happily play with his sister for a while. Also the biggie finances! We really can't afford this child but will have to try to make it work. And then There's also all the other inconveniences that come with not having just 2 kids eg family not having space for us to stay holiday costing more etc..

ohthegoats · 03/08/2014 09:00

For the last week I've had bump ache - the whole thing just hurts in a low level sort of cramp or muscular sort of way. Also have the often joked about labia ache - not pelvic or vaginal/cervical, just labia. Particularly when I get up from sitting down, but also when turning over in bed. Is this normal? I've been doing quite a lot of painting, so up and down ladders, hanging curtains, moving stuff around the house etc, and wonder if I've just been doing too much.

32 weeks today and aching, is this normal?

Agree sounds like you hae been doing quite a lot goats going up ladders and what not. It could be due to that but I would ring your triage number for some advice from a midwife who can assess you more in depth over the phone or in person if needs be.

Second the ranitidine I've been on it since first trimester have now had to up dose to 150mg x2 a day I would be totally miserable without it! Though have to time things carefully so it doesn't hinder absorption of iron meds.

Grannyapple · 03/08/2014 10:51

pregnant not loopy at all. I'm the same as me...although this baby wasn't planned it will very much be loved as all our babies will, but I too worry about how we'll cope with the lack of me & us time & an extra baby placing demands on us...we're both knackered as it is & there's only 2 at the mo...plus now that A is 1, feel like her & N are getting a bit more independent. Got new car & house altered (although space will still be right as give from 2 to 3 bedrooms here), but I guess we'll manage somehow. Worried about childcare costs both during mat leave & after but we'll work out something i guess!

I keep telling myself it'll be 2 more years of painful/sleepless nights & then I'm totally done. Plus side is the kids will all be close in age when growing up together..

ohthegoats · 03/08/2014 11:46

Thanks. I did some crying on boyfriend about generally feeling like toss, then he made me breakfast and I'm going to do some hardcore sitting down today. Going out for lunch (without walking anywhere) is the most I'm up to today.

If I still feel bump achey tomorrow I'll pop up to the midwives when I'm at the hospital for my scan. Presumably if there is anything 'wrong', the scan might bring that up too.

queenasanti3 · 03/08/2014 13:11

Just tagging on again, this thread seems to have disappeared off my list.

fedupofrainydays · 03/08/2014 13:28

Today so far spent 2 hours working on my assignment and the rest packing boxes and clearing out the downstairs of our house in prep for builders bashing through. Wonder what else they will ruin Hmm
Knackered and still a long way to go....

pregnant I feel weird because although I'm fed up of being pregnant and the worry it brings I'm also scared about this baby coming. I feel unprepared and not at all ready. House is a bomb site and nothing is sorted or prepared. No hospital bag, no clothes washed or ready, no nursery - literally nothing. The only baby thing I have ready is my maternity notes! Will just be totally stuffed if this baby comes early.

fedupofrainydays · 03/08/2014 13:30

Oh re achy labia. I have that too sometimes. Well definately a ache around that area. And prob way too much info but my clitirois sometimes throbs. Not in a good way either, a painful way.

fatpony · 03/08/2014 14:52

Those who have been out shopping what are the arnica tablets, witch hazel and lavender oil for?

If you have a section do you still need the mega pads?

I might take the day off on Friday to go and do some shopping and get a manicure as it sounds such a nice way to spend a day plus I have a bit of excess holiday to take.

gunwalloe · 03/08/2014 15:01

fatpony yes you will still need the mega pads I bled the same afterwards with my vaginal and cs`s

I went and raided Kiddicare on Friday and got some bedding bargains and a crib mattress it was manic in there but still lots available they are having deliverys for the next two weeks

ExcitedCJ · 03/08/2014 15:22

Fatpony I only used mega pads for a few days after my c-section & then went on to the slim ones, extra long for heavy flow. The wadded ones are pure cotton and don't contain the gels to absorb & are therefore recommended for ladies with natural delivery as things can be a little tender & delicate & best not to introduce unnecessary chemicals to the zone. The witch hazel was for putting on the pads to make things a bit more cool & comfy. The tea tree & lavender are for the bath as it will help with healing & the arnica is a natural way to speed up healing from bruising etc....
Thanks for your sympathies re lack of sleep, have just put my cranky DD into bed for a snooze & if she goes over I will have a sleep too! :)
Oh & lugs & me cheers, I must ask for ranitidine next time I'm with the doc, if this heartburn keeps up. Don't fancy swigging the gaviscon like last time.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 03/08/2014 15:26

Just got back from blackberry picking with DH & DS & am achey & covered in stings & scratches! We got a butt load of blackberries though Smile
