Can't believe the new thread is on page 6 already!

Been feeling pretty sorry for myself today, bit nauseous and achy lower back but am desperately trying not to moan to dh as it was really my nagging for another baby that got me into this situation! He's lovely and sympathetic but I am really trying not to complain too much!

fourmonthstogo · 22/07/2014 21:55

Make that page 7!

DurhamRed · 22/07/2014 22:17

Hi M27 Yay for 4th Sept! Can't come quick enough for me :-)

DurhamRed · 22/07/2014 22:21

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough fourdays know exactly how you feel.

ChatEnOeuf · 22/07/2014 22:36

Hesto Thanks how awful. Lots of hand holding through this pregnancy - I'm sure you will be well looked-after.

I'm dizzy and grumpy and can't sleep. Called the CMWs, told me to go to the GP...went to the GP who advised me to call the CMW. Goodness only knows how I'm supposed to get a booking appt!

M27J5M · 22/07/2014 22:45

It can't come quick enough for me either, tho I am gonna try for an early scan when at mw on the 4th aug

DurhamRed · 22/07/2014 22:48

Let me know how that goes M27 I was wondering about trying for an early scan too. My mw appt is on the 13th Aug.

Safra72 · 22/07/2014 23:29

Huh!
Now I feel old!
Got another app thru to see an obstitrition in sept. As this is after booking in app and scan I phoned to find out why the app was made and it's because of my age! (Am 42 on Friday)
Seems they will assess me and decide if I can be managed by the cmw or obs; not sure how I feel about this!!!

Anyone else had this or am I the oldest on here?
thinking of changing moniker to Grandma Grin

tannyLoo · 23/07/2014 00:08

Ooh Safra I just beat you in the ancient stakes! I was 42 in May.
I don't stand a chance of being treated normally though, as have had 5 MCs and am now being "looked after", so have just resigned myself to my geriatric mum status.

I had my last ds at 39 (nearly 40) in a MW led unit, and everything was lovely, so it can happen to old birds too!

Rainbow555 · 23/07/2014 06:22

fourmonths I was feeling rough yesterday yucky day! nausea tablets made it worse I think! a little better today I have been wearing anti sickness bands not sure of it made a difference but worth a try. Just super tired could have slept at my desk today!
Went to see another midwife yesterday and she said it is a good thing as it means the hormones are working and hopefully bean is sticking!!
Not sure who to have as mw though, she was much younger than the other one and very enthusiastic and bubbly, which should be a good thing, but I was feeling so crap I was a little overwhelmed by her! DH says he prefers her to the other one...."cos she was mental" hmmm not sure that is good thing haha she wasn't mental just loud and bubbly! Beginning to think that having a choice makes it harder lol!
Hesto Thanks

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 23/07/2014 06:39

How soon after missed period did you all ring for a booking appointment? Only missed mine yesterday and got a bfp digital but my doctors receptionist is such a cow and I don't want to ring if she's going to say it's too early and make me feel like an idiot?!

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 23/07/2014 06:39

Oh and morning all!! Smile

Fergie11 · 23/07/2014 06:47

safra& tanny I was 41 in June. I haven't contacted midwife yet but I'll let you know if anything is different due to age although as this is my first it will all be new to me.

PickledPorcupine · 23/07/2014 06:53

mother you don't need to tell the receptionist what the appointment's for. You have a right to only speak to a doctor about your treatment. Just say 'I'd rather not disclose'. I had my first appointment this week so I was just shy of 6 weeks. NHS guidance just says do it ASAP.

smokeandglitter · 23/07/2014 07:01

Mother I phoned the day after my bfp, wanted to get the ball rolling so to speak. I just started the conversation with "So, it's very early days but..." I would go for it if you want to!

Do we have age stats on this thread? Would anyone like them? I'm happy to add them to our # and edd if people would like. Smile

Also, really want to join Facebook but waiting until 12 weeks when I tell my friends and family - just in case.

hetsto · 23/07/2014 07:10

Morning all! Thanks for all the lovely messages. I'm feeling rough as a dog this morning, but so happy that it's probably a good sign. I'd usually have left for work by now but I'm only just hauling myself off the bathroom floor... Hmm!

Glad to hear booking in appts are going well or being booked! I've got mine at the end of next week. :)

kettlepot · 23/07/2014 07:16

Blimey hetsto! Not looking forward to that... Hope you're feeling better soon Thanks

Had another positive so phoning doctor today. Not sure he'll be best pleased as he's still trying to sort out anaemia problems already! Oops!

Is anyone else reducing caffeine? I only have one coffee and one tea a day, but worrying this is still a bit much... (Even though under guidelines)

notoasthere · 23/07/2014 07:17

7 weeks today!

I've had a very strange and unusual thing happen to me so far this morning.....ds didn't get up till 6.45 meaning I got over 8 hours sleep - bliss!

Felt very sick yesterday - busy day ahead though running breastfeeding group and then going round to a friend's for lunch. Hopefully the nausea will behave!

smokeandglitter · 23/07/2014 07:33

hetsto glad you're happy, but hope you don't continue to feel this awfully sick.

noto Woo for your sleep! Good luck with nausea.

Kettlepot Before I knew I was pregnant I was detoxing during the week so had already cut down caffeine but was still drinking quite a bit on weekends. Now only ever half a 1/2 sized mug of coffee if I can't work that day. I should think that you're fine if you're still under the guidelines. Smile

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 23/07/2014 07:38

My last two pregnancies I didn't see a doctor they said just to make an appointment with the midwife but that was in a different part of the country. I just rang up and they made an appointment for 8 weeks, but I don't know what the protocol is here as I have a friend that had to have a test at the doctors before they would give her a booking appointment, like they didn't trust her, it was her third too. I'll ring tomorrow then as I have a day off work Grin
Meant to say ages ago for the symptomless people, my second I had no symptoms what so ever, don't know whether us was because it had only been 6 months since I'd given birth (so Body didn't need to prepare as much?) but if I hadn't had a positive test I wouldn't have had a clue I was pregnant ( not trying to rub it in!!) first baby I had some symptoms but they came and went. Both are fine. Only saying as no symptoms isn't always something to worry about Smile
If anyone is adding ages I'm 28, sorry on my phone so can't do it.

headlesschicken247 · 23/07/2014 07:39

When I booked my appt I just said it was for a pre natal booking in appt. our surgery give you a double appt due to the paperwork so it may be worth mentioning so they can find a suitable appt.

teaandbiscuitsforme · 23/07/2014 07:47

kettle I've had chronic anaemia following MC and was really worried about telling the doctor in case she said I got pregnant too soon. But she was really nice and told me to stop taking my iron tablets for now in case it makes sickness worse and they'll check hb levels at the booking appt. Hope yours is ok about it!!

tannyLoo · 23/07/2014 07:53

Fergie and Safra, we can have a wrinkles and stretch mark club!

If anyone wants to add ages, then I'm fine with that, kinda...

And just so we don't feel too ancient, my work colleague had her first baby last autumn at 50, conceived naturally and a complete surprise! She had a very straightforward pregnancy, but was tired towards the end, and had an ELCS on her OBS/GYN advice. Had a beautiful baby girl. Breastfed, and all is well!

Rainbow555 · 23/07/2014 07:56

Ohh tea can iron tablets make sickness worse? My iron has just come back low again and so doc wants me to go back on them again! Gah!
mother I rang after a few days, you don't have to say what the appt is for, just book one.

Lifeisabeach · 23/07/2014 08:01

Morning all, I'm writing this from a tent in sunny Devon - we are down here camping for the week. Must say I'm not loving trying to sleep on an inflatable mattress, or having to tramp across to the toilets for a wee several times a night. Been awake since 6.30 so have now caught up on the whole thread!

Hetsto, I read your other thread about the loss of your beautiful girls, I am so sorry.

I'm 5+1 now, was good to start a new week yesterday. Last time I mc at just over 6 weeks so feeling anxious but trying to stay positive.

Hope everyone has a good day!
