Morning all! Some stats: I'm 29, edd is 28th March so I'm only 4+3 I think. I've registered and got a booking in appointment for week 6. This is my second pregnancy but my twin girls were stillborn after a complicated pregnancy so I'm probably more anxious than most.

Mother that's what I thought about babies waking but I'd also heard "never wake a sleeping baby". MW was horrified on her first visit when he was 2 days old that I'd let him sleep nine hours without waking for a feed and advised me to wake him up every two hours through the night, which I dutifully did. Looking back, I think that was madness. He hit four months and began waking up himself and I could have saved myself a lot of angst and stress. Thank goodness for BFing and co-sleeping once I mastered feeding lying down.

Marking my spot.

Don't think I'm going to keep much down today, am retching already Sad

Kids come in all varieties, my lovely ds2 is one of those amazing chilled out babies. He slept through from 4 months and at 2.5 years, he's still having a 3 hr nap during the day and sleeping from 8pm to 7am.

Of course, this next one is bound to be awake ten times a night!

Oh hetsto you poor thing. I hope you're not feeling too anxious, though it's incredibly understandable. Hugs to you.

Morning all! A new thread already, we are a chatty lot.
feeling sooooo much better than yesterday and not being sick so think it must have been a bug. Nausea is back but for now that is just fine Smile have taken today off work too as don't want to spread my germs and am really sore from shoulder to stomach from the force of vomming (nice).

foscar you are making me feel as though I should make an effort with dp. Sounds like it could be worth it Grin

oh yes, you will most certainly hear your baby cry and if like me imagine them crying in a sleep fogged state I fully believe the lack of sleep in pg is to get you used to what's to come. I am such a light sleeper still 3.7 years after ds was born. I am also a lot better at doing things half asleep and dropping straight off.
Feel a bit anxious about having a bad sleeper this time round as ds slept 10-6 from 10 weeks and always settled well (except through teething) if he did ever wake.

My midwife referral form was sent off yesterday -opted for the community midwives who mostly do home visits depending on where you live. One of the midwives if my next door neighbour (barely speak to her) so would be strange if she turned up.

Can't wait for a scan date, not having an early one either.

Gosh that was an essay - must be feeling better :-)

Zebra same happened to my first, she slept about 8 hours first night but then showed as severely jaundiced and we got re admitted to hospital, I had to wake her up for the first few weeks, but that's the only time in her life she's wanted to sleep!! She wouldn't feed a night so had to express and dream feed it to her!
Complicated being babies! I was a co-sleeping bf mum too with ds who was thd opposite and a boob monster!! Think I'm going to invest in a proper co-sleeper cot this time!

Ha ha 3 months of doing that every day for 2 weeks mid cycle lol. Think dh is glad I'm pregnant just so the alarms can stop and we can wake up naturally (at 5.30 when the toddlers dictate!!) lol

It's weird isn't it mother - you go into it expecting to have this movie-style hellish experience of sleep deprivation and pacing the floor in the middle of the night...no one tells you that in the their first few weeks, babies can sleep A LOT. It's very unnerving.

We use this as a co sleeper - very cheap and one side comes off. At its top height it fitted snug against our bed frame and when we lowered it and just put our mattress on the floor, it still levelled up nicely. www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10248519/

We now have a king size mattress and DS hardly sleeps in the cot but it's still lined up next to my side so when new baby comes, DS will move to the other side of me with DH and new baby will take over the co sleeper.

Morning everyone and hello and congrats to the new bfps! I have now been afflicted with the need to pee all the time. Really not drinking much more and its hot so do not understand where all this wee is coming from. All I know is it's disturbing my precious sleep!! also alternately starving and nauseous. Eating so much already. Dreading how long it's going to take me to lose the weight (although v grateful not to be vomming like some of you poor people). My ds was/is a really good sleeper and slept from 10 to 8 from 10 weeks. No way will I be so lucky next time. Maybe the next one will eat the dinners I cook it though!!!

Morning all!

Ooh, lovely shiny new thread - can't believe it's thread 2 already!

Hesto I'm sorry darling. I'm not surprised that you feel more anxious than most - it's completely understandable. Please don't berate yourself for being anxious though - be kind to yourself

I've been awake since 4 with nausea (enough to wake me up) and am now managing to sip water. I'm only 7 weeks - surely it has to get better?

New thread! How exciting! I'm panicking. After my delightful vomming in the car experience on Friday, I've been feeling sooooo much better and only mild nausea. Still got ridiculously sore boobs and finding it difficult to sleep, but I'm worrying that the ms getting better is a bad sign? I'm wondering if it could be down to me know being off work on the summer hols so I'm not rushing around in mornings? At least I hope that's what it is....! (I'm 7 + 5)

Morning all! I didn't sleep very well last night. Every time I closed my eyes I felt like I was on a boat! Had to hold onto the wall so I didn't feel sick from going up and down!

I have no idea how anybody is doing early mornings at the moment, I'm too tired!

Thank you, it was a very unusual and rare situation last time, so I should be able to take comfort from the fact that it is extremely unlikely to happen again, but it can be hard to remember that at times. We’re still associated with the grief services at the hospital we were at previously so will hopefully be able to get lots of helpful support there, and it will be lovely to chat to you all about this wonderful new pregnancy too!

Is anyone else finding the heat unbearable at the moment? I’m not sure whether I always get so uncomfortable in the summer, or if it’s pregnancy-related but it’s so bloomin’ hot! I can’t sleep to save my life.

Hesto, it is hot! I'm never usually hot! I can't sleep however because of my DH being hot, he keeps rolling on me and kicking me. Hmm

Glad you're linked to the grief services, I really hope they give you the support you need. Definitely looking forward to chatting about your lovely new pregnancy!

Morning all, I don't think I've ever been on a thread that's gone to thread 2! How exciting :)

Feeling very queasy and tired this morning, and desperately hoping (tmi sorry) that the tummy cramps mean I'll be rushing to the loo in a bit.

But it's baby day!! :) BD is when I go up a week and my app gives me info as to what's happening this week to v2 :) I have 2 apps on the go lol! And midwife appointment this aft :)

I'll bring over and update the stats when ds has a nap later.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Flowers hesto.

I usually love the sun and the heat, but at the moment I cant stand it. I walk a mile and a half to work and back every day and that walk is killing me a the moment. So hot, makes the nausea worse.

Trying out my shiny new anti-sickness tablets today. So far I'm not impressed.
