purple it shouldn't matter if you don't see the GP until 7 weeks, but you don't really need to take dh with you. Nothing generally happens other than reminding you to take folic acid. Have you checked how you get referred to a midwife in your area? I'm not seeing the doctor at all, I just had to fill in a self-referral form and hand it in at the surgery.

No, you can't see it through safari

Gawd I've no idea what I do at all!
I'll have a look online

Hetsto I'm so sorry for what happened to your twins, how truly awful and no wonder you're anxious. I'm sure you'll get more monitoring. We will all hold your hand xx

purple no need to take your dh - booking appointments are very much paperwork, questions, bp, weight, height etc a bit of a yawnfest and anticlimax sometimes when you are so excited to have your first official pregnancy appointment! He will enjoy the scan the most x

Hmmmm i'm sure I didn't show much with ds but I appear to have ballooned today. This doesn't bode well for lasting til the 12 week scan!! I'vebeen wandering round the office today looking a right heifer and continuously going t the loo!

hesto what an awful thing to have gone through. Hoping everything works out this time.

purple he doesn't need to be there, but it's worth having a chat about family history/Illnesses before your appointment (check your notes if you have them yet) as they will want to know about his sides if things as well.

At my last booking in appointment, one of the questions they ask is about family involvement with social services, dp said yes! Starts whittering on about his grandparents (they live in sheltered accommodation). No love, the midwife does not care about your grandparents - she's assessing the risk to the baby and whether there's any potential SS involvement needed. Doofus.

I had a midwife appointment today, just took gallons of my blood to check I've not contracted anything nasty later. Then she's coming to my house on Thursday for booking in.

Hope everyone is coping with the heat, doubt I'll see 9pm tonight, cream crackered!!

Hesto I'm so sorry to read your experience. Really thinking of you.

Overall it's great to see there are a few people feeling a bit more refreshed today but I agree with everyone... The heat is awful!! I also can't seem to strike the right balance of when is too much / too little to eat. Exhaustion seems to catch up with me after a busy couple of days and knock me for six, yesterday I couldn't get up until 1 (ds was at nursery).

We had our booking in appt today which went well. No concerns other thaN low blood pressure which explains a few things. EDD has been brought forward, as has the scan but I will update once we have had the 12w scan. I had to relive the whole birth experience from last time, fortunately mine wasn't too traumatic so for those considering the debrief I think it sounds like an excellent idea.

Here's to a restful night for everyone and probably another five pages on this thread by the time I wake up tomorrow! x

Hi everyone, may I join this thread?

I am 5+5 weeks pregnant and have been suffering some serious morning sickness (signed off for 2 weeks and taking prochloperazine) is anyone else experiencing really bad nausea/vomiting?

Report
oliveobsessed · 22/07/2014 19:55

Does anyone know what questions they ask at booking in that I need to get info of DP for?

Report
smokeandglitter · 22/07/2014 20:02

Hi Durham, I'm 5+5 too, welcome! est dd 19th?

Good question, Olive!

Also, how much family history do we need? I'm adopted but am in contact with my birth sister who could help if needs be.

Report
Dinnerfor1 · 22/07/2014 20:03

They just asked about family medical history, so, do parents/ grandparents have diabetes, high blood pressure etc. I think that was the only question where I needed to know anything from dh.

Can I join please. Got a BFP yesterday morning and think I'm about 5 weeks. Due date calculator said EDD is 21st March. Got my booking appt. next Thursday, feeling quite nervous and like I have no idea what I'm doing. Really excited at the same time.

I'm 24 and have 1 DS already, he's just turned 5.

Welcome Durham and Perissa and congrats! Olive, dinnerfor1 covered most of it. They are interested in any heart / cardio / bp / diabetes / fertility / miscarriage / multiples / genetic history that direct family have, usually parents and siblings, gp if relevant.

It's a good opportunity for you to talk through any concerns you might have about symptoms at this stage too without having to worry about of anything is tmi.

The midwife will also tell you what to expect for next steps and how your care is managed in your area.

Good luck!

Hi Smoke, yep my EDD is 19th March...exciting times!!! Just wish I didn't feel so sick all the time :-(

When is your booking appt with the Midwife? Mine is booked for the 13th Aug, with scan booked for 4th Sept. Just seems like an age away!

Hesto I've just read your post and I can't begin to imagin how awful this is for you. So brave if you to share your story xx

This tread moves at lightning speed! I'm very jealous of how early some booing in apts mine isn't until I'm 10 weeks which seems like forever!

Sore boobs still only symptom kind of wish I had more!

Welcome to the newbies who've joined since I was last on!

Just been to my weekly body combat class which I absolutely love and want to keep up with for as long as possible but had to rush to the loo once in the middle of it as I thought I was going to hurl - it was just so hot! Managed to keep hold of the contents of my stomach though thankfully. Feeling much better now and back to a state of pretty-much-symptomless-apart-from-being-unbelievably-tired, so I think it was just the jigging around in the heat that bubs objected to.

Those of you who've had your first MW appointment and are on your 2nd+ child - do they ask as many questions this time round? I understand them asking for an in-depth family history on your first but we need to go through the whole thing again?

How quickly did people get booking appointments after GP appointment? (We have to go to GP first in my area!) Got my GP appointment on Thurs but want to know MW and scan dates ASAP! When I was pg and had MMC, I still hadn't heard anything by 10 woks when I had a private scan-is that normal?!

Report
smokeandglitter · 22/07/2014 21:02

Bless you Durham, I hope you feel much better soon. I'm not sure when my booking in appointment is yet, still waiting to hear back from my GP, but I should be having an early scan due to two previous mc when younger.

DurhamRed · 22/07/2014 21:04

Hi Tea I got my scan date the same day I went to my GP as I was told to ring the hospital for a 12 week dating scan. They calculated my EDD and boomed my scan over the phone.

I received my booking appt with midwife via post within 3 days, booked for mid Aug where I'll be approx 8 weeks.
