Hello newbies!

Well my bloating also seems permanent! Starting to not fit in my other clothes just one pair of jeans and even those I open the button! Guess I am going to need to buy some new work clothes ASAP!

Crazy dream alert!! Oh man a horrible night. I dreamt I was pregnant and fancied a boiled egg. For some reason I was questioning whether it was ok to boil eggs and decided it was, well, the egg became my egg from me and I didn't know till it was boiled and them I told DH what I had done and though that meant the baby was gone, sur enough I cut open the egg and the baby was inside!! And then I was like "what was I thinking of course boiling and egg kills your baby" so then I told me mum and had a complete meltdown (this was horrible part iof the dream) and then my brain started in interrupt and thankfully I realised it was a dream, woke up in a panic but the relief of knowing I was still pregnant and hadn't boiled my egg was amazing.....phew weird guess I have joined the weird dream club!

Coaster, really sorry to hear you're having a bad time. I have worked in MH for 20 years and suffer from anxiety and depression, although I'm doing much better since I stopped drinking four years ago.

I think you need to be a bit proactive, and get some additional support in place. Talk to your GP or midwife about how you're feeling. They can look at meds to support you that are safer to take during pg, they can refer you to specialist midwives and hopefully stop a complete crash. Please do this as soon as possible.

You can do some things to help yourself, and sorry if you know all of this. Download some mindfulness meditation exercises from YouTube. There are some that are specifically about thoughts and feelings. Plug in some headphones and try to follow the exercises. You can also find some self-help resources designed with anxiety in mind. I've used the Lindon Method before, and have a copy available if you're interested. A good website for women who drink as a crutch is Soberistas. Worth a look.

Please remember that what you are feeling is being triggered by the chemicals and hormones in your body going a bit bonkers. One set of chemicals has been removed, another few added and you haven't got booze to cushion any of it. It's not surprising, or your fault, just your body trying to work out how to cope.

I hope this is helpful. If not, that is absolutely fine, you may need to find your own way, but please don't just sit back and let it wash over you.

Please feel free to pm me. Good luck x

Wow! This thread has moved incredibly fast.

I know it's late, but my warmest thoughts are with Chat.

What lovely scan images of your beans/squidgets/babies! I teared-up looking at them. And for all the positive scan news ... amazing!

I'm sorry for those of you suffering mild, constant and/or seriously debilitating MS. Wishing you all strength and rest as soon as...

Coaster - sending hugs and warm thoughts your way.

Welcome to all the newbies! Great to see your bfp news

I'm still unable to sleep thru the nights due to never-ending insomnia and recently consistently very sore & rock hard tummy. Whoever mentioned the after-200 crunch sensation - no kidding. To add further discomfort to the pot, I'm also still so bloated, despite peppermint tea and mg. it's horrible & my boobs just don't stop throbbing. I have my 10+2 scan and first test (Nuchal) on Friday. I'm getting nervous now. Please let this baby be healthy and safe... My daily hourly mantra

Hope you're all well and a big high five to the teachers on this thread... Enjoy the break til fall term - mine begins in 15 days Sad

It's my 30th today! #itsmypartyandillcryifiwanttoo is a distinct possibility Grin

Off for a posh lunch with ds and dh - looking forward to a steak as rare as I can get away with....usually I ask for a medium 'plus'

Happy Birthday toast

9+5/6 today. 17 days to 12 week scan and time is moving slowly.

Was delighted to find some jeans in the wardrobe which were 4inches bigger at the waist! Leftover from before I lost previous pg weight. For those finding clothes too tight, have you considered a pregnancy band? When I was pg with dd I struggled to find comfortable trousers that fitted and the band worked a treat. You just wear it over trousers with button/zip undone and the band holds them up. I mainly used mine with work trousers and thought it was brilliant.

I have a pregnancy band and it is amazing. Got it on Saturday. Stops me worrying that my trousers will fall down when I undo them and that people will see that the button is undone. They are brill.

Happy birthday notoast. Hope you get thoroughly spoiled today.

The sickness is getting beyond a joke now. I've had two biscuits and a cup of tea this morning and just vomitted seven or eight times. I'm going to try and get a doctor's appointment.

Happy birthday Notoast enjoy your day :-)

I feel for you Persepolis I too have been suffering from severe ms. I hope you get some relief soon. Yesterday was my worst day ever, being sick every 30 mins even with anti sickness tablets. Today I'm not feeling as bad (at the mo) and wonder if it was the new tablets that made me feel bad. When will pregnancy become fun?? At the moment all I feel is sick and exhausted!

Report
persepolis123 · 04/08/2014 11:51

durham the exhaustion and nausea combined is just dreadful isn’t it? I spent nearly all weekend in bed and can barely keep my eyes open at work. DP and my mum keep saying if I feel that bad I should go home but if I went home whenever I felt like this I would never be at work!

Do I try and give the midwife a call or get a doctor’s appointment?

Morning all, happy birthday notoast.

Rainbow what an horrendous dream! Glad I haven't had anything like that - but then again I haven't been sleeping for long enough to have any dreams at all, let c alone such vivid ones.

We went to CarFest North yesterday. What a brilliant day! DS had lots of fun watching fast cars, air displays, riding in a mini tank and going on a massive helter skelter. Had to have a sit down for an hour in the middle of the day but DH had thought ahead and taken a camping chair so all good.

Definitely off to look at pregnancy bands - really struggled last time round with ill-fitting clothes so these sound good to me.

Persepolis get an appointment with your doc as you may need some time off to rest. I've been signed off for 3 weeks now (back to work next week) as my doc said I needed rest and to try and get more fluids in me due to dehydration (easier said than done). Today I've decided not to take anti sickness meds to see how I go as yesterday they were no use at all!

I got my pregnancy band from jojo maman bebe. It's called a pregnancy bandeau and you need to buy a size smaller than you think. I'm normally a size 10-12 and needed a small. Not sure how this will work for those of you who are size 8's I'm afraid as small is the smallest they do.
