Feeling rough, having a bad day, sitting at the Dr's waiting to be seen after blacking out and waking up covered in vomit and wee (tmi?) sure it's nothing serious but dh insisting on dr. Guess it will force me to get a referral to a mw unit and get things going.

Poor you coastergirl, I know it's impossible but try and relax before tomorrow and if you can see a heart beat it's probably because it's too early and not necessarily something to worry about. Stay strong.

I can't believe people are actually wishing for twins I think I'd be devastated and so nervous though I tell myself it must be double the pleasure at times. no history in my family though.
Wonder how many twins their will be amongst us.
Hope everyone gets what they wish for.

MGFM · 28/07/2014 17:28

Dh would like twins as he thinks it will get it out of the way in one go. I guess that makes sense. My brother was a twin. Mum lost one at 10 weeks and my mum has twin sisters so it it is in the family. As long as healthy I don't mind if I have one or two.

coaster fingers crossed for you. I hope tomorrow goes well.

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 17:58

coaster I hope the scan goes ok. Try not to worry and at least you don't have long to wait to hopefully get some very good and reassuring news.

fishfinger yes, your dh was right. Black out, vom and wee. That definitely deserves a doctors appt. I hope you're ok. Look after yourself and your little bean.

Hi everyone, just catching up - I've been away at a festival all weekend (booked to invoke Sod's law and it worked). So sober and the hottest weekend ever. Great! And my morning sickness kicked in in festival toilets. Not good.
Anyway girls who've had miscarriages and viability scans - did it reassure you? I'm feeling much more pregnant than my last miscarriage but I'm going on holiday and I'm thinking of asking the doctor for a viability scan before then (I will be 7+4 when we go). I'm also worried that it could ruin my holiday if something is odd. My first miscarriage measured 5 week when it should have been 7, then the baby stopped developing at 8 weeks. Anyway just after opinions?

teaandbiscuitsforme · 28/07/2014 18:36

littlemissy I'm in exactly the same position. Decided to book a scan before we go on holiday for reassurance but no idea what we'll do if it's not good news. I'll be 6+6 at the scan and we go the next day. I know there's no guarantee of a heartbeat but hoping baby is developing normally. Last time I had a scan at 9 weeks and baby had stopped developing at 6 so this is a big hurdle. I feel like I have to go because I need to know, good or bad, but I know it might impact on our holiday.
No real advice sorry! Hopefully we'll all have positive scans whenever they are!

notoasthere · 28/07/2014 18:48

Hope everything is ok fish?

Early scans can be reassuring but for some, they cause more worry. Only you can decide if the benefits outweigh any possible risks unfortunately - for me, it's very reassuring anyway

fish hope you're feeling better. If that happened to me I'd be phoning an ambulance - such a hypochondriac!

I have my booking in appt on 14th August and scan on 4th sept. We've decided not to book am early scan. I have surprised myself with this decision.

Still symptomless except bloating ...

RE twins, DH and I always said we'd like twins - one of each - but I started to read town threads and it sounds very stressful! Saying that, I think whatever I get I'll just be thrilled. Is it not September yet?!?

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 20:16

M33 tell me about it. Time is going soooooo slooooowly. I just want my scan so I can relax and get over excited and tell everyone and start wearing maternity clothes.

I can't remember who else is military. I think it's mgfm well, what are your plans for maternity clothes. Are you just going to get larger trousers or are you planning on wearing the delightful beige maternity dress that we get issued? I'm thinking of wearing the dress just because it is so hideous it is almost funny.

oliveobsessed · 28/07/2014 20:28

Wahoo had booking in appointment today it is starting to feel more real. Midwife has estimated very loosely the am due on 3/3 would someone mind updating the sheet?
Am still exceptionally bloated midwives comment was it could be twins lol

KeeperOfTheZoo · 28/07/2014 20:40

Hope you're ok fish, don't blame your DH for making you get checked out. Thanks

Rainbow555 · 28/07/2014 21:02

fish I hope all is ok
Sorry to those ms has kicked in, I'm still suffering with nausea but finding some odd things to eat.
olive glad your appt went well

Glad some of you are seeing heartbeats and the beans are doing well. No history of twins in my family so I guess unlikely, not sure how I would feel about it, probably fine (apart from all the extra work!)
Still desperate to tell family but staying quiet for now
7 weeks today by my calcs so still a few weeks before a scan -roll on September!

fishfingerSarnies · 28/07/2014 21:27

Hey guys, all seems fine now Dr has no idea what caused it or really what it was (fit/fainting?) but just have to take it easy and go to a&e if it happens again.
On the plus side he's going to sort out referring me to the hospital for my antenatal care so should be hearing from them soon about booking appointments etc.
Still really struggling to eat anything had some plain pasta for lunch but that all came up in my little episode can't even face going into my kitchen :-(
Some one is smoking in the park just behind my garden and she smell is making me want to vomit, can't close window as too hot wish they'd piss off and smoke in their own home but realise that's not really fair.

Good luck people with appointments and early scans coming up, personally an early scan wouldn't make me any more relaxed so I wouldn't but it's such a personal thing.

Good luck what ever you decide

Really liking the sound of the beige maternity dress, perhaps we could all get them! I hope to see some photo's if you do go for it.

muchostinky · 28/07/2014 21:41

Hey everyone, hope we aren't feeling too bad? I am writing this lying in bed where I have been since 6.30, I am just soooo tired! Apart from the odd bit of heart burn I am not really having symptoms, well DP has commented that my boobs are huge!!

On the talk of twins, DP is a twin, his Mum was a twin and her Mum was a twin! I am hoping that they will go down his sisters and not through him though!

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 22:03

This is not me, but this is our maternity uniform. Including those tasty brown flat lace up shoes. Yum!!! The shoes are very uncomfy. And just gross.

Due March 2015 - on the way to booking in, scans and morning sickness ahoy!
MGFM · 28/07/2014 22:05

foscar I get two options for navy. I can wear the dress, ours is navy coloured and actually it can look quite smart. Or I can get the black maternity trousers (elastic waist) and white shirt which hangs loosely over trousers and navy cardigan. Having seen both army and navy maternity. I do think we have the edge. Maybe if your dress option wasn't brown? It is pretty depressing looking. Do you have any other options?

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 22:05

It is basically a beige tent with buttons down the front that gape when you move about. This picture is from a newspaper article entitled 'British army maternity uniform not fit for purpose'. I have decided I must wear it as it is so hideous it will make me laugh.

pinkandstripey · 28/07/2014 22:06

foscar hahaha hahaha. Hahaha haha. Ahem.

(snort)

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 22:08

MGFM It's the dress/tent or I just keep ordering larger trousers. Don't think we have progressed to elastic wasted trousers yet. They don't even do female trousers. It's all men's stuff and we just have to get the stuff that fits is best. So for now I'm just undoing the top button on my 'combat men's MTP'. It's quite a joke amongst pregnant girls I have known wearing 'the dress'. You get the brown handbag to wear with it too. Just to complete the look!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 28/07/2014 22:10

all this talk of twins is making me nervous. my mum is a twin so theres a good chance

FoscarC · 28/07/2014 22:10

Oh, and a big wooly green cardigan for the winter. Men (who clearly have designed all out uniform) have no idea!!

MGFM · 28/07/2014 22:13

The dreary brown colour is just awful. I'm not back at work till mid September by which point I am hoping for a nice bump. Straight into the dress while the weather is warm then I am going to switch to trousers and shirt.

ZylaB · 28/07/2014 22:20

Foscar lol!

teaandbiscuitsforme · 28/07/2014 22:44

That uniform is hilarious! Definitely something to wear to make you giggle!

amac36 · 28/07/2014 23:27

Hi,
Hope you don't mind me joining. I am in the due March 2015 category too. Not sure of date yet and don't see the midwife for 3 weeks yet. I think I will be about 9 weeks then.
The tiredness has me already, heartburn and sore boobs ?

charlieis30 · 29/07/2014 00:19

Hi to all the military people! I'm not military but several close family members are. My SIL sat on a commission for her service (not in the UK) about women in the military and how to make life better for them. 1) she was the only woman on the commission and 2) when she canvassed her friends about what she should bring up as an issue, the no.1 think was the fit of the trousers! I think they were still wearing mens' trousers to too much room in the front and not enough in the back! My sister loves her uniform though, says it's like going to work in pajamas....
