butter I loved being pregnant last time round, so much good will from people- by and large people are so excited for you! And watching the baby grow and picking out all the things you need is so lovely. Mind you, first time round I only felt queasy about 5 times, which I was expecting again, but I have been much more nauseous this time so I am slightly less cheerful!
In other news, I tried to run this morning but after a mile I started to get tummy aches so had to stop. Rubbish!
Congratulations safra excellent news

ApplebyMennym · 28/07/2014 11:31

Morning all, good news here, saw a tiny little heartbeat and I'm measuring 7+1! New edd 15th March which I believe is Mothers Day!

The relief is unbelievable. We told ds1 and 2 when we got home. Ds2 doesn't really understand, but he liked looking at the scan picture. Ds1 is hoping for a girl!

Good luck to anyone still waiting for a scan.

Congrats Safra that's awesome news! Fishfingersarnie I know how you feel, I don't enjoy this part of pregnancy either, I feel completely wretched and it just seems to drag on forever until you can start making it common knowledge, buying stuff etc.

fourmonthstogo · 28/07/2014 11:44

Congrats apple!

smokeandglitter · 28/07/2014 11:53

Woo, congrats Apple! How exciting! So glad for you.

Butterpuff · 28/07/2014 11:56

Congrats Apple very exciting.

ChatEnOeuf · 28/07/2014 12:04

Great news apple and Safra

Butter I enjoyed it once I got to about 18 weeks and could tolerate a cup of tea again. Until then I was a grumpy cow Grin Continued to be good until about 33 weeks when the little gymnast hauled herself to head down and spent the next month kicking my chest and stomach.

notoasthere · 28/07/2014 12:21

Yay apple and safra

Sending love purplecirle

Yay apple great news. I phoned about my scan as dh is away for most of September so we want it before then and I am apparently next in line to get mine booked. She wouldn't tell me over the phone when it'll be but I should get it booked and letter sent out in next day or so. Fingers crossed its before 22 August as we are seeing all my family then and desperately want the scan first. I'll be 12+4 on 22nd so we'll hopefully get it before then.

theonewiththenoisychild · 28/07/2014 13:53

i got my scan appointment in the post today 10th september Smile but its at 8:30 in the morning so a bit awkward for school run. but i dont want to call to re book it as it will probably be a lot longer to wait then. bit sad that oh cant be there too Sad

PickledPorcupine · 28/07/2014 14:02

Glad the scans have gone well.

So sorry purplecircle big hugs to you x

Has anyone had any luck/experience with moving scan dates? Are they accommodating? I'm pretty sure mine will come through on the first day of autumn term. Really don't feel like I can ask for time off after having 6 weeks off!

notoasthere · 28/07/2014 14:14

I had to move my 12 week one with ds as we were on holiday and it was fine.

Got my booking in appointment tomorrow - I'm hoping the mw doesn't try to argue the toss with me when I decline my blood screening/getting weighed/providing a urine sample... maybe I need to prepare a badge saying 'awkward mare' to wear as a warning.

Before that, I have to get through a dinner out tonight - looking at the menu, everything on there makes me want to hurl at the thought so not sure how it is going to go!

notoast do you mind me asking why you are refusing all tests? I'm just curios that's all.

ZylaB · 28/07/2014 14:38

My booking in scan isn't until the 13th August, think they make us wait here! Mind you, dunno what they'll do in it, been to hospital twice hehe

KeeperOfTheZoo · 28/07/2014 14:39

Hi all, feel like I've been away for ages so much has happened since I was last on.

So sorry for purple.

Congrats to all those who've had scans and found little beating hearts in there! I wonder if any of us (and there are so many of us now that surely the odds are shortening) Will find out in the next few weeks that we're having twins?! Shock I feel so big and bloated now that I wouldn't be surprised if it's me! And in theory it could happen - my Mum is a twin and I know that at least 3 of my cousins have twins (I have nearly 40 cousins but don't know most of them so it could be even more than 3). In fact one cousin has 5 children including 2 sets of twins! Shock

Anyway, first things first I've got my first MW appointment tomorrow so I'm really looking forward to that - might start to feel a bit more real after that I think.

We told our parents/siblings last night when we did a BBQ for everyone. They all seem really happy for us, even MIL put on a nearly-convincing show (despite then afterwards saying to DH on the quiet that "4 years is the perfect age gap, but your gap (will be 2 yrs 9 months) will be ok too". Well thanks for that - unless I'm an elephant I'm not going to stay pregnant long enough to give us the age gap that you want us to have...! Angry

MGFM · 28/07/2014 15:06

I have to say over the past few weeks, I have felt pretty smug that I haven't really had any nausea or any MS. Well, all day yesterday and all day today I felt sick, I haven't actually been sick but I am constantly nauseous.

Had an argument with FIL yesterday at lunch. Think of the most sexist man you know who will never admit to being wrong then multiply by 10 and that is what he is like. Drives me up the wall! The hormones probably don't help. Thank god his son isn't like him.

Congrats to everyone who has had a good strong scan! I have mine tomorrow! Feeling excited and nervous at the same time.

pinkandstripey · 28/07/2014 15:14

What a lot of posts!

Congrats apple you must be so relieved :)

((Hugs)) to purplecircle, hope you're being looked after x

Welcome to the newbies :)

Just poddling on here, still have an ill dp so I took DS to see my mum yesterday, had a lovely day out.

Just emailed my bestie and ended with 'the 4 of us would love to see you'... See if she works it out lol

I'm terrified of getting twins :( I know is silly, cos if it is then of course it'll be fine, but I've had a few tears when people have joked about it.

Hope all the sickness starts to ease soon for all those afflicted xx

notoasthere · 28/07/2014 15:35

Because I'm an awkward mare foscar? Wink I had the booking bloods with ds and don't see the need for them this time round (barely had enough sex to conceive, let alone catch syphilis Wink )

I refuse to be weighed for a bmi as it's possibly the most unreliable and inaccurate way of determining whether someone is overweight or not.

I refused to have the gtt last time too as it's a seriously flawed test and it's not offered to all women in all trusts, I didn't feel after research it was necessary.

I might let them check my iron and antibodies at 28 weeks if I'm feeling cooperative!

I'm high risk for twins - I was meant to be a twin and my mum had a subsequent twin pregnancy which she lost - so it would be a bit scary if I was pregnant with them too.

OP posts:
Butterpuff · 28/07/2014 15:52

pink Id love twins. One of each. I'm very low risk so I don't think it is likely but it would be wonderful to have a two for one pregnancy as I am really suffering so far. If I had known how bad this nausea would be I might not have been so keen to get pregnant to start with.

coastergirl · 28/07/2014 15:56

I'm having a strange old time. Really can't work out what is going on. On the one hand I had bleeding again on Saturday which was a little worse than the spotting I had previously. It stopped and I've just had tiny bits of spotting since. Today I felt more positive because I woke up feeling sick and my boobs hurt so much! But now I have pain really low down and I'm scared I might start bleeding again. I have a scan first thing tomorrow morning but I'm scared about that too. My dates are a little confusing and I think I'm just about 6 weeks now, so I'm scared they might not be able to see a heartbeat.

I just don't know what to think.

ZylaB · 28/07/2014 15:57

Blood test booked for 2 weeks today, nifty test.. Harmony by another name and a scan. I'll be just 10 weeks...

charlieis30 · 28/07/2014 16:10

I'm with you butterpuff - this is my first and I'd been thinking I'd like 4 but not sure I could do the nausea 3 more times! 2 for 1 would be a good deal for me right now (no family history on either side so unlikely though!)

PickledPorcupine · 28/07/2014 16:31

Thanks notoast. Hopefully I can just move it.

We have 3 sets of identical twin cousins between us so could be. I'd love twins but the idea of my 5' tall self carrying them scares me!

persepolis123 · 28/07/2014 16:48

Yay for all the positive scan news Smile

There is a history of twins in my family. Three women on my mum’s side have twins and another two were carrying twins but lost one of the babies. I wanted twins first time round so I would only have to go through pregnancy once. We always planned on having three or four children but if this baby is a singleton I think we will be stopping at two. I don’t think I want to do pregnancy again.

charlieis30 · 28/07/2014 17:04

Just rang my private scan centre re tomorrow's viability scan (will be 7+6) and she said I don't have to have a full bladder. I thought you did this early on? Anyone have any experience of scanning round this time?

ZylaB · 28/07/2014 17:10

I had a scan at 5 +2 which was with dildocam, then another at 7+2 which was done normally without a full bladder. I don't think it gets in the way as much at this stage :)
