MGFM · 26/07/2014 12:21

Getting my hair done whilst reading the mumsnet guide to pregnancy. Had really bad roots.

lavender20 · 26/07/2014 12:23

Thanks fishfingersarnies! Goatsocks I had to laugh at your plain crackers livening things up :)

smokeandglitter · 26/07/2014 13:33

Anyone else feeling nauseous, but hungry and not have anything in the house that appeals? We're waiting for a shop and I can either have rice cakes or lettuce... neither appeal.

Fruit slushie sounds great Zebra!

TheScenicRoute · 26/07/2014 14:21

Yesterday I cried actual tears of sadness to S Club 7- don't stop, never give up.

After 4&1/2 years of TTC and 6 IVFs.

God help me, what have I become? Lol.

TheScenicRoute · 26/07/2014 14:22

OMG and recried just now thinking about it again!!! Blush

Popsicle30 · 26/07/2014 14:24

Trying really hard to catch up on the thread so not to miss anyone out...I hope everyone is doing well/managing (just) with ms and nausea. Also welcome to all the newbies. It is becoming a very busy thread! Smoke big thanks for the list!

My nausea is not too bad today, I think I'm finally learning that I need to constantly graze! Also helped today by snacking on nectarines, ice lollies and crackers. I've also squeezed two oranges and had with ice. Zebra fruit is the only thing that seems to quench my thirst! Not even ice cold water does it!

Had my second mw appt which was my official booking in appt. She came to the house so was quite relaxed. I will hopefully get my scan date through soon. Then I know it will start to feel real!

Can I ask if people have told their work yet? I haven't as no immediate safety need to but wondering whether I should do it before or after scan?

Popsicle30 · 26/07/2014 14:25

Aww scenic big hugs! Lol

m33r · 26/07/2014 14:38

scenic no wonder you cried! Thrilled for you!

pops I told my asst manager as I trust her and wanted s

m33r · 26/07/2014 14:40

And wanted someone to know in case I was late or to cover for me (not been needed so far). Plan to tell my boss on Monday (will be 6+3) simply because we are a small team with a lot going on from march (when I'll obvs be out!). I have put together an action plan offering extra kit days etc so not going in cold... Nervous though!

goatsocks · 26/07/2014 15:19

I'm nervous about telling work too. I have one tricky work assignment involving travel and difficult conditions coming up when I'll be about 10/11 weeks and I really don't think it would be a good idea to do it. But all my superiors are male and I suspect won't be impressed...

m33r · 26/07/2014 15:58

goats my worry is I go in saying what I can do but then ms or fatigue hitting me (which I've avoided so far) and as soon as I say I'm going to still be great and I'll do x, y and z the. Phoning in sick for 6 weeks... Such a conundrum. Not to go on a feminist rant but it is really hard being a woman!

ApplebyMennym · 26/07/2014 16:16

Hi all, not been on in a few days as I have been feeling so rough - a good sign I think!

Beige carbs are my saving grace, I nibble on crackers and sometimes crisps during the day, then in the evenings I feel much better so I can have a full meal. I'm developing a little bump already which is making it a bit difficult to conceal - I'm a big girl but more on the hips and bum so my tummy sticking out is quite obvious!

Nice to see more newbies here, this group seems huge!

Scan on Monday when I should be about 6+4 so hopefully no more dildo cam.

FoscarC · 26/07/2014 16:45

My bump has made it appearance today. It's is definitely there and very obvious. And quite solid. Very different to a normal tummy. I'm 8+4 I think. Didn't think I'd show yet. Slightly embarrassed. Think I may just be eating too much! Dh loves it though.

FoscarC · 26/07/2014 16:47

Oooh, and today is the day I would have been due my Second period. That's 2 missed periods now. I am slowly starting to get excited and believing that this really is happening.

goatsocks · 26/07/2014 16:48

m33r totally with you there on the feminist rant front. It's ridiculous we have to go through all this!

Appleby I lol'd at the phrase dildo cam.

coastergirl · 26/07/2014 17:14

I am in a foul mood today. It started this morning when some inconsiderate dickhead blocked my drive and made me miss the McDonald's breakfast that I've wanted for days. I just don't seem to be able to snap out of it. Everyone is pissing me off. All I want is to do the things that normally cheer me up and I can't do any of them. I don't feel at all like myself and it's making me wish I wasn't pregnant. Which of course I feel awful about.

Sorry for the rant. On a side note, does anyone know whether a scan at 7-8 weeks is likely to be internal or not?

ZylaB · 26/07/2014 17:23

Is anyone going to have the harmony test? I think we're going to in 2 or 3 weeks, mostly cos I fret over everything so it will hopefully pit my mind at ease.

Is anyone else doing it?

ZylaB · 26/07/2014 17:24

coaster I had a scan last week at 7 + 2 and it wasn't dildo cam. She warned me it might be, but we didn't need to :)

coastergirl · 26/07/2014 17:29

Thanks, fingers crossed. Although I've gained so much weight in the past year, which goes straight on my belly, so I'm worried that might have an effect.

I don't think we will be doing any extra testing. Can't afford it and it wouldn't make a difference to us.

coastergirl · 26/07/2014 17:30

Zyla what you could you see on the scan at that point?

notoasthere · 26/07/2014 17:51

7-8 weeks should be ok abdominally if your bmi isn't too high

I didn't have the nt test last time, and won't this time either.

kettlepot · 26/07/2014 18:09

Oh coaster I'd hug you if it wouldn't piss both of us off! I've been in such a crappy mood all day, and finding it really hard so far. Constant nausea, really uncomfortable and the no energy has hit me hard today. Everything DP does is wrong (it's not, he's being lovely) and I had a (mostly internal) strop at the pub earlier when most of the lunch options included mayo or soft cheese.

ZylaB · 26/07/2014 18:23

coaster a small blob that was the baby and a heartbeat which looked like a flicker on the screen :) :)
