Ah lovely. Keeper that made me laugh about a hug if it wouldn't piss us both off! I'm not much of a hugger at the best of times.

I've just spoken to the hospital and they have moved my scan forward to this Tuesday because I've had more bleeding.

FoscarC · 26/07/2014 20:01

zyla the area I live in is in a pilot test thing where you automatically get the nuchal translucency thing and the blood test that gives you a 1 in something chance of genetic problems. And then if it is more than 1 in 1000 we get offered a new blood test that can show as accurately as CVS what is going on. I know one of these is the harmony test but not sure which one. I'm having the first test and then the second if needed. My sister had a baby with severe genetic problems that didn't survive and I would want to find out sooner of that was happening to us.

theonewiththenoisychild · 26/07/2014 20:49

yayyyyyyyy my booking appointment came today in the post its 1st september. too long for me to wait but at least i wont have long to wait for my 12 week scan after that Smile

Lifeisabeach · 26/07/2014 21:45

Coaster, I had bleeding at just over 6 weeks when pregnant with DD, had an external scan and they were able to see bean and heartbeat. Fingers crossed all goes well for you.

I am so bloody irritable at the moment, everything annoys me. It's like sensory overload or something - I don't like being touched, the TV seems too loud, my OH has put a fan on in the living room to cool us down and I can't stand the feel or sound of it. Grrr!

Back home from camping holiday and have done 4 loads of washing already, plus all the unpacking and putting away...I need another holiday to recover!!

Keep feeling lightheaded when I stand up, almost like I'm going to faint. Could that be low BP or low iron levels?

coastergirl · 26/07/2014 23:50

Life: I have low blood pressure generally and the main symptom is going dizzy/light headed. Maybe it's that.

Rainbow555 · 27/07/2014 00:35

So my app suggested exercise helps nausea, I went for a walk, it failed yuk yuk yuk

mariomadmum · 27/07/2014 06:36

sickness has hit me this morning! as soon as I woke up.. bleugh

Rainbow555 · 27/07/2014 08:07

Sorry to hear that mario rough day here too!

smokeandglitter · 27/07/2014 10:42

Same mario. The last few days I've been increasingly nauseous. And I want to get so much sorted around the house today. Still, if I feel sick that's a good sign!

Both anxious and excited for my early scan Wednesday, just hope everything's ok.

DurhamRed · 27/07/2014 11:53

Hi guys, finally made it to Brittany (glorious sunshine!) and all I can say is that I definitely do not recommend travelling by ferry when you suffer morning sickness!!! :-(

I never suffer travel sickness but that was rough!! Wouldn't mind but the crossing was smooth!! Bluh!

Hope everyone is OK and not suffering ms/heat too badly.

notoasthere · 27/07/2014 12:30

During my pregnancy with ds, I couldn't go food shopping as the sight of food was too much for me. Thought I'd avoided it this time round - 'fraid not. Nearly lost breakfast 1 and 2 in markies earlier....Angry

Oh Durham, that's what I'm worried about! Travelling to France next Sunday! Hope it's eased a bit by the time you're on your way home!

DurhamRed · 27/07/2014 13:14

Me too Tea I've been sick every day so far, so I'm crossing my fingers for some relief for the return journey!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 27/07/2014 13:45

Been away from MN for a couple of days as we've been busy this weekend. Caught up with friends of DH and their young families yesterday, and managed to give very short answers to the questions about whether we think we'll have any more kids. Went out for a lovely meal last night with 2 girl from work. We try to go out once a month but haven't been able to for about 3 months so it was a really good night. I did end up telling them though, which I hadn't been planning on doing but they ground me down! I don't mind them knowing though as I would lean on them if anything went wrong.

Taking DS to his friend's birthday party soon then we've got our parents/siblings coming round for a BBQ when we're planning on giving them the good news.

Wish us luck...!

ZebraZeebra · 27/07/2014 14:02

Sorry we're all so sick still :(

Had a horrendous night last night...constant throwing up from 6-11pm. I suspect a migraine because I had a bad headache all day and had been out in the sun for a couple of hours. NOT WHAT I NEEDED!

Getting so pissed off with this heat now! RAIN! SNOW! HAIL! BAD WEATHER!

It's sending me a bit loopy.

nottoast food shopping is also hell here too. Can't stand it, have thrown up in many supermarkets. How many weeks left until second trimester??

Durham have a fab holiday!

coaster also sporting a "bump"here too. I think it's just the uterus growing and bloating and making lots of room for baby and placenta. Fear not!

charlieis30 · 27/07/2014 14:17

Afternoon all! Finally beck in Blighty, SO relieved, although the 12h flight was rough. Poor DH - I was incredibly irritable as I felt both nauseous and bloated.

Lifeisabeach / coaster I actually rang 111 this morning as I had repeated dizziness. Wasn't until I was going through all my symptoms that I remembered that I normally have low blood pressure so that explained that. The doc on the other end said it was pretty normal for preggo ladies to have low blood pressure. I measured my BP when I got off the phone (DH has a machine) and it was much lower than normal, especially when I was standing up. The doc told me to make sure that I drink lots of water (more than normal in this weather) and move slowly.

persepolis123 · 27/07/2014 14:40

I have been so ill this weekend. Sorry so many of you are suffering too. Debating whether to go to work tomorrow and also whether to make a doctor's appointment to see if they will prescribe me something. All I've had all weekend is a few mouthfuls of veg and a pot noodle and that was a struggle. The nausea in the mornings is getting debilitating. Yesterday and today I've spent all morning in bed.

charlieis30 · 27/07/2014 14:43

oh persepolis that sucks. Try fruit maybe? I've found that bananas and watermelon (in season yay!) help for the carbohydrates, sugar and water. You could whizz them into a smoothie if real food is just too horrid. I've been drinking a lot of apple juice as well for some reason.

PintOfTea · 27/07/2014 16:50

Hi all. Sorry to read all the reports of sickness and suffering. Persepolis, if you still can't keep anything down, I definitely think a trip to the docs is worth it. I know there are things they can give you so push for it. Crackers with a scrape of marmite hit the spot for my super-sick friend, could you fancy anything like that?

I feel very lucky, the background nausea appears in waves mostly in the afternoon, but no actually sickness touch wood. What I am suffering with is a total lack of energy. My limbs felt like lead by 9 last night and I've just been mooching around all weekend. Hopefully this will improve as my iron levels do. My wonderful dh is looking after me and amusing DD a lot. I've apologised about 6 times this weekend for being stroppy Blush I am trying, it just seems to tumble from my mouth before the brain is engaged!

Jealous of the all the little bumps. I'm slim, but was carrying a bit of excess belly before getting pg and any extra is undoubtedly just bloat so I can't really claim it's baby yet!

PickledPorcupine · 27/07/2014 18:21

Sorry to all you sick people. Definitely a doc visit required if it's completely taking over or ruining your quality of life. There are things they can do.

I have afternoon/evening bloat but as the baby is only a blueberry this week I can't really claim bump yet.

We've decided to tell our parents and siblings over the next week. My SIL has booked me into a spa where I can't do a lot so I'm going to be rumbled!

NotAQueef · 27/07/2014 20:11

Hi so sorry to hear of all the sickness. mine been better this weekend (though it improved around 10 weeks last time and returned with a vengeance when I started to produce bucket loads of phlegm which made me vomit every day'til 20 weeks).
spent the weekend with my sister which was lovely but involved the shopping trip from hell to Westfield Stratford, a missed train and me venting scary pregnarage at dp Blush

just listened to my voice mail and had message from my midwife who is coming to book me in on Sunday 10 August! excited to have an appointment.

sending anti nausea vibes to all x

Rainbow555 · 27/07/2014 20:21

notoast I went food shopping yesterday and it was awful! I had to give up and let DH finish and go sit in the car!
The fruit smoothie worked well though
And I also braved my hatred for ginger and sipped ginger beer and nibbled a gingernut, not sure it helped. Just being weekend and spending most of the morning in bed was the best thing! Now sitting here trying to eat breakfast and contemplate getting up got a morning meeting at work.
persepolis defo got to the docs see what ge can give you!

ApplebyMennym · 27/07/2014 20:26

So, second scan tomorrow morning 9.20. And this morning I threw up for the first time! I think I tried to eat and have my vitamin tablet too early, I was awake early needing a wee, then couldn't get back to sleep so had my customary crackers and tablet. Managed one cracker then it all came back up. Was horrid, I'm hoping it was a one off. Glad dh was home, he came and cleaned up (I didn't make it to the loo, was sitting on the bed squeezing my wrists and telling myself I wasn't going to throw up) and looked after me.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

PickledPorcupine · 27/07/2014 20:47

Appleby your dh is a star! Mine has been brilliant too. I keep telling him how good he is so he feels appreciated. I think they like to feel they're actually doing something.

KentExpecting · 27/07/2014 21:01

Hey everyone,

Is there space for another one here? I'm 6+4, EDD 18 March and this is my first dc :)

Really not coping well with the heat. I think it's making the nausea even worse. Haven't actually been sick so far, but (TMI?) seem to be gagging more and more often. So seems to be a matter of time really.

Good news, replacing crackers with popcorn was an inspired idea. Highly recommended. Next to no actual taste but enough to keep me from feeling even more nauseous.

Struggling to hide sickness from DSS, who is 14 and does not know yet. Don't want to tell him till 12/13 weeks - I don't mind him knowing, but my DH's evil ex really must not know for a while. If anything goes wrong, I really don't want that horrible person to know and gloat... Or even worse, be fake sympathetic!

In other news, I'm beginning to think that a three-hour commute and lots of business travel might not be too much fun for the next 7-8 months. Bump had already been to the US and is going to Germany next week and isn't even a visible bump yet!!! Anyone else worried about this kind if thing?

One last thing: I had my booking appointment last week. Pretty early but they just gave me an appointment straight away when I called. They said the first scan would be no earlier than wk12. But had a letter yesterday inviting me to a scan on 3 August. Firstly, that's a Sunday... Anyone ever heard of Sunday scans? And secondly, that's week 7. Makes no sense. What are the chances they messed up the dates in that letter? Will try to call and reschedule tomorrow :)
