Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Stats here.

I've got a sling for dog walking too. Can't remember what it's called now but we got it second hand from one of DH's friends and they're 60 quid in John Lewis!!

I'm planning on working til Xmas too. Should have just over a year off with annual leave - if finances allow!

RPopz · 21/07/2014 18:14

Ah it's a caboo one apparently Smile

HenriettaTurkey · 21/07/2014 18:32

Ah, slings. DS hated hated hated being in one, which was a shame, but may try dc2 in them to see how we go.

I have a dodgy hip though, so it may be just while they are little..

Went pram investigating again today. Think we will definitely go with bugaboo chameleon & buy extra all terrain wheels & a buggy board. Were looking, umming & aahing when my dm said df had offered to buy it for us! I said 'does he know it's the best part of a grand?' And she said he did! Amazing. We'll order it as soon as we've had the 20 week scan.

I think it's because our previous phil & ted's chopped my finger off and I had to have it mended with plastic surgery, so dad really wants me to have a pram I'm happy with, even if it's a bit more. I'm thrilled & massively grateful.

Bloody hell Henrietta!! Shock

I'm going to see my parents on Thursday. Not sure if I'llget any offers for helping out - a bit probably but I doubt up to a grand. I'll just have to look out for my fingers. Hope yours are ok now Henrietta.
I went to mamas and papas today to look at buggies. They're enourmous! I think I need a bigger house. Shock

RPopz · 21/07/2014 19:23

Star - I know right!! I went in asking to see the most compact prams... they showed me them and I was like "err... really!?"

Saraswati · 21/07/2014 19:40

Turns out my 'eczema' is ringworm Blush got a prescription for some cream, I feel so dirty!!

Hope you are ok phoebs

Your finger henrietta Shock note to self: avoid Phil and teds

phoebs88 · 21/07/2014 20:14

Hopefully the cream will get it all sorted, Sara.

I'm having a thyroid test to make sure there's nothing wrong there, but otherwise gp wasn't too concerned. He assured me that I'd be putting on plenty of weight soon enough!!

Minibagel · 21/07/2014 20:25

Henrietta...ouch!! How did that happen?!

RPopz · 21/07/2014 20:25

Blimey Saras. Where's that come from?

blizy · 21/07/2014 20:47

Omg Henrietta!

Hope it clears up soon saras.

Mummyk8, hope the op went well and you are resting. X

Saraswati · 21/07/2014 20:57

No idea, doc said it could be dogs or somewhere else. I worm the dogs every month but they could have picked up something. She said my immune system is probably depleted because of the baby and my sickness so I might pick up odd things - another case of pregnancy glamour!!

rumisyum · 21/07/2014 20:58

Thanks mini! I"m sure I"ll get in touch for more nappy tips. We're set on trying cloth nappies.

Love the yoga plans saras. My friend trained as a yoga teacher last year - I was so jealous! And oof, hope the cream sorts the ringworm asap.

Egads at your finger Henrietta! I had no idea prams could be so dangerous. Blimey!

Glad your GP thought all was well phoebs.

Re mat leave plans, I'll probably work till mid-December, then take annual leave, and start mat leave proper on my EDD. Though I'm considering sloping off work end November because I LOVE Christmas, and the chance to have all December Christmassing it up might be too good to pass up. Wink Planning to be off for a year - whoohoo!

Just had pulled pork and beans and cherry brownies for dinner. Total foodgasm. I bet the baby LOVED it. Grin

Keepontrudging · 21/07/2014 21:01

Ouch henrietta!

Sara- oh Gawd... Atleast you now know!

As for slings- I love them! I have then close caboo bought and awaiting my newborn :)

Florence was in the ergo and the baby bjorn. Ego is the one I much prefer as flo is big and this supports her and me better. I also am keen to use the sling a lot as I can bf newborn in the caboo (why I chose it) whilst tending to flo. I am rather anxious about flo feeling pushed out so if I can have my hands free for her as much as poss I will be happy.

I have already cries over having to leave her when I go into give birth to the new baby :/ I really hope it's no longer than a night.

LadyCottington · 21/07/2014 21:02

Ringworm isn't actually a type of worm, it's a fungal infection that's pretty common in this warmer weather. I sometimes get it on my boobs!

I'm not sure when I'm going to go on maternity leave. I'm on my feet all day and I'm finding hard at the moment, who knows what it's going to be like when I'm huge. I'm hoping end of November/beginning of December.

RPopz · 21/07/2014 21:28

Mr Rpopz just requested to watch OBEM! So we are... erk.

rumisyum · 21/07/2014 21:43

Haha, hope he likes it!

I like the look of the caboo! It looks simpler than many of the wraps, which is a big plus for me. Wink

Henrietta, ouch! That sounds awful.

Sara, glad the docs have sorted you out.

HenriettaTurkey · 21/07/2014 21:54

Yeah...it was a phil & Ted sport which had a rather horrible hinge. Apparently they can send out covers for them & have fixed it on new versions but we didn't know that...it's mainly better now but I have a bit of a funny nail now & a sensitive tip (ooh that sounds rude!)

I am hoping to work through till the beginning of Xmas hols (36 weeks), begin official leave on 2 January, hopefully for a year; maybe just till autumn term.

ViviPru · 21/07/2014 21:56

Yes the Caboo looks comfortable and adaptable without being too lentil-weaving.

Came across some corkers of marketing images during my search.... WTactualF is THIS all about?? Confused

KatnissEvermean · 21/07/2014 22:17

Haha, ViviPru, he looks like the worlds worst super hero. Cabbage Man with his sidekick, Sprout.

Talking about Christmas, I am pretty excited about having a January baby because that means next year for their first Christmas our babies will have more of an idea about what's going in (even if all they're interested in is the wrapping paper). I am already ridiculously excited about starting new Christmas traditions as a little family!

phoebs88 · 21/07/2014 22:24

Haha Vivi, that is errr...interesting!!

Christmas with a little one sounds so amazing - I'm falling back in love with Christmas as we speak!

rumisyum · 21/07/2014 22:25

HAHA Viv, that's sent me into hysterics. Poor man!

Ooh Katniss, don't get me started on baby's first Christmas. I think I might die of excitement when it arrives. SmileSmileSmile
