Onwards into the 2nd trimester, where hopefully the bumps will overtake the poo factories!

Stats here.

Hullo Bangkok! Good to see you. Smile

Ooh, TKMaxx, good tip Camsie!

Yeah, the Joolz is very like some of the Silver Cross models, and even the Uppababy, which was my first choice until I read that the wheels weren't always good on rough surfaces, which we're likely to have with the village we're moving to. But also neither of those are currently available in as nice condition for as cheap near me, so... Wink

So good to hear that I have spots to look forward to next. The joys!

Wow Sara the Joolz is a peach! I'm salivating over the grey and tan. Gutted they don't do an all-terrainer Sad

mummyk8 · 21/07/2014 00:17

Wondering if I'm the only one still awake. I have been trying to sleep for the last two hours. Need to be up at 5 to make sure I get to the hospital on time for my op tomorrow.Just so nervous I feel sick. Am going to be shattered tomorrow.

Pesto11 · 21/07/2014 02:43

Hope you've managed to fall back to sleep mummyk8... Good luck for tmrw : )
I'm up with aching calves! Can't lie still, walking around the room like a loon! Seriously when is this 'glow' supposed to start?!!
Gta be up for work in 4 hours...

16+2

Starbright24 · 21/07/2014 08:31

Good luck mummyk8

Cake to everyone who feels off today - although you don't have to have it for breakfast.

LadyCottington · 21/07/2014 08:42

Good luck for today mummyk8!

Pai skincare is also good for those with sensitive skin/eczema. It's made in the UK, is all natural and is good quality. They do a body oil and cream for stretch marks which is gorgeous. I'm also really slippery when I go to bed!

I never thought of TK Maxx for baby stuff! I used to love the one in Liverpool, I've had some amazing finds from there.

Really don't want to go to work today! I have a day off tomorrow but have to spend it calling real estate agents in Bristol Angry

blizy · 21/07/2014 09:56

Good luck mummyk8, thinkng of you today. X

Minibagel · 21/07/2014 10:15

Pram chat...be careful about thinking they are suitable for off road unless they have suspension, which most don't. The all terrain wheels are great but the chassis will still take a beating and ultimately can break if you use it regularly offroad. Some guarantees are voided by off road use, so definitely check with the manufacturer. We find a baby carrier much better than a pram for walks, as you can go anywhere, even on narrow country pathways. Ds1 loves to nap in his too.

ChineseFireball · 21/07/2014 10:30

hello ladies :) Thanks, Rum, for the new thread!

Sorry I'm so rubbish at keeping up on here at the moment! Just popping in quickly as I have to go to work to say that 1) we had a play with the new pushchair and car seat yesterday and we are really pleased (although have had to google to find the sun hood thing on the cabriofix seat - they've hidden it!), and 2) just had 16wk appointment and heard the heartbeat

Minibagel · 21/07/2014 10:46

Chinese are you finding out the sex at 20 weeks?

It seems 5 minutes since we were all 6 or 8 weeks and now the final scans are just around the corner!

I keep forgetting 15+1

Saraswati · 21/07/2014 10:56

can you tell the sex from the hearbeat chinese? I think mine was 155bpm when i had my appointment last week.

Good point about wheels etc mini I'm eyeing up carriers as I know my two dogs will be too much of handful with a pram (even though they re only tiny pomeranians). I like the ergobaby and also the mandula (or something like that, my cousin has recommended it to me). Anyone have a good carrier already they would recommend? I know my area have a sling library so I think I'll check that out before purchasing.

Also going back to our reusable nappy chat the other day, I've found out on the nappy lady website that some local councils give you money back for buying reusable nappies, mine give you about 30 when you purchase them. Not a great aount of money but it's out there to claim if your council do it, there's a list of the councils on the nappy lady website.

sleepisforthetired · 21/07/2014 12:14

Hi All,
Good luck for today mummyK.

I am feeling really anxious about going back to see MW on Wednesday after last week. Keep telling myself its all fine otherwise they would have taken action last week - and can feel something move (seems to either really like or dislike cold blackcurrant?!) so fingers crossed - but Wednesday needs to be over already

£30 is better than nothing! They are a big investment.

We have prepared our listing of close parent bamboo pop ins for ebay so last chance to any january mamas to buy them for £50 than we're listing them for.

REAL NAPPIES FOR SALE!
20 shells and bamboo liners (enough for full time use) plus 6 night time boosters for when baby gets older, 3 washable storage bags for keeping dirty nappies in before bunging the lot in the wash, also 2 rolls of close parent nappy liners.

We worked out last night they were used from 3 weeks old to 4 months when we moved house, so they are in excellent almost new condition. Only 2 liners are marked and 1 inside of a shell but not visible when worn and inevitable with cloth nappies! They are extra soft and absorbent from being washed for 3months, as absorbency improves with time.

Nappies last from newborn to potty with no need to buy anything else. Some reusables gave different sizes as they grow so work out more expensive.

Cost £290 new inc extra official close parent bags and their own liners from close parent website.

£150 plus p&p

I have photos if anyone is interested and there is lots morw info about these nappies on the close parent website inc a cool video showing you how to use them.

Dec2013mummy · 21/07/2014 12:34

Hi all,
Goog luck mummy for today. Hope it goes well. I have my midwife appointment in an hour.

So so tired today as Ds was awake from 2 till half 4, just playing around in his cot! He is such a monkey! I had my first day back a work today after maternity leave but only popped in for an hour as I'm a teacher and so it was supposed to be a ted day but people were just sorting stuff as the head has gone away!! I now have 6 weeks off until I go back properly!! This is the life :)
When does everyone plan on going on maternity? In going off ASAP I think due to child care for Ds. Also I was very ill last time and went into early labor at 29 weeks so don't want that to happen again.

Minibagel · 21/07/2014 12:40

Also an interesting article here suggesting the cost of disposable from birth to 2 1/2 is £1274. So even if you're not into cloth nappies from an eco point of view, it makes financial sense. I wish we had space to dry them or we would still be using them.

It also compares the different price points of reusable napies which vary hugely.
