Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

ickle what I did with DD1 was note down for a few days when she woke, fed etc and then worked a basic routine around that. Kept it basic because they change so quickly when they're tiny, but it helped to have an idea of when things would happen so I could plan outside activities (like shopping!) around them.

It's going to be more difficult this time with a toddler as well, but having a vague plan will help.

KitKatChick · 06/08/2014 23:38

Just going to sleep on the post natal ward with little Anna. I'll share my story once the last three ladies give birth which I'm sure won't be long now. The only advise I have is if you're in pain, take whatever pain relief you need, I only regretted I haven't had the epidural sooner. All I need now is to just look at my little sunshine beside my not so comfortable hospital bed and all the pain is forgotten.

Good luck Emily, Fox and Mupperoon!

Casmama · 07/08/2014 01:59

Ongratulaftions KitKat, love her name.

Howly · 07/08/2014 04:16

kitkat if I hadn't gave been fully dilated by the time I got to hospital I would have had an epidural! The pain is horrendous isn't it!! Funnily enough I found the 6 hours of dilating at home more painful that the pushing bit!

mupperoon · 07/08/2014 08:30

Well! Lyra Calla arrived on Wed evening after a 12 hr natural labour followed by an unwieldy series of events and interventions culminating in an emergency c-section. I am knackered but delighted, she's a bouncing 9.1lbs and peachy and snuggly and she loves her daddy.

Congratulations KitKat and baby Anna!

Emilybunny · 07/08/2014 08:58

Congratulations kitkat and mupperoon lovely names and you must be absolutely over the moon with your new bundles of joy.

fox just us two left now. I'm 41 weeks today and definitely think I will be the last one. Keep stressing.. Why isn't this baby coming out? My body just doesn't feel like it's getting ready for labour.. Mum said she didn't feel any BH or symptoms before her labours started so not to worry. I just feel like it's never going to happen. I have a sweep booked for Saturday, but don't want to wait until then... Some people have said it can take 2/3 sweeps or induction... That's going to be another week at least. Can't take being pregnant any longer.... Argh!

Plateofcrumbs · 07/08/2014 09:44

Congratulations kitkat and mupperoon - sounds like neither of you had the birth you planned, but it doesn't seem so important when you 'veg it your baby in your arms.

In hindsight I think the worst part of the birth was that between the exhaustion and being stitched up and all the people in the room (arguing with each other!) I don't really remember the first time I held DS, it's all a bit fuzzy. I thought that moment would be etched in my mind forever but it's lost.

Plateofcrumbs · 07/08/2014 09:45

You 'veg it = you've got.

Fox28 · 07/08/2014 10:18

Congratulations kitkat and mupperoon! Beautiful names!!

Can't believe it's just the 2 of us left Emily! I'm being induced tomorrow so hopefully not long to go now. 40+12 today! Shock Not thrilled about the thought of induction, but all that really matters is that she'll be ok, and I'll get to meet her at long last! Smile You could end up meeting your little one before I do still - like you/your mum say it can all change so quickly!

GrouchyKiwi · 07/08/2014 10:47

Congratulations Kitkat and mupperoon!

icklekid · 07/08/2014 11:46

plate I had thought dh would announce if baby was a girl or boy but in the event of just needing ds out was midwife who brought him to me asking if we wanted to know- he then showed us Grin

fox induction isn't the end of the world - just get through it focusing on getting to meet baby- that's what I did!

Collie1806 · 07/08/2014 13:09

Huge congratulations Kitkat and Mupperoon.

Fox I was induced at 40+14 and had DS at 40+15. I've got nothing but positive things to say about being induced; it'll be worth it in the end, and once your LO is in your arms you'll not care how she arrived Grin

Fox28 · 07/08/2014 17:13

Thanks collie and ickle - I'm sure it'll be fine. I just can't wait to meet her now Smile

Emilybunny · 08/08/2014 00:38

Ooh good luck fox really hoping you have a positive induction. Looking forward to joining in soon :)

justhayley · 08/08/2014 04:23

Hi all,
I'm so so behind on this - thought I'd be able to keep up to date but my little miss has other ideas!
Will catch up and update properly in 18 years when I get chance but just wanted to say hello while I'm up for a night feed.
Good luck to the final few mummies to be and congratulations to all that have had their bubbas in the last few weeks.

I called DD Phoebe, agreed on her middle name before DP went back to work then woke up the next day not liking it Confused he's home for 3 weeks in the morning so I may try change it but the original middle name is his fav and only half decent contribution - Men hey, I don't no why he doesn't leave the naming part up to me Smile
Right after 3 poos in a row AngryConfused Phoebe has gone back to sleep so I'll love you & leave you.
Catch up soon xxx

Ok read a few posts as DD decided she was only pretending to be asleep.

Those suffering with stitches get some tea tree oil and put a few drops in the bath and even better on your pad. It gives a cooling sensation and works wonders. Smile Lavender and clary sage are also really soothing, but the tea tree is an antiseptic so will help with healing etc.

Engorgment: I was in agony, then used now thinking it's Wedla but could be wrong will check in the morning, but used a nursing oil massaged it into boobs and enforcement & pain went away. It's a miracle oil. I only bought it because the box was spoilt and boots were selling it for 50p before I gave birth, but it's amazing.

Right think DD really has gone to sleep now so unless she wakes as I get her back into the moses very high chance I'll love you & leave you once again lol

Congratulations kitkat and mupperoon - love both names. (Big fan of the His Dark Materials books too so especially love Lyra!)

hayley hope Phoebe got back to sleep for you. DS woke every hour demanding food and would only go back to sleep on me yawn. We had a few nights of pretty good sleep before this so hoping it's a blip/growth spurt.

BlueC2 · 08/08/2014 17:14

Huge congratulations mupperoon and kitkat hope you're both doing ok.

Emily and fox hope your turn comes v soon!

its sorry you had such a bad night- 3-4 week growth spurt sounds v possible!

Hayley hope little lady let you get some sleep

grouchy and ickle I'm still trying to figure out some kind of routine based on record of DD's feeds but every time I think I've got it sussed she changes her mind!

We have a wedding to go to tomorrow - I bought a Mamas and Papas nursing dress a while ago as we have another wedding in October too but now I'm stressing I'm going to be too hot- it's got little cap sleeves but I've been living in vest tops and with the koala DD stuck on me I tend to get v hot!! And then I'll get grouchy. Nothing else in my wardrobe which is remotely suitable and DH just doesn't understand my stress.

KitKatChick · 09/08/2014 18:44

Thank you for all the good wishes. We're settling home pretty well. I'm extremely lucky Anna is such a settled baby. We've taken her out on her first walk outside today as it was so nice in London. It was only 10 mins but really nice for me to stretch my legs.

Mupperoon you're experience sounds much like mine but I was a bit luckier and the interventions stopped at ventouse delivery but my epidural was already topped up for a c-section. Glad you're doing OK now as you said I never felt more exhausted in my life but once you can see the little ones none of it matters.

You're right Plate the amount of people in the theatre can be quite frightening in it's own right. I think I counted 12 in the end.

Hope the induction went well Fox, can't wait to hear more baby news.

Good luck Emily :)
