Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

its no news from ickle yet though think she had to be back at hospital this afternoon if contractions not started before so hopefully it's all progressing well for her without too much intervention!

I've managed to get childcare cover for this weekend sorted in case things do kick off (due date tomorrow-come on baby!) and DH has apologised for his moaning this morning - said he just needed to 'vent' Hmm

ZingGoesPop · 11/07/2014 20:33

weird evening cramps have arrived. bit of BH, bit of side pain, bit of periody ache taking their turns - the usual "cocktail".
I do find them tedious, they get me wondering if anything will happen, but then nothing.

Blue

you need to warn baby that you had enough and s/he must vacate the premises asap.
use a firm voice.
it won't really make a difference, but it's fun to pretend that you are telling your squatter to get out!Grin

BlueC2 · 11/07/2014 20:51

zing totally with you on the weird evening cramps! Tis the story of my week! And very frustrating it's getting too, especially after it seemed all systems go on Monday morning... Grrrr! Have had several quiet words, and several more firm words with bean - I just get kicked in response :) when I booked my MW app for tomorrow I was quietly confident I'd be cancelling it like I had to with DS as he'd arrived by then... Looking unlikely this time! And if the heartburn could disappear that would greatly bless me right now!!

LucyB1 · 11/07/2014 20:54

Agree about evening cramps and she won't stop dancing about. Assume this means she's not on her way then if they go quiet before coming out.

ismarah · 11/07/2014 20:57

Went to Tesco. Parked in the parent / child bays. Bought diapers in bulk. This thing is getting really real...

BlueC2 · 11/07/2014 21:13

lucy don't think they always go quiet. My bean been quiet for ages today ( to extent I was thinking I should go and get checked) but now kicking my insides relentlessly!!

ismarah crazy how many nappies they go through at the beginning!! Enjoy the convenience of the parent spaces :)

GrouchyKiwi · 11/07/2014 21:19

Lucy My DD seemed to get more active because she hated the contractions. There's nothing quite so sore as being pummelled internally while your body's trying to squeeze out the little darling.

Based on current evidence, this one will be the same.

elliejjtiny · 11/07/2014 22:12

zing I'm with you on the baby clothes sorting. I'm happy with DS5 being my last but the thought of getting rid of the baby clothes or them being all grown up makes me want to cry. I think I'm going to end up collecting those reborn dolls!

Can't remember who asked but I find contractions feel like the cramps you get with an awful tummy bug.

DS5 had his neonatal follow up with the consultant today. He is now 7lb 12oz which is good and apart from mild low muscle tone he is doing fine. Really pleased with that. Walked out of the children's unit feeling really positive.

Plateofcrumbs · 11/07/2014 22:18

ellie good to hear your little boy is doing well.

Things I learnt today: the instinct to turn sideways when passing someone in a narrow corridor is largely futile at this point.

AuntieMaggie · 11/07/2014 22:26

Glad the follow up went well ellie

I'm still here battling on with breastfeeding and so on. DS is doing really well apparently and is now 2 weeks old. Where the he'll did the last two weeks go? At the time it all felt traumatic and drawn out but now it seems to have gone so quickly!

NancyinCali · 11/07/2014 22:41

Just marking my place and will catch up later. DD is napping after a busy morning at the kids' museum and lunch at DH's work so time for me to chill out!

lemonpoppyseed · 11/07/2014 22:52

Last thread, perhaps?! Marking my place!

mummytobejuly2014 · 11/07/2014 23:39

looks like everyone is keeping busy. today is due date and its almost over with no symptoms. had hot indian for dinner, bounced on ball most of day, dtd, long walk doing grocery shop & nothing :(
hoping little man doesnt arrive til 13th or later now

NancyinCali · 12/07/2014 00:06

It's my birthday tomorrow so a good day for babies to be born I think Grin Not mine yet though please!

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 00:48

Slept for a couple of hours but now wide awake again :( got the period like tightenings again...come on baby, it's officially your due date now so let's get this party started shall we? Mummy happy to offer lots of snuggly cuddles and milk on tap so what's not to like? I know it won't be quite the same as having food 24/7 with no effort from you but you'll be able to stretch out fully, no getting stuck on the inside of mummy and well, basically it's just much much nicer out here for you :)

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 01:41

Grrrr...still awake and now baby in some ridiculously awkward painful position so I can't get comfortable!! Oh and the heartburn continues... Sorry for me me me post, just want to go to sleep or labour to start!!

Well ladies I had a gorgeous baby boy- Theo Joshua born at 11.38pm on Friday. Ended up being induced with drip, epidural and then final push didn't go so well nearly 2h and ended up with vontouse. ..anyway stitched up and both dh and theo are asleep! No space on post natal ward so still in delivery room hence dh staying. Theo has one very loud cry, had a go with breastfeeding fingers crossed more success tomorrow! Hope everyone else is well- Nancy happy birthday Cake Flowers and more Cake

Will reply to others after I've had any sleep! Can't put Theo down!

Collie1806 · 12/07/2014 06:30

ickle huge congratulations!

moresnow I definitely don't feel movements as much these days; think I'm just so used to them now. Sometimes Dh can feel him moving and I can't feel anything at all! Very odd

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 12/07/2014 08:02

Yay ickle. Hello Theo! Lovely name.

Sorry the birth was difficult, hope you're recovering and resting ok.

Happy birthday nancy.

Feeding DS (again) after a long third night, he just didn't even want to go in the cosleeping cot but wanted to be fed or held until about 4am! We all got some sleep eventually though. Community midwife didn't c

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 12/07/2014 08:05

Community midwife didn't come yesterday which was a bit annoying as she/he should now come today when DS is getting his first visits from his aunties and uncles. Oh well. We have a tiny flat so will just have to ask the visitors to move to a nearby cafe if she comes while they're here.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 12/07/2014 08:07

Oh and sorry that baby is still not making an appearance blue. DS says to say that it's all a bit scary and confusing out here but much more interesting, plus milk! So hurry up and come out :)

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 08:36

Morning all, firstly huge congrats to ickle sorry about birth being tough but so glad little man there safely-hope you're not too sore.

its I've relayed the message to bean :) due date today too so hoping bean follows these other punctual babies!

moresnow I was awake 12-3.30ish :( also getting less movement here and nearly went to get checked yesterday then bean went on the rampage and wriggled/kicked for ages. DS always says 'I fine' if we ask if he's ok and I think bean was saying the same!

MW due for 40 week app today and I think will offer a sweep - just don't know whether to have it or wait?? Anyone any experience or thoughts? I hate internal exams so v aware it could be unpleasant!

Incapinka · 12/07/2014 08:44

Morning blue. Am having the same as you with reduced movement and then massive wriggles. So easy to get paranoid especially this late in the pregnancy.

Personally if MW happy to give you a sweep then go for it. My first was a bit squirmy with DS, not painful as such but uncomfortable and did bring on some period pains which then died down again. I had a second one 2 days later and this time no real discomfort or period pains but my waters popped 6 hours later. This time round they won't give me one until Tuesday (my EDD but 6 days over in their eyes) so will see what happens...

ZingGoesPop · 12/07/2014 08:44

ickle

massive congratulations on safe arrival of Theo Joshua (lovely names)! yay! Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks
you did well!

I had forceps with DS1, sympathies for ventouse.
if you have a lot of stitches hold off walking in Tesco for 2 hours...
use a few drops of tea tree oil in say 4 inches of warm water in bath to take care of stitches (that goes for everyone btw).

so happy for you. well done!Smile
