Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

And congratulations Ickle. Lovely names.

And agree with zing. Tea tree oil is fab in a warm bath. As is lavender oil. They make grazes and stitches feel so much better!

ZingGoesPop · 12/07/2014 08:48

Nancy

Happy Birthday!

ellie
nothing creepier than those reborn dolls, please don't go down that route!Grin
Something alive is way healthier. even a goldfish!Wink
When I'm broody next year we'll get some chickens.

how's baby doing? (sorry, forgot his name)
and you? how's life with 5?

GrouchyKiwi · 12/07/2014 09:28

Congratulations, ickle. What a lovely name. Hope you and little one are recovering well.

Happy birthday, Nancy. Hope you have a lovely day and baby doesn't make an appearance. Grin

Friends' wedding today. DD slept till 9am (as did we all) but is now screaming in the hallway. Ah well, Saturday is Daddy's Day so I can kick back and let him handle it.

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 09:57

Thanks inca think I'm erring on letting the MW have a rummage and advise whether she thinks it's looking favourable for a sweep and if so then go for it. If not them I'll hold off for the moment. Feel bad getting so impatient for baby when not officially overdue til tomorrow, just think since I had the vertigo (which I thought might be something more serious) at 36 weeks I've kinda been ready since then, so already feels as though I've been waiting impatiently for 4 weeks!!

Ooh, and happy birthday to nancy hope you have a lovely labour free day!!

kiwi a wedding sounds the perfect time to go into labour... ;)

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 12/07/2014 10:10

Wow have had to catch up on so much! Have been deprived of mumsnet all week Sad, how on earth are other new mums managing to get on and comment I'll never know.

We are doing well although am knackered from visits and spend a lot of time bickering with DH over trivial things (mainly his squeally family constantly calling and wanting updates, my family are doing it right and leaving us be in case we are sleeping). Registered the birth yesterday so she officially exists.

Congratulations to all new arrivals, comiserations to all overdue deliveries. Hoping things get moving soon (or not in zings case Grin)

ismarah · 12/07/2014 10:41

Congratulations Ickle and welcome baby Theo!

Happy birthday Nancy too!

My parents arrive today.

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 14:17

Right, MW just left. Was so funny I was busy tucking into a huge portion of pineapple when she arrived :) She said baby's head v v low from what she could feel from bump but then did an internal examination and could actually feel baby's head Shock confirming my feeling of lead bowling ball between my legs!! She didn't do a sweep but said cervix felt soft and she couldn't feel evidence of the plug so maybe I did loose it last Friday, or have just missed it with my frequent trips to the loo this past week!! Soooo, hopeful that just the disturbance of the internal exam will have had an impact and that things kick off later today/tomorrow, she confirmed again that she thinks it'll happen pretty quickly once it gets going. If nothing happens all week then I'm booked in for a sweep next Saturday at 41 weeks.

ismarah hope all goes well with your parents' arrival

liquid sorry we're such chatter boxes! Hope all is well with you and little one...

Right, off to bounce on my ball while DS asleep!

ZingGoesPop · 12/07/2014 16:01

liquid

don't quarrel with DH, I have a better solution - unplug landlines, switch off mobiles when you have a nap.
I also take out batteries from door bell.

just tell him that you are not available and should not be disturbed.

if he still doesn't get that your sleep and low stress levels are way more important than nosy relatives bothering you I will have a word with him.
Wink

ZingGoesPop · 12/07/2014 16:02

blue

that sounds like your last post before going into labour! Grin

shall we hope my incling is correct?
good luck and stop nicking bowling balls!Grin

Collie1806 · 12/07/2014 17:53

Made it to 41 weeks with stretchmarks just on my hips. Today we took the "weekly bump update" photo and they have erupted on my belly overnight!

Feel like such a drama queen but I'm devastated, I thought I had escaped relatively unscathed!!

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 18:38

zing :) we'll see whether I've got a punctual 'like to be on time/due date' baby or whether it's just too comfy in there (though can't imagine it's too comfy with it's head wedged down where it is!)

collie I suddenly developed a load of new ones at 37weeks due to baby sticking it's foot out the side of my bump and was equally unimpressed!

So (potential) early labour with more regular tightenings starting looks rather different to the same period with DS now that he's a toddler- with DS the house was calm and quiet, I had the blinds shut and just quietly breathed through each pain. This time DS is hurtling around the living room at high speed and then wanting me to push him on his trike- so there I am sat on my ball pushing him back and forth on his trike but also wearing his mini Bosch hard hat that he insists I wear whilst pushing him - LOL could not be more different!! Really hoping it all ramps up and happens overnight whilst he's asleep upstairs so we don't need to fuss with childcare.

Hope everyone else doing ok?

Collie1806 · 12/07/2014 19:06

blue think mine are from an elbow sticking out a lot!
Hope baby comes soon for you Grin

mupperoon · 12/07/2014 19:51

Congrats ickle and little Theo!

Blue sounds like proper progress, very exciting, surely can't be long now!

Nancy Happy birthday!

I was on the verge of a trip to triage today as ninja was very quiet this morning. It started kicking/hiccuping again after a couple of hours, just with less gusto than normal, and the amount of pressure on my nether regions has escalated - now doing about 3 mwph (3 micro-wees per hour) and rising. Only really comfortable lying down, but trying to stay vertical during the day.

I am not aware of having any BH but have been feeling very strange in the late afternoon/evening - like a grumbling sensation all over my bump and lower belly and also a weird feeling in my chest and head, which comes and goes. My belly doesn't get any tighter which I thought was classic BH?

Still only 37+4 so could be weeks of this purgatory yet!

BlueC2 · 12/07/2014 20:07

DH driving me loopy! It's like he's gone into shutdown mode! We've not had a busy day and he's had a chance to rest (well, not sleep all afternoon but at least sit quietly and not have to deal with DS). He'd offered to cook and, yes, I did get a big impatient cos he was running late and I was hungry and also wanted to get DS fed bathed and in bed in case things started to ramp up labour wise, so DH got a bit stressed finishing dinner. But now that DS is down to sleep he's walking around like a zombie and won't talk to me!! To the extent that I asked him what time the football started and he said he didn't know!! V v odd! Don't know whether it's the stress of the are we/aren't we of this week getting to him but I sure need him to wake up and perk up if we are having this baby tonight!!! I'm sure he will be fine but a little glimpse of that now would really help!

Sorry for the moan, just not sure what to do with him right now... I would just go and hide upstairs but it's way too hot up there! At this rate I can see me starting to fill the pool and doing the final set up for birth before even waking him (if he's gone to bed by then!). All fun eh?! Just hope he snaps out of it v v soon!!

On a lighter note, mupperoon I love the mwph description :)

MrsA2 · 12/07/2014 20:09

Congratulations Ickle, lovely name too.

Blue that does sound very promising - given you've already had contractions and things look favourable, hopefully tonight might be the night.

I'm so impressed by all of you managing toddlers as well as late pregnancy/newborns.

Still nothing happening here so off to the hospital first thing tomorrow for the pessary (tampon one). All being well I should then be able to come home until either things get started or I go back 24 hours later for the full induction process (waters breaking and the drip). Really gutted as had so hoped to avoid induction but it doesn't look like it's meant to be.

Not really sure what to do about hospital bags, I have them both (mine and baby) in the car but think I'll take mine in straight away even though it'd be overkill if it is as simple as pessary in, half hour monitoring, go home. I'm imagining that they'll be running late so I'll want things to read/eat.

ZingGoesPop · 12/07/2014 21:52

collie

I feel for you.
had similar with DS1. nothing at 37 weeks, a few days later purple lines all overSad
I was devastated.

bio oil is supposed to help.
I never bothered though...

fifi669 · 12/07/2014 23:05

Haven't caught up with the thread yet, looks like some others have had their babies?

I can't help but think mine is a little bit perfect :)

Poor DP has had me snapping at him. A cross between pain from section/tiredness and him actually being a bit useless.

Baby is finally latching on better. We had a bit where he fart assed about licking nipple rather than sucking and he lost 9.2% of his weight but he's putting on again now :)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 12/07/2014 23:08

Thanks for the tea tree oil in bath recommendation zing, blue and anyone I missed. I got about 5 minutes free this evening before DS demanded another feed to try it out and I think it had a good effect on my stitches. Still feel very sore but thst's only to be expected I guess. Also day 3 hormones kicking in big time - very weepy this evening.

Today has been a busy one. DS fed until 4am this morning then woke up at 8am for a very long feed before visitors came at 10.30, the longer feeds seem to give us some actual time to sleep/shower/eat between them which is good. DS thoroughly spoilt by his visitors and my brother and sister in law brought us amazing stinky cheese as they knew how much I missed it in pregnancy!

Unfortunately there still seems to be a breakdown in communication between the hospital and the community midwife team and despite phoning to chase several times, we're now at the end of our second day at home without a visit. I spoke to the actual midwife at the end of her shift and she was really apologetic and said to call first thing tomorrow and we should be seen first! I really hope so as I think DS is looking a bit jaundiced and I also really want someone to check our latch as although the number of dirty nappies suggest he's getting enough milk, it is fairly sore on my nipples! Think we've not quite got it right.

Time to grab some sleep before he wants another feed!

(Sorry for the me me me post - hope all's well with everyone)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 12/07/2014 23:09

Oh and fifi he's gorgeous! :)

elliejjtiny · 12/07/2014 23:19

zing I have to agree with you about the reborn dolls but the 1 year broodiness may drive me to extreme measures Grin.

Zechariah is doing ok thanks, although feeding way too much according to my mum (so glad she lives a long way away!) Having 5 is completely mad. Tried to do some housework today, took me all day to put 2 loads of washing on and wipe the kitchen worktops in between feeding. I'm worried as DH is going back to work on Monday. FIL is coming to "help" but he's already said that he's there for lifting, chauffeuring and school runs only, he's not doing cleaning, food, nappies etc. DS4's occupational therapist is coming round on Monday too, eek. Don't know how you do it with nearly 7. I'm quite looking forward to the summer holidays though. I've got a massive swing/slide thing coming and I plan to only leave the house/garden when DH is home from work!

mummytobejuly2014 · 12/07/2014 23:34

lots of low down stabby pains the last hour or so. pubic bone been very achey last couple of days. hoping maybe the beginning of something. bladder feels alot more squashed than before/feels like something has changed...

NancyinCali · 12/07/2014 23:43

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Birthdays aren't quite the same when 38 weeks pregnant with a toddler Smile. Still nice though. A friend is babysitting tonight so heading out with DH on our own for the last time before baby.

Hoping to hear baby Blue news soon!

BlueC2 · 13/07/2014 00:29

Wondering if my pain threshold has increased or if pain not yet ramped up enough?! Currently at 4-5min frequency with 1.5min duration so getting there! We're all set up (again) and DS fast asleep. As is DH (on the sofa) but we've made up after a few v tense conversations so feeling lot happier than I was earlier.

Nancy have fun tonight
its hope MW finally visits tomorrow-that's awful they've not been yet. Enjoy your cheese too ;)
fifi gorgeous little man :)
mummytobe hope you get some movement soon
Inca hope all goes well with IM tomorrow

MW told me to try and sleep so guess I should give that a whirl. Next post hopefully to announce a new arrival :)

Ipsumlorem · 13/07/2014 01:21

blue all sounds promising! I was due today too - have had cramps last couple of days but nothing major seemed to be happening despite bowling ball feeling in lady parts!

Walked loads today in an effort to kick things off and even managed to dtd with dh earlier Blush which I think may have worked. Im currently having painful contractions lasting about 1m every 3ish mins. I can still talk through them etc so I reckon too early to call hospital and worried they will disappear! However they are bloody uncomfortable!

fx I will get to meet baby soon!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 13/07/2014 01:35

Ooh, good luck ipsum and blue!
