Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

pains are every 15mins now. no chance of snoozing unless anyone has any tips for positions? lying on left side is becoming uncomfortable so propped sitting up at mo with lots of pillows. wondering how long til things speed up. have taken paracetomol to take the edge off also

BlueC2 · 14/07/2014 05:16

MW just been, progress slow (one chilled out, no need to hurry baby here!) but MW reckons it should be today!! Woohoo!! Finally! Only just managing to breathe through the strongest contractions now and will be a while before I can have g&a or get in the pool... This could be fun!

BlueC2 · 14/07/2014 05:18

Ps mummy i hardly slept sat night and haven't had a wink of sleep tonight yet! once the pain ramps up sleep is pretty impossible regardless of position unfortunately :(

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 14/07/2014 05:34

Whoo-hoo! Go blue!

icklekid · 14/07/2014 06:04

Good work blue how exciting, hope you have enough energy with so little sleep!! Be thinking of you anyway

Plateofcrumbs · 14/07/2014 06:09

Congratulations mrsA - I must say there are some truly impressive commitments to post-birth mumsnet updates (we expect no less of course!).

Mummy hope all goes well today and c'mon Baby Blue it's time to show your face!

It's all very exciting!

After having had a big weekend of organisation I'm starting to feel a bit more ready for this to happen. Still don't think it is imminent - one week til due date and would be v surprised if it kicks off any earlier. Having a scan today to confirm it is still head-down as it is eluding the midwives' prodding.

NancyinCali · 14/07/2014 06:42

Oooooh blue sounds exciting!

The breast feeding line sounds great its. I should look up a similar service here as I was terrible about asking for help last time and just muddled through until it got easier.

The sewing/nesting bug hit me tonight and I've made myself a kimono-style jacket/cardigan for flinging over a vest top & shorts and a longer version to use as a dressing gown for when I'm in hospital and at home when I can't be bothered to get dressed. I'll possibly take photos in the morning if I can. Should probably go to bed now as 10.40pm. Or I could sew more...I wonder if DD would wear a mini one?!

Plateofcrumbs · 14/07/2014 07:56

Oooh nancy would love to see your sewing for inspiration!

Jam making and cushion covers for me today. Finding the extent to which I'm enjoying being at home quite alarming, not missing work in the slightest!

GrouchyKiwi · 14/07/2014 08:56

Congratulations, MrsA! Sounds very quick. Hope you had a good sleep and are feeling better today. Enjoy your little one.

Hope all is going well, mummy and blue.

Jealous of all you crafty people and your skills. Please do share photos; might encourage me to get on with the baby blanket I'm knitting.

mupperoon · 14/07/2014 09:14

MrsA Congratulations!

Blue and mummy Good luck, keep breathing!

Nancy my sister has been making kimonos for our upcoming babies, and her 3 year old boy wanted one as soon as he saw them. The newborn ones are hypercute and I'd love an adult version but I don't really feel I can ask her to make one as she's due today... Smile

KitKatChick · 14/07/2014 14:52

It's all going on here! Congratulations MrsA and everyone else I missed in the meantime. I do tend to check the facebook group a bit more...

Is anybody else still at work? I go between regretting staying on so close to due date and being quite grateful for not having time to over examine any twinges and other potential early labour symptoms.

My DH has taken a lot longer to realise that babies don't just come on their due date and had no sense of urgency of getting certain jobs finished until last week. It's actually quite funny watching him panic now as I pretty much resigned myself to that fact that some things just won't be done.

mummytobejuly2014 · 14/07/2014 16:37

delivery suite told me to come in for a check as i couldnt tell if i was leaking waters or not. 3 opinions later they dont know either

mummytobejuly2014 · 14/07/2014 16:41

posted too soon. so i came up at half 11 & they kept me :(
said they couldnt risk sending me home incase they had began to leak. said they would re-assess in morn & poss start induction. of course pains died down in frequency & after internals was told that cervix is not dilated & is very far back. seems all this pain is for nothing. pains back up to every 10mins now OH has gone home.
just so fed up.
blue hope you're getting on better than me

osinachi · 14/07/2014 17:15

Good luck and God's blessings on those in labour today. Massive congratulations to all who have already had their babies. It's all happening now gosh!!!
First day of maternity leave today. Due next week. Not missing work at all. Still have a list of things I need to do topmost being my hair and lady garden, both are in a right state . :)
Looking forward to baby being good and coming latest next weekend(she says without holding her breath)' Well all the best everyone thanks to those who updated on their delivery experiences and bf. Very helpful information.

Incapinka · 14/07/2014 18:06

Oh mummytobe that all sounds rubbish. It will all be worth it in the end but it is so frustrating and upsetting this stage when you are just hoping that everything is happening only to find out that it isn't. Really feeling for you.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok. Gave a riding lesson this morning and then been shattered for the rest of the day and hardly able to walk due to blasted pelvic and leg pain. Really hoping that goes away when the baby finally decides to make an arrival. Am trying to enjoy my last week being pregnant as don't want to go through this again!! (Even though I know it will all be worth it...!)

justhayley · 14/07/2014 23:48

Congratulations MrsA.

How you getting on Blue? Hope things are moving well and you'v had your baby and posted by the time I wake up around 4/5am Smile

I managed to get my tap adapters - FINALLY! So they are in the taps and ready to go.
Finished the final touches in birthing room today - well put up new floor lamp lol. Was just bouncing on my ball in there for about 45 mins. It's really calming now can't wait to deliver baby at home. (Only thinking of that option).

Sorted things out with DP last night, he's still not 100% forgiven but think I got through to him about how rubbish he's been and just exactly his much I needed his help & was let down.

Had about 5/6 what I thought were contractions about 5pm tonight. Got all excited but then nothing since.
Feeling a bit sick tonight although that could be the big slice of chocolate cake iv eaten Apart from that I'm the same.

Think I have a new craving to add to my strange list of wet wood, timber, saw dust, dirt etc ....... It's bleach! Can't get enough of it my kitchen & bathroom smell like a public swimming pool, if I could poor it on my shed and lick it off if be a very happy lady. What the hell is wrong with me, why can't I crave something I can actually eat like cheese sandwiches!

Anyway off to sleep, good Luck Blue thinking if you hold you get your honebirth tonight Thanks

blue hope to hear some good news from you soon Grin

Officially 10 days overdue now. Spent the last couple

Collie1806 · 15/07/2014 00:18

Oops accidental post there;
Spent the last couple of weeks wishing baby would make an appearance and now I've decided that our bedroom must be decorated before he arrives. Spontaneous trip to b&q today and hoping he hangs on in there tomorrow while we go to ikea for new bedroom furniture.

We decorated around 6 months ago, I think I've finally gone crazy with the pregnancy hormones Wink

BlueC2 · 15/07/2014 00:33

Been tough getting to this point and today no exception. Homebirth MWs been amazing but no dilation from 4am-10am this morning and then only one further cm by 2.30pm despite mega contractions I was starting to lose the plot (with no pain relief) by 7pm but thankfully at 8pm I was 7cm and finally allowed gas + air and to get in the pool! The relief of getting into the pool was utterly fabulous as was finally getting my hands on the gas and air- they said I could have it to get back downstairs after the internal exam and despite being 7cm I practically ran down the stairs to the pool :)

Phoebe arrived after just an hour in the pool and only 3 pushes but much more ordered a delivery resulting in one minor tear (no stitches) unlike her brother who flew out like an unguided missile 2 years ago and nearly caused 3rd degree tear :)

Feeding going well so far in fact she fed for nearly an hour before she was weighed!

mummy so sorry you've got the stop start too!

Hayley yeah for tap adapters!! I must say a HB was the best decision I made. And a lovely job for your DP post birth (which he deserves!) is fishing out all the post birth debris from the pool with a sieve before emptying it Grin bless my DH has been a superstar today.

Right, I should try and sleep...

icklekid · 15/07/2014 01:53

2 amazing pieces of news

blue CONGRATULATIONS!!! So over the moon for yoi although 3 pushes Hmm try 2 hours at the end of exhausting labour!

hayley I am equally as excited for you and those tap adapters! Looking forward to hearing stories of your transformed dp!!!

collie have fun painting and decorating!

My little man cluster fed 9pm-12.30 when I told dh he needed to try and settle him (left formula out just in case!) Go back at 1.30 one upset baby- I take him and he falls asleep! Not risking putting him in moses basket as he will no doubt wake up so he is lying on me whilst I enjoy cuddles/staring at him and pass the time on mums net!

BlueC2 · 15/07/2014 02:29

Waves at ickle the 3 pushes made up for the week of on/off labour and MW making me get to 7cm with no pain relief except a few paracetamol!! I think being in the pool helped too!

Just had a rude awakening-literally! Had forgotten just how loud newborn cries are so got quite a shock as I'd just fallen asleep! More milk please Mummy! This little lady has already fed SO much I've a feeling she's gone through all the colostrum as can hear her swallowing great gulps Hmm :) Now fast asleep on me though so here begins take 3 of gentle winding and then into Moses basket-wonder how long it will last this time?!

Plateofcrumbs · 15/07/2014 02:51

Congratulations Blue - finally!!! Smile

icklekid · 15/07/2014 03:02

blue any top tips for babies staying asleep in moses baskets? Ee have my pillowcase for scent, used heat pad to warm before placing in, rolled up towel at side so not so big...

Have tried feed, wind then in and ensure fast asleep (30mins+) then placing in...all lead to screaming at night. Better in the day but still...

Looks up safer co sleeping guidance...

BlueC2 · 15/07/2014 03:24

I'm still laid here with her snuggled on me Blush as haven't tried again yet. From memory with DS it did take a while to crack it but swaddling helped!
