Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

Ohhh ipsum good luck to you too!

I knew an India so like the name however I'm not sure about it with your surname inca

Howly · 17/07/2014 17:01

Inca my friends little girl is Indigo or Indie for short, that would work with your surname!

NancyinCali · 17/07/2014 17:26

Ooooh live birth thread! Very exciting Grin.

Stressful morning here. DH had to go to work early (for a 6am meeting!!) so I had to do the daycare run. Just as I was getting DD ready she started gagging and her lips went really pale! Was fine seconds later but wanted cuddles. 10 mins later full of beans and playing on my phone with an Elmo app as I was talking to a nurse to see if she needed to be seen. They weren't concerned at all and as she was fine I've taken her to daycare. Just snot apparently as she's had a cold. I do tend to panic a bit with medical stuff especially with hormones mixed in too!

Plateofcrumbs · 17/07/2014 17:31

inca I like both of those names - I think I prefer India but it's a bit jarring with your surname I'm not sure it's a deal-breaker though.

mupperoon I've got a box like that which also has 14 years of crap we couldn't part with treasures. Not sure my emotional state could take sorting through it right now though, you're braver than me!

GrouchyKiwi · 17/07/2014 17:52

All the best, ipsum. Hope things get going for you.

Nancy That kind of scare is the last thing you need. Glad all is well.

AuntieMaggie · 17/07/2014 19:26

OBEM is interesting for me now as most of the mws on there were involved with me at some point or other (I told dp that they've all either seen/had their hands on my boobs or ladybits) but glad I didn't watch it beforehand!

Ipsumlorem · 17/07/2014 21:27

Im back from the hospital - need to have bp monitored again tomorrow but she let me come home as no other signs of anything untoward Smile

I had my sweep and was apparently 3cms dilated already and soft and stretchy - she was able to touch babys head so all the cramps and contractions mustve been doing something for the last week after all Smile

Got induction booked for next week but she said she thinks i will maybe go before then even if sweep doesnt work as baby is so low so fingers crossed. Quite crampy again now - went for a short walk to hopefully help get things moving!

icklekid · 17/07/2014 22:12

Another 2 hours crying to get to sleep tonight.

So thought I would try breast shields today as nipples painful and need a break...they def decrease pain however normally theo falls asleep after a feed and both times used today he looks sleepy but stays awake...is that because he has to work harder on the breast? If so will use sparingly and am only!!!

Great news inca off to check zing thread.,,

icklekid · 17/07/2014 22:20

Sorry ipsum great news!

Plateofcrumbs · 18/07/2014 01:10

Good luck ipsum hope things get moving for you now!

Have we heard from hayley recently?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/07/2014 03:24

zing's thread got exciting.

Has been a while since we've heard from Hayley. Hope magnificent things have happened.

Think I'm in early labour now. Can put a little tick beside all the signs in my pregnancy book. Waking up every hour or so but can't work out what's going on because my back's always sore when I'm in bed at the moment. Have got up to use computer for a bit and see what's what.

No regular contractions as yet but plenty of irregular ones. Will be properly pissed off grumpy if it all dies down overnight. Maybe that's why I'm waking so often. Usually sleep fairly well.

icklekid · 18/07/2014 04:21

Fingers crossed kiwi late night walk? March up and down stairs? Bounce on that ball to some funky disco music? Full of suggestions me!

Anyone any nipple shield experience? So much less pain but could it mean baby works less hard so doesn't fall asleep?

justhayley · 18/07/2014 04:34

Hits,
Thanks for asking after me. Still hear still pregnant Hmm
Just posted but it's vanished and I'm falling asleep so will catch up properly tomorrow.
Good luck inca & Zing get those babies out Smile

Oh joy, our car has a flat tyre. Why now? At least DH spotted it now (could easily have not noticed as we don't use it on a daily basis), rather than when we were making a hospital dash.

icklekid · 18/07/2014 08:32

Thanks moresnow so far just midwife as can't get out to breastfeeding support- hoping to next week. Think latch is generally good now just damage done to nipple learning that causing pain!

Fingers crossed for hayley

plate at least you spotted it and can sort!

mupperoon · 18/07/2014 10:49

Glad you're OK hayley! What's happened to mummytobe?

Inca I do think that India + your last name sounds a bit like a twinning association... sorry! But I thought the suggestion of Indigo from howly was lovely and gives you the same diminutive.

My little sis gave birth last night to a lovely pink little girl, her second child. I am now really, REALLY impatient! And hot. And huge. This waiting is hell!

Got to somehow get up the gumption to go to Tesco and buy a few dozen Soleros some healthy salad materials.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 18/07/2014 15:14

Just to say thinking of everyone who's pregnant in this heat! Breastfeeding is bad enough, it's like having a tiny hot water bottle across my chest. A cute tiny hot water bottle but even so...

TheBookofRuth · 18/07/2014 15:33

DS swallowed meconium during birth, so we've been kept in since whilst they run blood tests and give him anti-biotics.

Just been told that the blood tests have shown signs of an infection so we're likely to be kept in for a further 5-7 days for more treatment.

Trying very hard to stay positive but it's hard - partly because my baby boy is poorly, partly because I'm missing my two year old DD like mad and want to get home to her. She's coped brilliantly so far but I worry about what the separation will do to our bond and how it could affect her feelings for her little brother.

I just want to be at home with my little family

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 18/07/2014 17:05

That must be really tough Ruth - sorry that your little boy isn't well. Is your DD able to visit you in hospital?

mummytobejuly2014 · 18/07/2014 17:12

apologies for radio silence. exhausted from lack of sleep since saturday night.
little man has arrived on wed morning at 04:47 at a whopping 8lb 14oz. no name as yet :s
will have to read back thread & catch up.

KitKatChick · 18/07/2014 17:23

Congrats mummy!

Has anyone signed up for the John Lewis free gift when you register your baby's birth with them? www.johnlewis.com/myjohnlewisnursery/news. Just wondering what you get and if it is worth doing?

icklekid · 18/07/2014 18:12

Congratulations mummy!

Thinking of you ruth

kitkat who knows anything is good though so I've signed up!

BlueC2 · 18/07/2014 18:24

Congrats mummy :)

Ruth that is v tough :( hoping your little man better very soon!

moresnow the MW has diagnosed TT but it's not a formal diagnosis yet- have got a referral through the BF counsellor today though so should get official review next week. In the meantime DD and I are persisting as best as we can focusing on latch! Only snag is that she wants to feed every hour during the day (will thankfully go a bit longer at night) but my poor poor nipples are in bits-each feed is agonising :( and DS getting bit fed up that all Mummy seems to do is feed DD! 5 day check tomorrow though so will see how she's doing in terms of weight gain. Hilarious moment last night though when I used DS to help relieve my engorgement at bedtime feed- let down so powerful it gave him hiccups and when he'd finished he had milk running from side of his mouth and a big grin on his face-someone enjoying the extra milk :)
