Aww buggerlugs that's so nice! I had one with my second and they are amazing. We are going to Spain next year in May, my first holiday with four am a bit scared!! We will take up a whole row on the plane! So desperate to get away though not had a holiday since last year and we usually try and get away at every opportunity.
Hope everyone is feeling ok, it's really humid here today just started to rain, which I'm actually relieved about!

Bumpforme2014 · 12/07/2014 19:07

Ah lugs that's lovely, my little girl just looked like a baby I didn't see any resemblance, her face was also hidden by placenta a few times.

Has anyone thought about baby monitors yet? We want a video one and I'm thinking Motorola MBP36, any recommendations from anyone?

cabster · 12/07/2014 20:46

Never used a monitor with DD! Old house had walls like paper, could hear every snuffle without one

fedupofrainydays · 12/07/2014 21:47

bugs ahh glad you had a good look at buglet! I've always been out off by the 3/4d scans as seem pics of others and thought looked weird but it's probably not when on the screen (ie not pics!). Glad you enjoyed it Grin

Catching up on OBEM and I see what you mean about THAT birthing outfit!! Ha ha! It was ridiculous and what weird random white ties. Oh well, whatever floats your boat!

ExcitedCJ · 12/07/2014 22:36

Fedup my kaftan birthing outfit will be with me by Wed, I'll post a pic if I get a chance. No random ties on mine, more is the pity! :)

fedupofrainydays · 12/07/2014 22:53

Intrigued cj does it have cocktail glasses on too?!

Had quite bad stomach and back cramps last two days and generally struggling a lot - out of breath, tired, aching. Can't believe I'm only just entering third trimester. And also feel stressed about this one coming early. Hang in there please for at least another 10 weeks.

ExcitedCJ · 12/07/2014 23:35

I posted it on last thread but here it is again -

No cocktail glasses I'm afraid!
Fedup my heartburn kicked in yesterday, had extreme need for gaviscon all day, that and noxious wind are my current issues (sorry TMI!)

weeonion · 13/07/2014 00:34

excited - i followed your link from last time you posted and have ordered 2 kaftans! frustrated they takeup to 4 weeks to arrive but hey.. i think the stuff looks great1

ExcitedCJ · 13/07/2014 00:59

onion might not take that long, I ordered mine on 5th July & DHL attempted delivery on 11th. Have rearranged delivery for next week Wed as I am away for couple of days.

ExcitedCJ · 13/07/2014 08:38

I'm going crazy. I'm so impatient to meet my baby & I need something to distract me so I am obsessing over baby carriers right now!
I'm not sure if I would like to get the Boba 4G as it looks really easy to carry newborns or whether just to go for the Lillebaby carrier, which I'm thinking of getting in preference to the new Ergo 360! I was obsessed about getting the 'right' buggy last time & now it seems to be baby carriers. I drive myself nuts!
In other news.. I slept through the night apart from a leg cramp at 6am! :)

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2014 13:40

I slept through too til 6 with leg cramp waking me up at 6. Ds had a lie in til 7.10 which was nice as could just mooch in bed til then.

Well I have gone for ergo 360 so I better like it! Tried on it feels v comfy and might borrow a friends 4 month old to test it out for real!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 13/07/2014 15:04

Yey so happy to hear your planning on carrying fedup & excited! I carried DS from birth until getting pregnant & i think it was the best parenting decision i ever made. Haven't had much experience with buckles but love my mei tai & the wrap when he was tiny. One of the main things i am looking forward to is squishy newborn sling cuddles Smile Smile

ExcitedCJ · 13/07/2014 15:38

Jelly I'm obsessed! I used a Moby wrap & an Ergo last time & I want to get the perfect new born carrier this time. I liked carrying DD but didn't LOVE it & I really want to love it this time! It's much easier than a buggy, much more comforting for baby & much more relaxing for parent, great for connection, confidence etc.
I couldn't get the Moby wrap to work for me, so much blooming fabric, that's why I'm looking at SSC. Any suggestions are welcome.

mum2kiss · 13/07/2014 16:16

My friend has sent me her old ergo from the states. When it arrived one of the clasps for the chest strap was missing and she hadn't realised. I looked online for a replacement but they don't sell them here so I contacted ergo and explained the situation. They sent me a brand new complete chest strap for free! Looking forward to using it with baby. All I need to get is a newborn insert which are about £20 and we're good to go! A

Kirstipops · 13/07/2014 16:44

I have two Victoria slinglady wraps to use and we'll get some kind of carrier too for when baby's a little older and DH can have a go :) I do like the look of the Ergo360 as well, it's the front runner at the mo.
I went to bed about 12.30 last night and slept til 7ish, my back was killing me but ohhh how good to sleep all that way through!!
BBQ dinner tonight after spending the afternoon shopping for garden stuff, love summery days like this!

HopefulHamster · 13/07/2014 16:58

Oh don't start me on baby carriers, I love them!

I have about 8 left over from my son and have just bought a second stretchy wrap (like Moby, think it might be a Boba one) and a Manduca ssc.

The Manduca you can apparently use from birth as it has a newborn insert thingy.

Last time I started off with an Ellaroo mei tai but it was a bit hard to position so fancied something else. Then I had a Yamo ssc which is good for small babies until about four months or so - don't think they make them any more. Then I had some random cheap mei tais, an Ocah one, an Ergo for DH, an Olives and Applesauce ssc (which was great up to about 18 months), and another I can't quite recall.

I seem to get on better with sscs and mei tais than wraps, but wanted to give a stretchy a go for the newborn stage this time. My goal is to use them on the school run a lot rather than drag the pram out every time. Will probably still use the pram when I have to go into town and need to take a big bag.
