gunwalloe Depending on DH's bonus we're planning on going away in May half-term or maybe the very start of the summer holidays - probably somewhere like Portugal. We want to try and get away for a nice holiday next year while DC3 is still fairly portable and small as by previous experience, travelling with a 1-3 year old is just a pain the arse (or is that just mine?) and the older DC will be 3.5 and 5.5 by then.

I'm knackered at the moment, I honestly don't remember feeling this tired at this stage with my previous pregnancies. I also feel that all I am doing is whinging, which is why I'm not posting here that much. I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy as it will definitely be our last, and I'm not enjoying it much at the moment (plus, I am starting to think about giving birth again, which is hanging over me a bit).

I love the look of Boba 4G as it has a fab looking insert for newborn positioning, look it up on You Tube. However also would like Ergo 360 or Lillebaby (which is getting better reviews than Ergo) which also does ergonomic outward facing & 4 carry positions, for when baby is a little older. Now I have also fallen in love with Tula or Tula Toddler - see what I mean about being obsessed!
For any Mei Tai lovers why do you like them? Are they good for new born positioning? Also regarding stretchy wraps is there a better suggestion than the Moby?

Happytimes31 · 13/07/2014 18:01

Buggy has arrived ?? seems to have coincided with utter knackered-ness though! Has anyone come across kari me slings? Debating whether to get a wrap sling before arrival or just go to a sling library afterwards. Can try a friends kari me but her 'baby' is now big so can't borrow him. Keen on the ergo 360 if OH is happy with the cost... Smile

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2014 19:17

8 carriers hamster?!?! Eight???!!!!

mum2kiss · 13/07/2014 19:18

I have a kari me sling left over from Dd. She was about 3 or 4 months by the time i heard about them though so I can't say what hey are like for newborns. It was comfortable although a bit of a faff with the 17 metres of material lol! I liked that I could take her out and leave the wrap.in place and then put her back in without having to do it all up again! If my friend hadn't sent me the ergo I would just use the kari me again. If I don't get along with the ergo I will definitely use it...

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 13/07/2014 19:19

I prefer mei tais as you can get them to fit you better i think. With buckles you can only adjust them so muc. Not actually tried them with a new baby though, good excuse to go to a sling meet once he/she is here!

Wraps are the best by far the best for tiny babies imo, so snuggly & lovely! I think stretchey wraps are all much of a muchness tbh although i think mobys come up a little thicker.

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2014 19:24

Glad I'm not the only one who is totally knackered. Having a lie down now and too tired to put ds to bed. Thank goodness it's Sunday so DH is around to do it!

tak1ngchances · 13/07/2014 19:37

Gawd. I had the smallest bit of spotting today and texted my consultant, am now in the hospital for at least 24 hours observation. Sad
Have just arrived here, waiting for midwife now

Tuesday1 · 13/07/2014 19:40

Hi all. I've just joined so I'm a newbie... 26 weeks today for me and I'm feeling huge and HOT!! Had a very emotional week last week so I'm hoping I may have a calmer week starting tomorrow! Decided having my hair done and a pedicure may help cheer me up. How's everyone else feeling?

Kirstipops · 13/07/2014 20:04

Aw taking that's rotten you're stuck in hosp but glad they're keeping a close eye on you, sending you Brew + Cake + hugs.

Welcome Tuesday, God a pedicure sounds amazing right now, my trotters are in an awful state!

cabster · 13/07/2014 20:30

Welcome Tuesday! I'm not a pedicure sort of person but I think I'm going to treat myself to an eyebrow wax this week, just haven't been able to face tweeting since getting pregnant. They're a mess!

tak1ing hope it's just baby winding you up and nothing too serious x

I had a sling last time, can't remember the brand but a ring sling type with buckle fastening. I got it off eBay and it was back on within a few months, couldn't get it to sit comfortably over my boobs! Fancy trying a stretchy wrap this time, SIL has one for her newborn so I'll drop some hints about borrowing it when I see her!

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 13/07/2014 20:38

Hi, Tuesday and everyone else. I was feeling fine and not tearful at all, but since a face-off with a large dog on Friday I have been feeling weepy, mostly at the thought that dd could have been with me and had her cheek bitten off or something. I was just telling a colleague a few days ago that that aspect of pregnancy hadn't hit me yet, as well!

I have a Didymos wrap from last time which I will use again at the beginning. I found it extremely confortable, although a bit hot some days (dd born in early summer), but as mum2kiss said, faffing with metres and metres of fabric is not always practical. I've decided to go for a Manduca in addition this time because they have the option of crossing the straps on your back, which was very comfortable with the wrap. Like hamster I want to do the kindergarten run with a sling whenever possible - one route is almost entirely on forest paths which is fab (apart from the increased risk of meeting unexpectedly aggressive dogs not on leashes).

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 13/07/2014 20:40

Sorry, tak1ng, missed your post. Hope everything is fine and you get some reassurance soon and a speedy discharge from hospital.

ExcitedCJ · 13/07/2014 20:43

Taking oh lady, I hope you and bub are OK. You are in the right place right now & I guess if you weren't in there you would be worrying. Let us know you are OK.
More carrier research calls..

CellyD · 13/07/2014 21:03

Fingers crossed that you don't get any more spotting taking. Welcome Tuesday!

Feeling hot and huge too. Definitely more tired than I was at this stage with DC1, I guess that because I'm 4 years older than I was the first time round.

All this talk of slings is leading me astray. I've already got a lovely cloth sling but now I think I like the idea of a new ergo... Off to the sling library for me.

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2014 21:12

Thinking of you taking I hope you and the baby are all
Ok and was just a random bit of spotting x

tak1ngchances · 13/07/2014 21:14

Yes it was a random bit of spotting!!! Coming home now yipeeeee

queenasanti3 · 13/07/2014 21:36

Glad to hear everything is ok with you-taking-
Iam so excited got my 3D scan tomorrow afternoon, then 12 weeks left until we meet our baby for real I cant wait to hold him/her ???

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2014 21:52

Pheweeee taking glad all is well.

Anyone else really relieved that the sodding football is almost over - hurrah!!

DH had a stag do last night and been whinging all pm about heart burn. He doesn't have a clue does he? Been asleep next to me since 8.30!! Apparently he's getting up to iron a shirt for his interview tomorrow and do some more plans for the builders... Hmmmmmmm.

crazycatwoman · 13/07/2014 22:18

I didn't use a carrier/wrap last time but def. want to this time. A friend has lent me an ergo (and newborn insert) so going to try that. I suffer from a bad back though so don't know whether a long fabric wrap might be better - there are soooo many different ones! My local sling library is quite new but hoping to get some advice from them.

Talking - glad all is well.

I've got 7 weeks left at work, I love my job but am so tired too - finding it much more tiring this time, although that might be down to the combination of being older, having a nearly 3year old and working a 9 day fortnight...

Growth scan on Wednesday - looking forward to seeing mini munchkin again.

crazycatwoman · 13/07/2014 22:21

really should proof read - sorry for the typo taking!

ExcitedCJ · 13/07/2014 22:41

Taking phew! Glad all OK.

Tuesday Welcome :)

Fedup I'm at the end of patience with my DH, football, beer & nights out are trying me. Then he complains of tiredness! Rarrrr!

Carrier wise I have decided on a plan - going to purchase Boba 4G & hire a Didymos Mei Tai & Lillebaby from local sling library. Can stop torturing myself now! :)

Happytimes31 · 13/07/2014 23:18

Football is over!! Smile really not feeling the work love tmw Sad. Must go to sleep otherwise will be even more knackered! Quite a lot of work time left it feels like...

fedupofrainydays · 14/07/2014 07:28

Glad you made your decision excited!! Does the 4g outward face?

magichandles · 14/07/2014 07:53

That's good news tak1ng!

Is anyone getting blocked ears at the moment? I can't work out if it is a pregnancy thing or just a thing - but it is doing my head in!
