I don't think anyone doesnt feel extremely lucky to be a part of the pregnancy miracle...I love pregnancy, childbirth and all that comes with parenting (good and bad!), but this time around enjoyment has been difficult. I have been struggling to walk for 19 weeks...It feels.like a life sentence! My left hip has been close to refusing to weight bear for days...I wouldn't give any of if back if it meant I couldn't be pregnant right now though!

I called for a follow up physio appointment today and they have nothing until 12th august! :(

Maybe this is a boy this time...whatever it is its kicking my arse!!!

YellowWellies · 07/07/2014 22:59

Sparkle I only remember from last time. And the fact s/he presses their back, head and bum firmly against my belly. Later on you can figure out which way they're head is facing from the tickly thumb sucking feelings (they mostly have their hands by their mouth). Check out the spinning babies website for how to interpret the kicks you feel into their position. Those that are going by a scan for their babies position - is yours not still shifting position a lot? Every time I walk any distance this one goes head down right into my pelvis... Envy

mum2kiss · 07/07/2014 22:59

You're brave fedup! I have no intention of venturing down there any time soon!

porcito · 07/07/2014 23:01

Mine has been in generally the same place for the past 6 weeks, but has been eating her own hands a lot from the feel of things. Only in the past week have I started to feel things much higher up, along with big swooshing movement so no idea what's going on! Her head was still in the same place when I saw it today!

YellowWellies · 07/07/2014 23:01

Fedup I've not looked at my episiotomy scar in two years. I should be brave like you.

Sparkle I didn't feel much until the third trimester first time, you've likely got an anterior placenta and good tummy muscles chick.

ohthegoats · 07/07/2014 23:17

I have scans every 4 weeks. It's always head up, changes side, but that's all. I can tell from kicks low down.

fedupofrainydays · 08/07/2014 07:01

Ugh walk to station is getting so hard. Really painful stitch low right hand side. Ouchy.

Latest stress out - was reading last night pregnant people shouldn't use mosquito spray. I am one of those people who gets bitten all over so I used it on holiday on my arms and legs (exposed bits). Should I be worried? It was that jungle stuff that has deet in it. Didn't think really or just assumed was ok.

Oh and I've not looked down there, only felt the lumpy mess it's turned in to! Too squeamish to actually get a mirror out and look!

mum2kiss · 08/07/2014 07:54

I think the insect repellent will be fine fedup. How long until you can stay in bed instead of walking to that station?!

Hip seems worse today...its not even really my hip...its the entire left side of my pelvis :( turned over in bed last night and heard it crack :( :(

Keep hearing stories about people ending up in wheel chairs or on crutches. I really don't want to be one of those people!

ExcitedCJ · 08/07/2014 08:14

Yuck! I am exhausted! Woke at 4:15am and hardly slept after that. Not helped by DD getting up at 5:30am & into our bed. She is exhausted & really moany now. Thank god for work & a few hours peace before the dinner/bed time row ensues! She has been crazy the last 6 months. :(

Oklahoma · 08/07/2014 09:14

Morning all, checking in. Not been very chatty recently as still being sick all the time so quite hard to engage with a lot of the day to day.

Also hadn't considered needing something to wander round the hospital in (we've thought about / bought nothing baby related still). We still have plenty of time though right? I'm 24 weeks today.

Pregnantagain7 · 08/07/2014 09:26

mum2 you have my totally sympathies I had spd last time and my god it's painful. I had physio which didn't do much aqua natal was recommended by the physio but I couldn't do it as I had a toddler to look after, also support pants are good they kind of hold your pelvis together, try not to open your legs unless you have to,put a carrier bag on your seat in the car so you can swivel in and out with your knees together.
I've heard that chiropractors can really help but obviously you have to pay. On a positive note mine was completely gone within a couple of days of giving birth and mine was pretty severe I was one of the unlucky ones who ended up on crutches!
Also if the pain gets really bad to the point where you just can't cope you can be prescribed stronger painkillers, I went to see the gp and sobbed I just was desperate for a couple of hours of relief he gave me codeine which is ok to take occasionally but was told as I got closer to due date not to take them because the baby can be born dependant. I maybe took ten over the course of my pregnancy when it was unbearable and they did help.
I also had an induction on my due date (my choice) because I just couldn't bare the thought of being pregnant and in pain for another 2 weeks!

mum2kiss · 08/07/2014 10:23

Thanks pregnant. I've tried to follow all the tips and pointers. I find that the exercises physio gave me make my pelvis hurt more then following day which means there is little incentive for me to do them!

My back has now started aching all day at work so I can't get comfortable on my chair either! I just took a paracetamol in the hopes that it will get me through the next few hours!

Aren't I a bag of fun!!!

fedupofrainydays · 08/07/2014 10:27

mum2 I finish end of aug so 7 weeks. Or 20 more walks to station. Can't really stay in bed as ds gets me up but at least can lounge in dressing gown! He was up at 5.30 this morn shouting about his bottom - not quite sure what was wrong whether his bum actually hurt or whether he was dreaming!

Sorry about the pain you are in. I know some people who have really suffered and it does not sound fun. I would try and get more physio and more frequent. Not sure they should leave you til mid aug?! Support bands and not lifting are good options too.

I think Your best bet for hospital attire is a lightweight dressing gown as hospitals are really hot. I had a cheapo one from h&m - go cheap as it will no doubt get blood / breast milk / general gunk on it!

I wonder if I'd have much luck going to my gp and then having him contact physio to get me in sooner...although I've no idea what they can do to help! Only another 2hrs sat at this desk today....

mum2kiss · 08/07/2014 10:41

bugs I ended up delivering in just a sports bra last time around lol! I rocked up in jogging bottoms and a vest top...

queenasanti3 · 08/07/2014 10:43

Hi all just tagging onto this new thread.
ive just got back from my routine midwife appointment at 27 weeks she told me that my baby was in the breech postion, so explains the movement iam feeling really low down, just got my fingers crossed that it decides to more before its due, i have a 3d scan next week so will be able to see exactly where the baby is.
Oh yeah and measuring one week ahead, starting to worry that iam going to have a huge baby haha. Cant believe how quick this pregnancy is going, whooping cough jab all booked and will have to get 28 week bloods next week, feels like its all go at the minute, passes yhe time away quickly x

fedupofrainydays · 08/07/2014 10:46

bugs I bought a cheap nightie but never got in to it - gave birth in a tshirt I came in wearing. Had tracksuit bottoms on but they soon came off and stayed off. You honestly don't give a flying fuck what you are wearing or who sees your bits when in full blown labour!

Think more about what to wear afterwards when you have had the chance to have a shower / walk about the maternity ward!
But yes, no real need now. Think I went to primark for my purchases about 37 weeks.

mum2kiss · 08/07/2014 11:11

I think I did mine at 35 week bugs after a unplanned/unexpected overnight stay in hospital lol!

Pregnantagain7 · 08/07/2014 11:57

I wore a black t shirt dress to give birth in but second what fedup said you really don't care when your in labour. I didn't wear the dressing gown I bought because it was so warm on the post natal ward.
queen I wouldn't worry about measuring a week ahead tummy measuring is not that accurate and anything less than 3cms over is considered normal.
mum2 I got to the point where actually getting to the physio was creating more pain and just wasn't worth it. She actually said when I got to 37 weeks I don't think there's any point to you coming any more the only thing that will make you feel better is the baby coming Hmm
I think I did my bag at about 35 weeks can't even think about it yet seems far too early for me, think i need something for it to sleep in first!

YellowWellies · 08/07/2014 13:28

Buggerlugs packing your bag then is fine - packing anything for baby is pointless at this stage as they'd only be 3lb at 30 weeks so would need special premmie nappies, clothes etc from the NICU.

magichandles · 08/07/2014 13:59

DD I gave birth wearing the t-shirt I came in in, DS I was wearing a nightie and did intend to change into an old t-shirt but didn't have time!

I'm feeling mixed at the moment, sometimes I feel fine, but this morning I was exhausted - 3 days of tramping round watching cycling in various parts of the country has worn me right out.

I find it a really hard balance, I know the best thing is to keep active for as long as possible, but sometimes I'm just too knackered to do this.

gunwalloe · 08/07/2014 14:07

Ooooooh new thread!

I've sat and filled out my MA form today should have done it a few weeks ago but couldn't be bothered lol this is the first time I've had to use MA with my other baby's I was employed rather than self employed. Does anyone know if they run late with dealing with the forms will they back date the money or start my MA later?

mum2kiss · 08/07/2014 16:06

Just sat and chomped through an entire bag of tortilla chips and a jar of salsa! Whoops!
