jen I've been having prods around ribs (I'm 31wks on monday), dh think my ribs have started to move slightly too and I've been getting out of breath really quickly. I have a short body so it wouldn't surprise me if these sorts of things have started happening.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 25/07/2014 12:19

My little Squish is very quiet today & yesterday. I seem to remember other ladies getting this around 28 weeks so trying not to panic. I only saw the midwife 2 days ago & all was fine so i don't need to worry do i? I sometimes wish i had a see through tummy so i could see what s/he is doing in there!

I left DS at nursery for the first time today. It was only for an hour but felt really odd walking out of there knowing he was with someone i had only met twice! He had a lovely time though & gave me lovely cuddles when i picked him up. First proper session on Monday, i might cry!

Me23 · 25/07/2014 13:42

jelly I think you know what my advise would be! Ring your mw or maternity unit if movements have reduced a lot.
Re nursery I found Ds thrived in nursery he has a great time was nerve wracking for us parents though.

I called for my results of bloods taken other day and I'm quite badly anaemic my hb has never been so low before no wonder I have been so devoid of energy! Had to go and get iron tablets and have extra bloods done to check iron stores etc. Well at least I don't have gestational diabetes aswell.

hefner · 25/07/2014 14:26

I cuddled a friend's 4 week old baby this morning and it had made me really excited about my own baby arriving. DD enjoyed stroking the baby and was very gentle with her, so I'm hoping that's a good sign that she'll be kind to her brother!

I can't wait to start getting things organised for the baby. All I've bought so far is the car seat. I've got other things like cot, moses basket, buggy and lots of clothes saved from DD but they are all in the attic or stored at my mom's house. I'm dying to go through the old baby clothes and see what else I need, but I've got nowhere to put it as the house is in the middle of being renovated, and the nursery won't be ready till at least mid August. DD is currently sleeping in there while we sort the other bedrooms out. I'm getting so impatient! Like you said sazzle I'm in trouble if this baby comes early!

fatpony · 25/07/2014 14:53

We have a 'plan of action' for August complete with excel spreadsheet and links! We hardly have any weekends free so need to get our shopping done in the ones that are spare. We've bought quite a few clothes, sleeping bag, bath towel with hood thingy, cot blanket but none of the larger items as need to sort our room out first.
DH expresses quite a bit of interest and likes holding the tiny clothes but if I wasn't buying the nicer stuff I know he wouldn't think of it - e.g. just bought a sweet Flenstead mobile of sealions and he would never have searched for something like that!

YellowWellies · 25/07/2014 15:24

We have the Flensted swallows mobile above the cot Smile

STIGZ · 25/07/2014 17:21

Oh my goodness, really dont know how all you ladies from england manage in this heat!! Im in glasgow and has been boiling hot for the past week or so!! ... Cant wait for scotlands rotten weather to return!!

In regards to buying i have all practical stuff in like new pram, car seat, bottles etc! Also have some hooded bath towels & a pack of 3 bibs! Will get an outfit for taking baby home and a couple of babygro's, vests & socks to do me a few days - then will probz be out at shops picking up other wee bits n bobs i need to give me something to do
Whilst on maternity !!

mrsb87 · 25/07/2014 17:31

I am not coping in this heat today. Actually missing the air con at work . I just want to hide in the fridge!

porcito · 25/07/2014 18:14

We've got pretty much everything we really need apart from cot blankets and a few tiny tiny vests. I say we, I mean I given that he has virtually no opinion on any baby items. I think it's as other people have said, when the baby's here, he'll be able to connect more but until then, it's just a tiny moses basket for something that makes my stomach stick out occasionally. Also went down the spreadsheet route, wasn't even glanced at. 'whatever you decide'. I think it was Amazon that have a good baby registry where you can add things from all websites to a list. He actually looked at that one...

Lulu298 · 25/07/2014 20:10

We've got Moses basket, baby bath & a collection of clothes all lent by my sister. We're in the middle of clearing crap out of the spare room and then we're going to get new carpets for the upstairs. After that think we'll be buying more stuff although feel it's getting a bit late!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 25/07/2014 20:33

Thanks me, am getting lots of kicks really low down now so think baby was just having a shift!

We have everything left over from DS so only need to buy a bouncey chair & some muslins. DH was a star with buying baby stuff last time, i was a bit obsessive over the tiniest thing & he would sit and nod in all the right places bless him!

fedupofrainydays · 25/07/2014 21:16

DH has just come home and is on the rampage. Builders let a load of water in the house when it rained loads earlier. Ruined more ceilings and blown a light fuse. It is really annoying as all our ceilings were fine and now will all need to be repainted :(

queenasanti3 · 25/07/2014 22:17

Just over 10 weeks till I finally get to me this little sooo excited Smile ???

  • this little one x
Bumpforme2014 · 25/07/2014 22:36

Wow queens amazing pic, we went for 4D scan as well but found out about HD too late to change booking! What a cutie :)

queenasanti3 · 25/07/2014 22:41

Thanks, too be honest I went for 4D one but they forgot to do the dvd so had to rearrange appointment then they cancelled on me and changed the appointment again so upgraded my package to HD for free because they messed me about, so was lucky x

ohthegoats · 26/07/2014 00:26

We went through the spreadsheet list - just me listing it off, asking if there was anything he cared about enough to not let me choose. Only the sling/carrier - so we're going Boba 4G and actually buying it new... exciting, is probably the only 'big' thing we'll buy new.

Then went to a festival all day... not as much fun sober, unsurprisingly.

ExcitedCJ · 26/07/2014 00:32

Goats I got a Boba 4G new, delivered last week. It is a lovely looking sling. I much prefer it to my Ergo by the look & feel, I guess the test will be in the wearing of it! :)
www.babame.com is a great site to buy from, very reliable & fast, associated with a sling library too.

queen amazing pic!

There is so much choice with sling / carriers now! We have gone ergo 360 which is the most expensive but I like the sound of what it does / how it works so gone with it! Proof of the pudding will be in the eating and all that! In sure if we don't get on with it re sale on ebay will be pretty good as a new product and often out of stock they are in quite high demand. Keep meaning to test it - might try with next doors baby but it's a bit awkward with huge bump surely!!

Kirstipops · 26/07/2014 08:15

buggerlugs I hope you get a nap later, I woke up at 4.30 with the heat but managed to grab some extra hours on the settee.
Asanti aww wow that is a an amazingly clear pic! It'll be fun to compare it against your little one's face in a few weeks time!
Had my MIL and SIL and her family over last night for dinner, she has 7 yr old twin girls and a 10month old baby girl who's a gorgeous giggly contented little thing, was strange to think that in a year's time I'll have a baby about the same age :-O
I'll chuck in my tuppenceworth about NHS too - having experienced health issues from childhood they have been nothing but amazing for me, I have paramedic and children's nurse friends (how handy will that be now!) who would love a system overhaul as much as the patients. Travelling to other countries and seeing the poor souls who have no access to free healthcare (mental healthcare in particular, some of the homeless people I've seen it amazes me how they survive), it really hits it home to me how lucky we are.

Hope you have some nice Saturday plans!

ohthegoats · 26/07/2014 09:50

Excitedcj - glad you like your 4G thingy - do you think it would be alright for a 5ft tall person and a 6ft tall person? We've got very different body lengths (obviously! would be weird if we didn't).

After 13 hours of walking around yesterday, I feel as if I've been beaten up today. And we're just off to do it all again... might have to break the no caffeine rule and just go for it.

Urgh we have a tot with a temperature of 40.2c, utterly listless so last night was spent at OOH at the local hospital. Get the NHS 24 number in your phones now BTW - you'll all get more monies worth out of the NHS in the first year after their born than ever before! He would only sleep clinging to us (a sure sign he felt rubbish) so was getting hotter and hotter and finally let us sleep at 3am. Urgh......
