Just popping on to say hi and good luck today, keep and mummy and anyone else with scans. We've been on holiday and had to get up at 3 a.m. to get the ferry back on Sunday, so I have been very tired for the past few days. Felt absolutely exhausted today on the tube. Hopefully will be back on an even keel soon. Want that 2nd trimester glow!

Thanks all.

Cvs was done, it isn't pleasant - I was literally shaking before hand bit glad it's over. The doc was really reassuring that it is unlikely dc will have downs. She said she has been doing this for years and unless it's 1:3 or under she doesn't really worry!? She also said erratic bloods can run in families ( which my family do have) She was also really reassuring that the cvs she does don't end in miscarriage thankfully.

She was really thorough with the scan. The baby looked delightful jumping about and everything looked fine they said. It's has the longest legs like my Florence - I reckon it's a girl :)- dh does too now.

We got some more scan pics which are fab :) I feel really positive. We get first results back Friday- these are the main ones and then in 2 weeks we get the second lot back - plus the gender :) I cannot wait to find that out.

I am nervous about Friday, sure all will ok now though.
Phew!

Sounds like a very positive experience, considering, Keep. At least that part is over and you're a step closer to reassuring news Thanks

Keep so glad it went well - and that you are feeling positive :)

lindamagoo · 08/07/2014 13:59

Keep I'm so glad they managed to get it done this time and that the doctor was able to ease your mind a bit, sounds like you don't have much to worry about come Friday Smile Can I ask you how long it took after getting your 12 week scan before they contacted you with the high risk results? Its fantastic to hear you sound a bit more positive about things now Smile

Minibagel · 08/07/2014 14:49

Fab news keep and that's great what the dr says, what a weight off your shoulders. Roll on Friday

Loobyloo893 · 08/07/2014 14:55

Great news keep sorry the procedure wasn't nice but it sounds like all will be ok, and you get to find out the gender too! Will be nice for you to have some good news after all you've been through.

Camsie30 · 08/07/2014 15:51

Thanks so much everyone!

Linda- one day! They phoned me the very next day. They seem to be very hasty to get things sorted which is fab for is mums :)

By the way - I know a few of you have understandably worried about your recent screen results being lower than with your previous dc, or lower than you hoped for so I just wanted to say the doc explained you always have to look at each result for each individual dc on its own- without comparing as all this does is creates more anxiety, and according to her , is understandable but totally unnecessary.

So many factors can affect a result and create a high risk like ours. Dh was convinced as ours was comparatively so high to our Dds there must be a reason and that reason is Down's syndrome... She has, thankfully, assured him that's not the way to look at it!

lindamagoo · 08/07/2014 16:29

Keep I am so pleased for you, you sound a lot more positive and thats fantastic Smile And thank you, you've eased my worry a little too, clearly the odds have to be very drastic before we should worry and the fact I've not had a call yet is also a good sign. I hope your feeling ok now after the test xxx

Cherrypi · 08/07/2014 16:31

Scan went well this morning. I forgot my notes eek. Feel like I can get excited now.

ilovelamp78 · 08/07/2014 16:45

Glad it went well for you today keepon fingers crossed for Friday x

Congrats on the scan too cherrypi

linda my scan was last weds and I haven't heard anything yet but the midwife did say to me " no news is good news" they will contact you within 3 days if there is a problem otherwise the results will be posted out- so I'm thinking I'm probably in the clear. I'm sure this is the case for you too!

rumisyum · 08/07/2014 16:57

keep I'm so pleased it went well for you today. Hoping for more reassuring news for you on Friday.

And hurrah for your scan, cherrypi!

lindamagoo · 08/07/2014 17:13

ilove my scan was last Thursday but all she said was if I haven't heard anything within 2 weeks everything should be fine, I did think it was a bit long to wait|worry but everyone seems to have heard before that so I'll go with the no news is good news thing Smile

I think I managed to miss the start of this thread and you've already done 171 posts!

Feeling rough here - low bp and utterly exhausted. Going to try and work from home tomorrow or drop ds at nursery then go back to sleep

Off to catch up on everyone's news now.
