Here we go.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 30/06/2014 05:54

Excitingly cryptic message ismarah! Are things going of their own accord or is today your scheduled CS date (sorry can't remember when that was)?

Good luck.

(P.S sympathy to all fellow pregnancy insomniacs. Have been waking up every hour, on the hour - after it took me 3 hours to actually get to sleep. Angry is baby trying to train me or something?)

justhayley · 30/06/2014 06:06

Hiya,
It's just gone 5.45am bit of an annoying time to be awake, especially as I have a garden shed being delivered anytime between 7am-noon. DS went to bed at 11 last night so I know I could get a little lie in if the shed doesn't come in hour an and a bit!!!Confused Hoping the delivery man isn't an arse hole, their tx saying when they are coming says they only drop to front door not round back to garden, DP has gone back to work (at 4am) so I could potentially be stuck with a garden shed at my front door and have no way to carry it to the garden! I have a little hope as the base came last week & the guy brought it round so hoping it's the same one.

Hope you got some sleep in the end Blue. Hopefully pool will be delivered Tuesday or Wednesday. I missed the company's call on Thursday and totally forgot to call them back, so sent them an email over the weekend to organise delivery. Should hear from them tomorrow - or today I guess it is now.
Got my birthing box ready yesterday with exciting things it in like shower curtains x3 floor coverings that begin with T but I can't remember the name of (big blue things?) , sick bowl, a torch etc. Need to sort out my towels but getting slightly organised. Going to also have a my things labour box, with things I might want, and a if I'm transferred shuv contents of box into bag box, & of course a box for baby things. DP is useless at knowing where anything in the house is so if I have it all separate in boxes on the table he should be able to get what's needed and not faff about - I have 0 tolerance in labour!

Zing hoping baby hangs on till after the 14th. I know this sounds terrible but my mum is a foster carer, at the moment she has a 13 year old girl who is lovely (ish) but so so loud. She was supposed to be going back home today but it's now been extended till Friday. I need my mum at my labour but if it happens this week the girl with have to come and it's my nightmareConfused. She was at her sisters birth and is actually desperate to be at mine but I can't think of anything worse, she's the least calm person iv come across In a while. I'm hoping social services don't extend her dates anymore and baby stays put until she's gone. Although DS was premature he came on a perfect day that was convenient for everyone hoping his sister follows suit & doesn't start making her way into the world until iv given her the all clearSmile my point is I know how you feel about needing baby to wait till a certain date - gosh I could have just said that in one line & been asleep by now lol.

Kid: didn't get ball sorted out, realised iv somehow lost the plug bit so have ordered one on eBay and as soon as that arrives I'll get it blown up.

I feel kind of lucky pregnancy wise, I'm not physically suffering like you ladies at all, don't really feel pregnant now. Felt rough about 27-31 weeks but think that was down to being anaemic, as soon as I started taking iron & that kicked in iv felt a million times better. My stresses are more to do with extreme hayfever spoiling my life right now, the house not being exactly how I want it when baby arrives & DP and mum not making it to my labour so I end up alone giving birth with a toddler! Really need my waters to go first so I have a warning and some time for them to get here. MW is predicting a 1 1/2 - 2 hour labour based on my last one, which will be great only if waters go first. If that's my full labour time & I have no previous warning, DP definitely won't get to me and there's a chance my mum won't either.

Anyway realised that's a mega long post so I'm not going to bore you all anymore and am off to try & get to sleep.

See you in a bit

Plateofcrumbs · 30/06/2014 06:54

Oooh cryptic ismarah! Good luck if today is the day!

icklekid · 30/06/2014 07:26

Ohh ismarah fingers crossed all goes well Smile

BlueC2 · 30/06/2014 08:01

ismarah hope all ok and that today is the day for you!

zing, ickle, fifi and Hayley hope you got some sleep...I feel utterly wasted, hardly slept at all :(

hayley well done with your homebirth prep. I have opted to keep babies first outfit and a few other bits in my hospital bag which I'll just keep with my homebirth stuff so that if all goes to plan we just open that up to get it out but if not it's all packed reDy to go iyswim, so DH doesn't have to do anything really. Managed to get cover for DS for Saturday yesterday which is great as that's the only day our lovely childminder can't do. In an ideal world it'll all happen overnight so DS will be asleep upstairs, or alternatively kick off early in the morning but wi time to get DS to childminder without it seeming to odd to him so that I can focus during the day...he can stay over at their house too if necessary.

Whoever mentioned fat stores my thighs seem to be the place for fat deposits on Eagan so I now have lovely stretch marks up the inside of my thighs as they've grown to accommodate the extra layer of fat...lovely! And baby keeping poking out the side of my bump is adding few stretch marks to bump where previously I was pretty much mark free, apart from hips and boobs (boobs got stretched beyond belief when my milk came in last time and will never really be the same again, poor DH!)

So despite the lack of energy today I am going to have a mega sort out of loads of paperwork type bits currently strewn over my desk and find a new (tidy) home for them all...oh and put my maternity out of office on my work email. Not that I've had any work to do this month but I promised myself that 1st July was official start to mat leave:) (shame my maternity allowance payments are going to be super delayed due to major cock up with my national insurance status though!!)

Right...must drag myself into the shower...happy Monday all! Hope those that still have to brave work are doing ok and that for those who this is the first Monday of mat leave don't find it too odd!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 30/06/2014 08:30

Ah, blue you've reminded me that one of my first maternity leave tasks is phoning up to find out what's going on with my Maternity Allowance as I asked for it to start this week. Do you know if they usually send you any kind of confirmation that you're getting it?

And although I'm not doing any client work today I do have some business admin to get done so I should prob get out of bed and get on that...

hayley I hope baby behaves themselves and gives you enough warning so your DP and Mum make it on time. Tell him/her that this is non negotiable :)

MrsA2 · 30/06/2014 08:56

Blue, I'm 40 weeks tomorrow. Hadn't even considered that baby would still be kicking during contractions, I guess of course it will but didn't really think about it before.

Zing sounds like the 14th or onwards would certainly be easier - fingers crossed.

Feeling better this morning but still a bit achey and sick. Joined the no sleep club last night, a really bad night with wake ups every hour and then no sleep at all 3.30 onwards. Bleurgh...

Becky2208 · 30/06/2014 09:55

Baby Rhys was born this morning at 4:05, 6lb 11. I'm shattered, so will post more later.

MrsA2 · 30/06/2014 09:57

Congratulations Becky!

Collie1806 · 30/06/2014 10:12

itsalways I got a confirmation letter through to say I was entitled to Maternity allowance then absolutely nothing. Called them up twice to chase it and they sent me a letter with definite payment dates around a week after the second call; the lady I spoke to the second time was really helpful.

ismarah good luck!

GrouchyKiwi · 30/06/2014 10:12

Congratulations Becky! Lovely. Grin

Collie1806 · 30/06/2014 10:13

Oh and huge congratulations becky!

Does anyone have a link to the post birth thread? I seem to remember one being posted a while back but can't seem to see it...

fifi669 · 30/06/2014 10:50

Congratulations becky :)

Finally went to sleep sometime after 4. DS was up bright and early as per usual sitting on my bed watching tv. He starts prodding me saying, 'mummy, mummy, daddy told me not to wake you up.' Ah excellent, so why are you? No nursery today either so it's going to be a long day.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 30/06/2014 10:59

Congratulations Becky!

Thanks for the info Collie. All I've had so far was a request to confirm my bank details, which I assume is a good sign but I'd like to know for sure!

So, erm, in other news, rather dramatic start to my first day of mat leave - putting things away in the kitchen and managed to drop a massive wooden chopping board on my wrist and my bump! Phoned triage to see if I needed to have anti D and they got me to come in and be monitored. Baby's moving a lot (he prob got the shock of his short life - sorry kid, you have a massive klutz for a mother) so I'm hoping everything is fine. Sigh. Feel really stupid.

fifi669 · 30/06/2014 11:21

If it helps at all I have a DS running into/trying to jump on/generally being reckless with the bump and all is still good. I think they're actually quite safe in there.

MrsA2 · 30/06/2014 11:29

Oh no ItsAlways, I think they are very well protected though. Hope you are home again soon.

If it makes you feel better I have two bruises on my bump from where I've walked into things. Bit embarrassing when the midwife was measuring me on Friday.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 30/06/2014 11:31

Thanks fifi. I'm sure everything's ok, I only really came in because of the anti D (my midwife said to come in if any risk of bleeding) but they don't seem too worried about that. On the bright side, the lovely midwife from last time I was in triage is on shift and she's brought me some tea and toast to have while I'm on the monitor.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 30/06/2014 11:34

It's really easy to do isn't MrsA? This was particularly stupid as I should have checked the board was on the shelf properly - I'm lucky it landed mostly on my wrist and not on my head!

icklekid · 30/06/2014 11:52

Congratulations becky hope you and Rhys are both doing well. Not surprised you are sleepy guessing you were laboring throughout the night...

Glad you had some nice toast its and that all is ok with baby of course!

Still trying to wake up here...been food shopping and about to go to the gym. Don't recommend going food shopping first thing- ended up spending too much and bought mini mars bar ice creams on a whim...may have already eaten 2 of them!!!

Anyone want a baby scan photo frame? Been given one but not really bothered by it- happy to post if anyone would use otherwise will be going to charity shop!

BlueC2 · 30/06/2014 11:53

its hope you're ok? Sounds nasty...amazing how clumsy pregnancy can make us-take it easy

becky huge congrats to you!!

mixi hope all ok with you and that things not dragging on too much!

mrsa2 not sure they all wriggle and kick during contractions and it was only the early ones! think they're getting too squeezed getting down the birth canal for anything later on. Just know that DS suddenly flipped b2b when I was 3cm though think he turned again before I gave birth, though he literally flew out of me in the end so no-one could say which way he was lying as the MW only just caught him!!

Just had my 38 wk appointment- next appointment booked for due date - eek...scary stuff! All well, baby head down and 2/5ths engaged. MW recommended lots of walking waddling to get things going so may take myself out for a wander later. Second babies often engage later than first babies so I'm encouraged that this one has been snuggled down since 36weeks, though was hoping it'd gone a bit further down in the last two weeks.

Remembered last night that my first labour pains with DS were the day I reached 39 weeks- which is this Saturday! So hoping hoping the end is in sight!

jbiscuits · 30/06/2014 12:03

Congrats Becki!

Thanks for everyone's advice. I did ring and go in, and good job really as baby boy biscuits was born at 3:20 this morning, weighing 7lb 11. Birth 'plan' went out the window, but we're both doing well and have been allowed home already Grin not sure what to do with ourselves now!

ismarah · 30/06/2014 12:28

Bean was born in 2 minutes by ELCS as 08:56 this morning, weighs 2.79kgs. Came out screaming and didn't stop till she had a nibble. Been asleep since and we are cool and groovy. Everything was textbook but I'm so glad I chose the ELCS as the local didn't work and the spinal was really painful. Still quite headswimmy (and hungry!) but the spinal is wearing off already.

BlueC2 · 30/06/2014 12:28

Woohoo biscuits great news!

It's all happening on here now and it's not even July yet! :)
