I'm sooooo tired! After working last week, working the weekend and now nearing the end of the second week I'm exhausted! Got parents visiting at the weekend to decorate our house with us... zzzzzz!

Good luck to those with scans today.

14 weeks today! Grin

Loobyloo893 · 03/07/2014 08:36

Good luck with all the scans today ladies, hope the run of good news continues.
Hope all is ok j200 and epu can reassure you Thanks

ilovelamp78 · 03/07/2014 09:10

Good luck with scans today...I think there are five of you...a bumper scan day for the January bus!! X

Ps lady I didn't even bother posting my scan pic, its so fuzzy. Yours is way better!

sleepisforthetired · 03/07/2014 09:21

Morning!
Good luck for anyone with scans today - and loving the pictures from yesterday!
Last night we were discussing (again) finding out sex vs. surprise. DP is so certain it is a girl - he outright said he would be "sad now" if it was a boy (in his defence he did add "only for like a minute"...
I really don't mind, as in really don't mind - either would be wonderful and feel we would be blessed if the child is healthy and even more so, if child is without disability (ds has a couple but only hinder him, not stop him from enjoying life).
For this reason, I am sitting a bit more on the side of finding out, but only to tell DP in advance - so any flicker of "oh :(" will be over before the birth.
I cant see what I am supposed to be looking at for nub theory - and skull theory (in my extremely limited experience!) does indeed look like a DS.
Would anyone like to speculate on the scan image for me?

Or would anyone like to offer their opinion on what they would do in my situation ie really not bothered about finding out as what will be will be - but worried DP might be slightly even if only momentarily disappointed - would you get any hint of negative out the way early?!

Wetthemogwai · 03/07/2014 09:24

I have an early scan at the EPU today, soooo nervous! Im sure it'll be fine and I'm just being dramatic but I won't be happy til I've seen dot for myself!

Good luck everyone!

rumisyum · 03/07/2014 10:32

Good luck for the scans today, ladies! Exciting day indeed. And fingers crossed for you j200 and wet having EPU scans - hope it's good news all round.

sleep luckily we have a few weeks to decide. Smile I expect your DP wouldn't really be genuinely disappointed one way or other, especially in the heat of the moment of a little one being born - that would probably be the last thing on their mind! But maybe keep thinking with them about it? I find it funny how people get so sure about what we're having - personally I feel like I don't have a certain idea one way or other, so it amuses me that someone who's not even in my body could know for sure. Wink

Another totally exhausted one here. I thought that got better along with the nausea and stuff as 2nd trimester neared? All I want to do today is nap! Saras have fun at your gig, but I don't envy you! I was due to go a show in London this evening, but cancelled as I knew the trip back home late at night might kill me. Early bed for me tonight, that's for sure.

12+1

sunshineandbiscuits · 03/07/2014 11:16

sleep we are going to find out partly to prevent any possible flashes of disappointment once the baby arrives. I imagine we probably would just be excited the baby had arrived, but we don't want to take the risk. Even with the nub theory which is hardly accurate we both had a teensy twinge of surprise/disappointment that it indicated girl because we were so convinced it was a boy. I guess it depends on whether you want a surprise at the birth - we are not bothered.

Good luck for all with scans!

missdonsol · 03/07/2014 12:01

Just got back from my scan and all was well. It's really there!!! :)

Can't contain my excitement....not sure how I will be able to concentrate on work now. Sooo much to think about.

j200 · 03/07/2014 12:34

Good news ladies, my little one is ok. Smile So relieved!

Have to have a blood type injection though as I am 0- and apparently my body will reject future + babies if I don't. More waiting but I don't mind. Hoping I will have an uneventful rest of pregnancy! Xx

sleepisforthetired · 03/07/2014 12:38

thanks Rum and Sunshine - I personally think it is one of life's only real surprises. Given the way the birth went, there was no "here's baby" (bum and male parts waved in my face) - It was almost mechanical Baby fine, its a boy, job done.

There didn't feel any magic to it - which is so different to what all my friends with surprises had (or at least claim!) I really want that moment!!

But friends that found out during pregnancy say they had the ohhh #love moment in the scan, so did still have it.

Have weeks until the anomaly scan, so might just challenge him to pulling straws or flipping a coin or something!

DP showed someone the scan, they said nub = girl, a different friend said skull = boy. So maybe it really really doesn't matter as I will have a wonderful package of both Grin

Camsie30 · 03/07/2014 13:39

Had my scan this morning and all is beautiful! Due date pretty much spot on as 14th Jan. Im so happy with my hospital choice and the midwife that I have is wonderful. She said that all of my appointments will be with her which I'm thrilled about.
Also got my Harmony test results which were also good, very very low risk. AND I know the sex!! But I'm not telling anyone!! Haha! I cried on the phone when she told me!
Glad to hear everyone else's good news, especially yours J200, what a relief.
January is going to be an incredible month ladies! X

Lady just clicked on your scan (too enlarge picture) and baby is looking straight at the "camera" it appears, how lovely!

Bugaboom · 03/07/2014 14:36

Congratulations on the scans. Mine also went well. Due date 2nd Jan- exactly what I thought, but early scan said 8th so glad to be brought forward again (couldn't bear the thought of an extra week at work Grin)

cheshirem2b · 03/07/2014 15:12

congrats ladies! Lovely news! Smile

AlteredCarbon · 03/07/2014 15:30

Good news from me too! Soooo relieved! Really happy for all the good news today. Have to go back next week though as despite a lot of jiggling and requests to do 'Shakira hips' couldn't get a clear nt measurement. Don't mind though - just so happy everything was ok. :)

cheshirem2b · 03/07/2014 16:24

altered you're luck they are doing another nt measurement. I have to go for bloods next week because baby wouldn't sit in the right place! glad all is fine though! Smile

KeepOnPloddingOn · 03/07/2014 16:55

Here's my little miracle :) I haven't shared him/ her yet and felt like doing so :) feeling very grateful today!

KatnissEvermean · 03/07/2014 17:38

All good here too. I was there for an hour and a half because the baby wouldn't move into a position where they could measure it. Was in and out of the room about five times, wiggling, weeing, walking, sitting, etc. They got there in the end, not the clearest picture but the baby is definitely there!!

So happy for everyone else that has had good news today!

rumisyum · 03/07/2014 17:59

Hurrah for all the happy scan news today! And yay for your excellent Harmony result, Camsie. So pleased for everyone. And such a cute scan pic, Keepon. We're having real, actual babies! Smile

sleepisforthetired · 03/07/2014 18:04
