Saraswati no worries about the boob thing, I'm the same as you and quite puzzled too. They stopped hurting at 10w, I'm 12w now and it's starting again! I've gained 2 cup sizes, I hope it doesn't mean they're going to grow more, I'm a FF already now :(

So anyway, after my official dating scan yesterday they put me 2 days back and I'm now 12w today with an EDD of 14th of January (or for the French, on the 21th at 41w which is utterly confusing).

I though I saw a nub on one of the scan pics but after careful consideration, it look much more like a bit of a leg... so I'll have to wait for the next scan!

Great news Mini & Rum love that you put your foot down about EDD - I'd have done the same had I known, mine was moved 4 days earlier...

I need to know more about this skull theory! Rum a completely uneducated guess - I'd say yours is a girl based on (very) layman's nub theory.

helloelo French/British anomaly in gestation and due date has always baffled/fascinated me. Can you shed any light?

Ooh what's the skull theory!?

Apparently vivi the official French pregnancy is 39w after conception (41w after LMP). And they will induce you by 40w after conception (our 42w after LMP). So the spirit is the same... but they had to do it slightly different otherwise they wouldn't be French. Obviously.

Fab scan news ladies.
I was shopping today for my holiday at the end of the month. Trying to buy shorts and skirts, total nightmare! I'm quite chunky at a size 16 and only 5ft 1in, non maternity clothes are just fitting and no more and my waist has disappeared. I managed to get a couple of elasticated skirts from h and m and a pair of maternity denim shorts.
I didn't think I'd pop out this soon, with my first I wasn't in maternity gear until I was 18 weeks.

hi all, posted once befor when found out but not since, admittedly been lurking though
I'm due Jan 20th, lost count on how many days/weeks lol, hav my first consultants app Friday and scan nxt wed, due date could quite easily change as no last period date and scan I had early didn't really give great pic of bubs for measurements as I have an inverted uterus.

So anyways congrats everyone

Well going on skull theory, in 2 of my scan pics the Prulet is decidedly girl-like and in the other two he's a he. Ah well!

Ooh, so skull theory says boy, but nub theory says girl. Leaves us in the same position of having a surprise. I wonder what the shape of my bump/how I "carry" will suggest? I love playing bump gender guessing games, so not finding out is going to be well fun for me.

LOL at the French having to do things differently, helloelo. Though I must say, their way of counting how pregnant you are makes more sense to me! And Pru my husband and I are exactly the same in foreign countries. Actually, we're both different nationalities & ethnicities, so we're casually racist with each other all the time, it's terrible. We can't teach our poor kids that kind of behaviour. At least not till they're old enough to get the humour.
