excited sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I really cant imagine having s toddler and being pregnant. Cant help you but hope other peoples advice works!

mrsb oh no! I think someone else mentioned a return of morning sickness too. Is it normal is the 3rd tri? I've had a few mildly nauseous mornings but put it down to being tired as not managing to sleep. Really hope none of us get it back Sad

hefner · 30/06/2014 09:58

CJ I don't have any useful suggestions but you have my sympathy, DD briefly did the same. We started potty training a few weeks ago and she started waking really early calling for the potty (she still wears nappies at night but doesn't want to wee in it now she's started using the potty). I bought a gro clock and was planning to explain that if she gets up for the potty before the sun comes on she has to go back in her cot afterwards and wait for the sun. No hope of getting her back to sleep but I was hoping she'd at least sit quietly looking at books so I could go back to bed! Would your dd do that? Thankfully I didn't have to test it as she has gone back to sleeping later again and just asking for the potty when she gets up.

MrsB sorry to hear you're feeling I'll.

hefner · 30/06/2014 09:59

ill, not I'll obviously!

bumpbangbump · 30/06/2014 11:06

Sorry to hear the sickness has returned Mrs. I've been sick again in the morning and some nausia during the day. Seems to be sleep and food related for me. I'm going to be the size of a house by Oct!

No advice I'm afraid cj but listening to all given. I think we'll be making a move towards potty training soon!

mrsb87 · 30/06/2014 12:59

binky it can come back but it's not very common I don't think. Popped out to get some fresh air and got some paint to up cycle some old furniture for the nursery. 2 free wardrobes and a chest of drawers for £17! I've paid more for the paint! Hehe. Love a cheeky bargain.

YellowWellies · 30/06/2014 13:08

MrsB I love upcycling old furniture. I'm' not particularly good at it but it's so satisfying. Have just finished an old trunk which I've decoupaged with old music sheets and varnished as a coffee table for the lounge and then tidied up a motley ensemble of charity shop and gumtree dining chairs and a Victorian mirrored dresser in duck egg blue paint. I've got a battered rocking chair I stole from a skip to cheer up next and then I just need to finish the dining room walls. How are you going to do them up?

I love upcycled nurseries. We have just put up some Ikea bekvam spice racks as display bookshelves for J. £2.50 each and 4 hold all of his bedtime books and he can see them front on rather than spine on, so can easily get the ones he wants. (He's only 20 months so can be a bit foxed by normal bookshelves). I've seen posh kids display bookshelves for £80 so could justify buying him a wee poang armchair (£20) with the money saved. Smile

YellowWellies · 30/06/2014 13:11

Here he is enjoying the end result. For a second before he decided to fling the books off the shelves.... (sigh)

Massive rage right now.
Bloody builders have got through the outside wall and it's in our main bathroom. COVERED everything in dust and brick (so haven't protected it) and didn't shut the bloody door so it's gone all over the house - one big dust cloud. So annoyed and the PM guy isn't here. Demanded he comes back as have the rage. God help him when he does. Angry

ohthegoats · 30/06/2014 13:36

Oh no fedup - I have similar dust issues. We haven't even started the bad stuff downstairs yet - just plastering and stuff upstairs. Urgh. It's just everywhere, coats your skin all the time. Also, boyfriend coughs and coughs until he heaves, then I heave because I'm not very good when people heave around me. Nice.

And I'm the 'PM person' - that's going to be my maternity leave I think!

mrsb87 · 30/06/2014 13:39

This is my £17 bargain. Needs A bit of tlc. It also has a drawer missing but I think I have a basket I can use. I'm using Annie Sloan in country Grey . It's a shame 2 of the handles are broken as they're really pretty.
The two wardrobes are just bog standard pine but with a bit of love they will look just as interesting as the drawers!

Sad so many people are having tricky times! I have just got returning to work after holiday blues. And decorator over running into this week but nice 25 wk appt this morning Smile. Started looking at buggy packages again, anyone seen any Cham 3 deals??

fatpony · 30/06/2014 13:50

I feel sorry for all of you dealing with toddlers not wanting to sleep/returning nausea/inconsiderate builders - cannot imagine.

Quite envious of the upcycling going on though! I was going to buy some cheapo mini bookcase for the nursery and do that thing where you paste some nice wallpaper between the shelves (if you know what I mean) so it is more colourful - I think you can get decent sized samples of wallpaper for not very much.

fatpony · 30/06/2014 13:51

ps if I post something on the Facebook group it won't show up in my regular Facebook feed, right?

YellowWellies · 30/06/2014 13:51

MrsB they look awesome. I love a bit of Annie Sloan! Good luck and enjoy.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 30/06/2014 14:21

Any other bigger mummies here? Started out with a bmi of 31 which means i get weighed at every appointment. I weighed myself this morning and could cry Sad I've put on 5lb in 3 weeks! Got my 25 week appointment on Wednesday & really don't want the midwife to tell me off Blush

I don't think i am being that bad but its hard when your hungry all the time!! Argh this was so much easier last time when i was blissfully unaware of how fat i was getting!

binkybunny · 30/06/2014 14:23

Oooo lovely upcycling! I emailed about a gliding nursery chair I saw on Gumtree at the weekend I was planning on repainting and covering but it's gone so on the hunt for a rocking/ gliding chair!

You've all inspired me to get to B&Q and buy the paint we need to do a side table, toy box and linen chest for the nursery. Need some lovely cream and heritage green paint, are there any paints that should/ shouldn't be used in a nursery or are they all okay once dry?

As part of the John Lewis clearance sale they had roles of gorgeous fabric at a fraction of the price, so if anyone is looking for material it might be worth a look on their website/ in store.

I'm feeling thankful that all we have to do is paint some furniture and stick some stickers on the wall. I couldn't cope with builders and dust. Once I'm home from work it's feet up and lounge!

mrsb87 · 30/06/2014 15:39

binky I always like the Annie Sloan stuff as it's easy peasy , it sticks to anything so no primer Smile I'm lazy so I like it, lol.

ExcitedCJ · 30/06/2014 15:56

Hi all, thanks for the advice. I had to take the day off today as I was so tired I felt sick after breakfast & vomited! :(
I told my DH you guys thought his ice cream comments were very unhelpful & he has his tail between his legs & is booking me a massage to make me feel better! :)
Planning on waking DD up at 11pm when we go to bed, FX it works. She is 3 years old, so potty in room might work too but let's hope a preemptive strike as Celly mentioned might help.
In other news, I bought a Connecta integra baby carrier today. I have been told they are really good for the initial period when they are really little and as I am worse than useless at wraps I am hoping this will be a good alternative to my Ergo with infant insert.
Not much left to buy for this wee bub, been on a bit of a spending spree recently.

mum2kiss · 30/06/2014 16:02

Glad you hubs has seen the error of his ways excited. Mine would have said similar lol!

binkybunny · 30/06/2014 16:09

Thanks mrsb they look lovely but nearest stockist is miles away. Will have to see what B&Q stock then decide if I can wait til I can get to one of the stockists for Annie Sloan.

Binky I love Annie Sloan paints but they are a bit pricey. This time I used a paint called Autentico (it's a chalk paint too) - you can get it on eBay and like Annie Sloan there's no need for priming. I found it cheaper and also loved that it was easier to seal and even let me varnish it to thoroughly protect it. Check them out too.

mrsb87 · 30/06/2014 16:25

Thanks for that yellow will look into that next time.
We finished our stripes on television wall at the weekend too, really pleased with how it's looking!

Television? What? Auto correct is a bloody nightmare! That's meant to say walls Confused

pusscous · 30/06/2014 17:06

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks as post keeps deleting and my patience of lack of it means I dont retype... A week ago on Saturday I fell over, luckily landed on ankles, knees and palms, bump was fine. Knees cut, joints swollen, soft tissue injury and knee caps threatening to dislocate has kept me resting on sofa the past week. Can now walk on ankle but not for huge distances comfortably, cant bend very well so automatically use abs, which is also not very comfortable. Feeling very sorry for myself, pain and discomfort would be eased if I could dose up on nurofen, not helped by severe lack of clothing options, compounded by some maternity clothes still too big at 24 weeks.

the rage has easily set in as a result- the trigger Seraphine order placed last Monday before sale started. Order should have been shipped and with us by Thursday but no, no idea what happened to order, charged us but no stock left now due to sale. It was a dress for Brothers wedding in just over 2 weeks time. Angry
