I'm royally fed up of being pregnant now. FFS. Sick of my body limiting what I want to do all the bloody time. Would like my sex life back too.

The thought that it might be over 3 months to go makes me want to cry, quite a lot. When can I start doing things to get it out? Bearing in mind I'm only 28 weeks - 10 weeks would be OK yes? Can I do reflexology at that point?

mum2kiss · 07/07/2014 17:53

Issuing the eviction notice already goats?! As odd/crazy as it may sound you will miss your big belly when it's gone! I know how you feel though I'm struggling to really enjoy pregnancy this time around with all the pain and general suffering I seem to be experiencing! I don't recall any of this with dc1!

MundayCakes85 · 07/07/2014 18:52

I read an article recently that said that "full term" was no longer considered to be 36 weeks and the percentage of post partum complications was significantly improved by 40 weeks.
Although I'm finding putting shoes on/ cutting toe nails/ getting off the sofa more difficult I'm really enjoying the experience. Especially as, through the conception board, I realise how luck I am to be pregnant and not having complications. I'm sure everyone on here feels the same.

YellowWellies · 07/07/2014 19:01

I think none of us have a clue how tough pregnancy is until you're pregnant. I suppose the commitment of loaning your body is a good trial for the bigger commitment of parenting. Anyone else find themselves staring at total strangers thinking 'you were a baby once, wow' and a newfound respect for Mums and Grandmas.

Whilst I would be happy with another 36 weeker - they are terrifyingly wee, difficult to feed, prone to jaundice and get whupped by every winter bug. Certainly before that their lungs aren't finished, so Goats I'd agree with your idea of 38 weeks.

mrsb87 · 07/07/2014 19:09

I too realise how lucky I am after being on the conception forums, even with hyperemesis at 28wks. Even with aches and pains! munday I'm having all those troubles too, it is annoying as my feet need some serious attention and dh really has no clue!

YellowWellies · 07/07/2014 19:10

Goats I wouldn't pin your hopes on a quick return to your sex life after eviction - just in case but don't despair it will return. I think they recommended a six week sex ban for us after due to bleeding and stitches. TBH neither of us were in a place for rampant nookie in that period anyway - its a bit like a bomb's hit (in the nicest way!) til you find your feet and body confidence can nose dive whilst you've a big saggy empty belly and hormones stabilise.

Sex will be different after - not necessarily worse. Sadly the opportunities are less frequent (oh god we miss morning sex!) energy levels are lower, the time to get into nice undies and beauty yourself is shorter, petty tired squabbles are more common etc, but after going through the physical intimacy of birth together and your shared love of your baby can often mean its more loving and your bond closer.

Also you can find heightened sensitivity in your lady bits after birth - a/pleasant side effect I wasn't expecting! Smile

So don't stress. This too shall pass.

I think my little one has turned - finally feeling kicks high up (anterior placenta - high) and bump is now much more egg shaped as before it was flat! 26+3 here…
Feeling noticeably more tired this week than last and sleeping is becoming more difficult… So weird to think in 3 and a bit months we will be mums (and dads!)

Kirstipops · 07/07/2014 19:58

Mine has turned sideways, gah! Been Googling the life out of positions to help move little one's head back down as sides of my bump were tender and the weighing down on my pelvis were agony today, ended up taking a half day from work! Just glad there is still time for a lot of movement but I'll be doing the suggested moves and positions anyway to help things along!

Kirsti mine is lying transverse too and a real wriggler. They are thankfully facing back out most of the time but I swear they're stretching all their limbs against my spine. I wish I could tell head from bum - in a few weeks if I can feel their hands near their mouth (thumb sucking) I'll hopefully figure that!

Kirstipops · 07/07/2014 20:13

I think mine might actually be facing down, wee toe-rag!

"Heightened sensitivity in your lady bits after birth"...prays again she won't need a c-section Grin

I am enjoying being pregnant, I can't walk down corridor at work anymore without bumping into a woman who wants to stop and discuss my bump and baby which I am loving.

I wasn't on conception forums for long but I still appreciate how lucky I am to be pregnant, it's a miracle that not everyone is blessed to experience and even though it's ten times harder than I thought it would be I am grateful for it all.

My little one is lying head down with her bum on my right side and legs on left so I feel kicks on both sides and low down as well now. Starting to feel more tired but this is the best sleep I've ever had, I'm normally a terrible sleeper averaging about 5-6 hours of broken sleep a night. These days I'm out as soon as head hits pillow and sleep through for 4/5 hours which is unheard of for me.

I am loving the talk of big knickers & witch hazel water etc, have added to my list. I bought M&S multipack last time & with c-section scar they a little bitey at times but was deffo not spending heaps on scar repair pants.
I bought the above Kaftan style gown for hospital this time, last time I had a mega huge M&S nightshirt & wanted something really colourful & cute this time. I reckon if I know I have something nice to wander the wards in & that I will feel kinda nice in then the Oxytocin will flow & all will be well with the world!!! :) good theory huh?

ExcitedCJ · 07/07/2014 20:25

Ooh... Nearly time for thread 9..

Kirstipops · 07/07/2014 20:27

That's lovely CJ!

CJ that Etsy shop has some awesome maternity gowns. I was buck naked last time as was sooooo hot, but this time I won't be in a remote and empty island maternity ward - so I think I might need something to cover my modesty and at those prices if, it gets trashed, well you can't complain. Thanks!!!

Is anyone doing the honours with a new thread?

ExcitedCJ · 07/07/2014 20:53

Would love to but can't think of a great title!

Can't wait to get my gown, will give you a review when it arrives.

sazzlehopes · 07/07/2014 21:07
