Haventgotaclue- good luck with your scan tomorrow, arecu finding out what you are having?

Elliekins- sorry you are having this pain too. IM in agony this evening with it, cant get comfortable at all. Going to try an ice pack. Think i may try and get into the doctors next week just to mention it and to rule out gall stones but it does sound like that rib flare. Is this your first pregnancy? In my last 2 pregnancies i had it and i think it went around 7months. Hope its sooner this time as so painful especially having to run around after a 2 and 3 year old! Hope it eases for us both soon!

amylou85 · 26/06/2014 21:26

Twiglet when i hear movement on the doppler it sounds like when someone taps a microphone to test it, like a 'duff' sound. I love to listen to it now because Like Alita I can correlate it to my movements so I know it is definitely my gorgeous little bundle as I feel the pops as I hear the sounds. I now know them well enough to know when it is baby moving even when i'm not listening to the doppler, like tonight! It is wriggling about in there while i'm watching tele!

bunnykitten · 26/06/2014 23:20

I have the second attempt at my 20 week scan tomorrow morning to try to see / measure the rest of the little guy. Hope he's less camera shy this time!

Twizzzy · 27/06/2014 06:26

Hope that your little boy smiles for the camera this morning bunnykins.
Sorry to hear some of you are suffering with your ribs. I hope it's nothing more serious.
I bought my first item for the baby on the way home from work yesterday. Just some sleepsuits but very exciting.

TwigletFiend · 27/06/2014 08:14

Scan day today! Good luck all fellow scangirls!

bunnykitten · 27/06/2014 08:18

Good luck scan girls!

I've been reading about perineal message -

bunnykitten · 27/06/2014 08:19

-- oops! Sounds delightful

bunnykitten · 27/06/2014 08:21
Shock
bunnykitten · 27/06/2014 08:22

Argh! Stupid iPhone!

haventgotaclue1 · 27/06/2014 08:58

2boys nope, not going to find out (if we can help it! ).

Good luck to everyone else having their scan today!

Think bean realises it's a big day as am sure that i can feel some fluttering feelings this morning! !! Haven't been sure before now Grin

Alita7 · 27/06/2014 08:59

Good luck to those with scans today!

And congrats to those that have had them! We've got lots of boys!

Twiglet I hope the cramping stopped and that all is Ok, Ive had massive cramps twice when I've been walking around town for a while, my pelvic girdle hurts after lots of walking anyway but then my back hurt and it felt like I had terrible trapped wind but I didn't and my belly was really tight. I thought it might be braxton hicks but then it was constant so it couldn't have been. It eased off when I sat down. maybe baby was attacking nerves or my muscles and ligaments were too stretched.

I think my belly piercing has closed up now :(

I'm going to get the mother care perineum cream and massage from 30 weeks. It is annoying though we have to cocoa butter/bio oil bump, boobs and bum every day, do pelvic floor and now this too!

Morning and good luck to scanees! Will check in later to see how you get on!

Yep bunny - tis indeed delightful.;-)

Alita -dont worry - we do all this when pregnant and once baby arrives- we forget ALL about ourselves and our needs! ;-)

haventgotaclue1 · 27/06/2014 09:49

Obviously very hard at work Wink - just too excited and nervous to concentrate. ...roll on scan time Grin

Greenstone · 27/06/2014 10:07

Alita, I just used plain old olive oil - or coconut oil if you have it already.

Good luck scanees!

Strawberryfield12 · 27/06/2014 10:07

So The M&P order just have been delivered with some sleepsuits I bought on sale. I got 0-3 size, but just started to worry they might be too big for the first few weeks and I will end up doing knots to its legs Hmm.
Week ago in mothercare there was a lady with 6 days old baby, he was so tiny although she said he was a big boy. I think that baby would get lost in those sleepsuits...

What size clothes are you buying for your babies?

moggle · 27/06/2014 10:28

At least buying too big you know they will fit at some point. I have mainly bought 0-3, 3-6 etc in sales if I see something I like. I am planning to get some plain tiny baby and newborn babygros and vests nearer the time from supermarket or similar for the first few weeks. Then I can either leave them in the pack and return them relatively easily, or if I do decide to have them washed and ready it won't be much money wasted if they are too small. We are near 24 hr supermarkets and have amazon prime membership so I'm not too worried.
I do think little tiny babies look even cuter and smaller if that's possible in clothes that fit them! But doubt I will care once baby is here :-)

moggle · 27/06/2014 10:28

Meant to add- I have read that 0-3 are in general not designed for newborns, usually they are for 10lbs and up.

Alita7 · 27/06/2014 11:26

My mum bought me peppermint bump spray! I have no idea what it's for! She says it's cooling... I guess maybe in august ill see a benefit?

Have been getting a mix of both 0-3 and newborn sized sleep suits and body suits when I've seen them on sale. DD was in newborn for a few weeks so we needed a fair few.

Good luck with scans today ladies :-)

BabyButton1 · 27/06/2014 12:39

Good luck with scans today ladies.

I'd never heard of Pernieal Massage either - just youtubed a video of how to do it....wow thats rather interesting. I dont think I could get DP to do it for me...hopefully my hands will stretch that far nearer the time. Not the most flattering but anything to help prevent tearing.

I cant stand the smell of anything still so i'm using aqeous cream as a body moisturiser. The doctor said is was water based so wouldn't smell at all. I've got an extra large tub of Cocoa Butter but its so smelly ;-)

Making me very excited hearing about all of the baby clothes everyone has been buying. We've not been clothes shopping yet but as soon as I stop feeling so sick we are going to have a little shopping spree together :-)

Amyrose and anyone else - today I have also woken up with sharp stabbing pains low in my pelvic area on right hand sign. I get sharp pains every few minutes and has lastes since 7am. Should I be concerned?

booksshoescats · 27/06/2014 13:24

Good luck to everyone having scans today - my advice for non-wriggling is don't have any tea or coffee beforehand. I had a coffee before my 12-week and she was doing somersaults, but at 20 weeks she was quite well behaved. Although in the last week (22 weeks on Sunday) she's been kicking the shit out of me to make up for it! Also having a good go at punching my cervix although not yet strong enough to cause real pain. She is definitely taking after her sister.

2boys - we did find out this time but not last time. Haven't regretted it at all, in fact we're so thrilled to be having another girl and it's been lovely for DD to talk about 'my sister' - makes it more real for all of us. We've been really struggling with names for a second girl, too, so it's good that we have plenty of time to decide!

There's one girl's name I suggested but had started to go off a bit (but DH really likes), and I mentioned it to DD the other day, and it sounded so pretty when she said it (and she really loves it) that it made me feel all enthusiastic about it again. So there have been big advantages in finding out, including, also, feeling more settled about staying in our 2-bed flat with small second bedroom, which we love, but would have been much less practical with a girl and boy.

On the subject of clothes, DD was 8lb 4 and 0-3 months would have swamped her at first. She was in newborn for 6 weeks at least.

Hope those of you with pain are finding ways to lessen it. Sometimes it's just position and that can change, if it's any comfort. I am SO much more comfortable now she's moved up a bit in the last week. A month ago I was walking like I was 8 months gone, really stiff lower back, horrible heavy feeling of bearing down - I honestly thought I was heading for some kind of prolapse Shock. Now feeling really comfortable, much lighter and easier to walk too. So things can change quite a bit at this point.

haventgotaclue1 · 27/06/2014 13:33

babybutton sounds really familiar. I went to GP yesterday and was properly checked out and was told everything was okay and was likely to be muscle related. But she said i did the right thing in getting it checked. So my advice would be if you're worried, go to see your GP / midwife.

Good luck!

Annarose2014 · 27/06/2014 13:35

I'm going to get a few bits for newborn but only in Tesco or Primark. As cheap as possible!

Annarose2014 · 27/06/2014 13:40

Btw, has anyone legitimately got that famous 2nd trimester "burst of energy and horniness" that all the books bang on about?

Cos I'm still knackered and only managing to DTD about once a week/10 days. The mind is willing but the body is weak! Blush

BabyButton1 · 27/06/2014 14:27

Thanks haventgotaclue I think I'll see if the pain goes away by the end of the day and if not I'll definitely contact GP or midwife. Hopefully it's just muscle related.

I think we are going to get 1/2 cheap tiny baby outfits just incase and a few newborn bits and then go out and buy lots after the first few days when we know whether we have a little boy or girl.

Annarose I have not had any burst of energy yet :-( really hoping it will come soon. I'm still suffering with hyperemesis though...I sleep all the time and get so tired if I do anything remotely active...hopefully lots of you are full of energy though...

Just recieved a parcel from my mum with some lovely baby nursery ideas/pictures :-) made me less bored for 10 or so minutes (hate being at home now!!) and a parcel from a friend with some beautiful baby towels in and some moisturisers etc. for me!! Can't wait to start decorating the nursery...
