Chinese Brilliant news! How do you know it's hiccuppy! Could you see it or can you feel it?

fancyacupoftea · 17/06/2014 21:31

Oops ? not !

cheshirem2b · 17/06/2014 21:46

Chinese that's great news! Grin
I bet you are so excited!
2 more sleeps for us and fx for more positive news!

MademoiselleG · 17/06/2014 21:57

Yay Chinese great news! Wait until you can feel the hiccups, like someone else said on here, it's incredibly cute/funny/endearing at first and will certainly distract you at work... The novelty wears off after a while but I still catch myself smiling when I see dd hiccupping!

lady sorry you're still in limbo about the scan. Very annoying. I'd ring now, but that's just me. I'm quite impatient! Good luck, I hope you get a date very soon.

ChineseFireball · 17/06/2014 23:07

We saw the hiccups on the screen Grin

Monstamio · 18/06/2014 05:56

Yay Chinese! Congratulations, that's brilliant news! Smile

I've got mine at lunchtime today - eek! Think another lady has one too (sorry, on my phone so can't check who it is)? But if you are going in today then good luck!

Lady yes I seem to be changing shape too but weirdly it seems to grow throughout the day. I'm already in my fat clothes but by late afternoon I have to start unbuttoning my trousers. Then by morning it's gone back down again. I'm just getting bloated aren't I?!

Saraswati · 18/06/2014 06:09

Yay chinese my EDD was moved today too we are both due on Boxing Day!

Telling my DM last night was lovely, she was really surprised and over the moon. She was a lot more excited than I expected her to be considering she already has 3 GDCs. She just kept on squealing 'ooo a baby!' (She's not the sort of person to squeal about anything!). She was patting my tummy, kissing my DH all over his face, I couldn't have asked for a better reaction :) we called my brother when we were at my mums house and he was very shocked but excited. He said it was the last thing he expected to hear from me but he's very excited to be an uncle! We also told my aunt (mums sister) who I am close to, also very excited so it was a lovely evening all round. Telling some friends tomorrow and DH family at the weekend, phew!

My family all agreed with me that it's a girl, the last three babies born in our family were boys so I think everyone is hoping for a girl!

I feel like a I did after my wedding, like yesterday was all a surreal lovely dream. I have no idea how I'll act normally at work for the next few days! Good luck to all those with scans today, now for some twins ;) .....

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 07:07

What a great reaction saraswati!

And congratulations chinese that is wonderful news about your hiccupy baby!

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 07:08

Good luck Monstamio! Sara what a lovely reaction, she sounds just like my Mum. Opposite to your circs, she's got 5 GDDs and one GDS (who she doesn't see - toxic SIL) so while everyone is secretly thinking a boy would be lovely, we're convinced by law of sod this will be a girl too...

lindamagoo · 18/06/2014 10:23

Good luck to the ladies having scans today Smile

Chinese I'm glad your scan went well, I loved when ds1 got the hiccups inside me, was super cute but he had them all the time, was nuts, missed it all with ds2 cause there was so much fluid between him and I, hardly felt any movement at all. This time round I'm going to treasure every little flutter as this will be my last dc, 10 + 3 and can already feel a little movement, amazing Smile

cheshirem2b · 18/06/2014 10:39

Good luck Monstamio!

fx for happy news on the forum today.
I am so nervous about our scan tomorrow... only 28 hours to wait! Shock

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 10:40

linda that's interesting about feeling movement. I could have sworn I felt the baby flipping over last night. I'm 10+2. I guess we're more in tune when its not our first? It still seems v early, maybe its just wind?! It's nice to think that in the coming weeks it'll be more and more obvious that it is the baby.

We have decided that after our scan at 12w (if all is well) we'll have a private sexing scan at 16w. It will break the weeks up so much better to have had one at 10, 12, 16 and 20. By then the baby will be moving all the time so that will be reassurance enough. Has anyone had/ going to have a 4d scan?

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 10:42

Also has anyone around 10w or more felt something hard in their lower abdomen more over on one side than the other? What is that? Is it a wonky uterus or just bowels?

lindamagoo · 18/06/2014 11:21

Mini I thought it was just wind to start with but it's happened quite a few times now and defo feels like baby Smile

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 11:23

Yaaaay!

j200 · 18/06/2014 12:11

Ladies I am a nervous wreck after the sad news yesterday, even though I had a scan at 9+1 am not sure I can wait till 24th for the official one, convincing myself my boobs are smaller today too Hmm got to think positive!! Xx

LulusMiniEgg · 18/06/2014 12:20

Me too J200, I think it just puts into perspective what a scary journey this can be. Just keep positive that we will be ok.

All my symptoms have gone now too, boobs don't hurt, don't really feel sick anymore (although I was never bad even at the height), feeling full of energy. Hopefully it's just the magical second trimester starting early (I'm 11+5).

Fx ladies xxx

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 12:30

You could drive yourself mad with worry, but we are all individuals and it's more likely that your symptoms are easing than you have miscarried. You can't compare it with any other pg even previous dc's.

It might reassure you that I read on here that if you haven't had any bleeding but have miscarried, your symptoms will continue as your uterus continues to grow etc. So no bleeding and no symptoms is a good sign.

My own symptoms come and go, I guess with hormone surges, but my boobs were never painful and I've not had bad nausea or any sickness apart from a couple of gags at bad smells weeks ago and all was fine with my scan. Overall I'd say I feel better with this pg than with ds1.

With ds1 as I have mentioned, I didn't get sick until 14 weeks and it lasted until about 17-18 weeks. So it's not over yet for me, I'm guessing!

Minibagel · 18/06/2014 12:32

Another sign I must be feeling better...I cooked with lots of veg last night and even duh duh duuuh bought some apples. I haven't really fancied either since getting pg. Maybe seeing the scan has made me put in more of an effort?!

HenriettaTurkey · 18/06/2014 12:35

It's lovely to read stories of happy scans: heartbreaking to see people leaving the thread through loss.

I've been really blue the last few days - feeling really hormonal and teary all the time. I'm sure it's a combination of exhaustion and hormones but it's tough to take. I just want to sleep and cry - and still feeling really sick. Anyone else? Any advice on how to snap out of it most welcome!

Saraswati · 18/06/2014 13:01

j200 I had a 9 week scan too but then convinced myself it had all gone pear shaped before my 12 weeks yesterday, which of course was fine. Be positive though, I read in the 'expecting better' book that a good scan at 9 weeks reduces your risk of miscarriage to 2%, after 12 weeks it goes down to 1% so there's not much difference and I'm sure you'll be ok when you get to your scan.

I'm super tired today, yesterday was so exciting I feel like I've ran a marathon! Going to perfect sleeping with my eyes open at my desk....

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 18/06/2014 13:41

Hi everyone

I've not been keeping up with the thread for a while and it looks like I've missed quite a bit. So so sorry to those that haven't had good news Sad Really can't imagine how you must feel, sending virtual hugs to you all.

Since last night, I've had some very small amounts of very light brown discharge, only on the first wipe (sorry if TMI). It's almost clear/beige in colour and definitely in the mucus and it's not there eveytime I go to the loo. I'm 9+4 and after googling (I know, I know) I'm having a mild panic/worry. Called the MW and she said as long as it's not watery, pink or red or accompanied by pain then just to keep an eye on it and go to the GP if I'm concerned. Like some others I also feel like my nausea has eased very slightly and am putting 2 and 2 together to get 5.

Can anyone pass on any words of wisdom??
