HungryHorace · 07/06/2014 21:41

Welcome to the 9th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed. :-)

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 24th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

For those not in the know, a viroid is an autocorrected version of 'ladies' from the 1st JS thread, which then stuck.

So, roll call below please, viroids. :-)

I just need to say arrrrrgh!!! Some fuckwit is arguing with me on ebay and apparently my pg hormones won't let me rise above it Angry lol.

JuniDD · 09/06/2014 21:03

hehe!
I'm planning to do reuseables. If you go to the nappylady website (just google nappy lady) you can fill out a questionnaire and she sends you two recommendations for kits. Pretty useful, although I want to have a look at them IRL so need to plan a trip to the hippy shop on the other side of town for sometime.

Sorry about the chicken pox scare, furry, I'm avoiding a friend at the moment who has a house of pox, I don't want shingles or anything, but had a bad dose as a teenager so probably have a decent immunity. People are so thoughtless.

DP asked tonight if we could go on holiday...I said he should choose where we go & book it. No holiday for us then! Wink

wilhelmeaner · 09/06/2014 21:15

Is he as useless at planning holidays as my other half Juni?

I don't know about using reusables. I feel like if I was going to do it, I should have done it first time round. My plan last time was to use them in the house and then disposables when we were out but I kind of never got around to it. Apparently the environmental benefits are negated by using the washing machine to clean them and it's only significantly cheaper if you use the really cheap ones. Plus I'm pretty lazy I might look into it again though.

JuniDD · 09/06/2014 21:19

He's funny really wil. Sometimes sorts really nice stuff. But I can tell this time it would be my job and if he wants to go away that much he can sort it! Grin Grin

RPopz · 09/06/2014 21:27

Ooh I like the nappy lady! Some scary looking contraptions on that website though Hmm hehe x

DulcetMoans · 09/06/2014 21:36

I know popz, what a fool I am! I thought it as a new interesting way I saying clothes buying.

Hands up to useless hubby - we'd never do anything or go anywhere if left to him!

Nessalina · 09/06/2014 22:05

I am epically lazy. Reuseables have never even crossed my mind! I'm already dreading the washing just in babygrows!!

Minion · 10/06/2014 07:15

I'm a bit on the fence about washables. One one hand, great yes, recyclable and breathable and I only put cotton on my bits so should do the same for MINIon, otoh, all the washing poo down the sink..bleurgh, my gag reflex goes mental near a bin on a hot day.
As for husbands planning holidays... Here have mine. I live with Judith bleeding chalmers. The man is ridiculously good at planning. Me, I'm a bit blasé.

HungryHorace · 10/06/2014 10:21

Disposables here, I'm afraid. I couldn't be doing with the extra washing and we don't have a tumble drier, so winter would be hideous as we'd be surrounded by drying nappies!

DH tends to defer to me when arranging stuff, though he could do it himself if he didn't. :-)

Min, is your husband as orange as JC?!

Minion · 10/06/2014 11:29

Haha horace, believe me if he could, he would! He proper hammers it on holiday but the poor thing hasn't quite worked out just how pale skin, blue eyed, slight ginger tinted he is yet. He's only 31, I give him 5 more years before it sinks in..

Nessalina · 10/06/2014 17:32

Quiet afternoon... Work was sooo dull. Can't believe it's only Tuesday!
Could definitely feel some little baby squirmings today - such a weird sensation Shock Very cool though Smile

RPopz · 10/06/2014 19:11

Good point, we don't have a tumble dryer either... Confused

Bread and cheese for tea! Grin

wilhelmeaner · 10/06/2014 19:34

Mine never plans anything either. Sigh.

I had to have a sandwich for tea too as the thought of anything else made me want to spew.

How exciting Nessa.

RPopz · 10/06/2014 19:37

Just nearly cried at the OBEM trailer.... guess I won't be allowed to watch the actual series then!! Lol.

Have you actually been sick at all Wil?

That is exciting Ness Grin Sorry work was rubbish though!

Minion · 10/06/2014 20:32

Girls girls girls.. My hair is no longer greasy.. Is this the miracle second trimester starting?

I just had to share, was well impressed!

wilhelmeaner · 10/06/2014 20:56

Oh I love pregnancy hair Min, can't wait until mine kicks in!

No Rpopz. I actually know I won't be, I'm never sick. But just feel constantly seasick. I think I may actually go to bed.

HungryHorace · 10/06/2014 21:14

I think I'm giving birth to an elephant...this baby is intent on battering me to death from within. Don't think it's stopped for the last few days. And it's HARD!

ELCS date tomorrow. Yay!

Wil, do you wear seasick bands?

OP posts:
RPopz · 10/06/2014 22:00

Hooray for nice hair Min! Thankfully that's one delightful pg symptom I have managed to avoid so far. Even my skin is amazing, despite my preposterous diet! Hormones gotta be good for something eh.

Same here Wil I'm never sick either. Been feeling sick and retching like a trouper but still not actually vommed yet and don't think I will tbh. I wonder if we'd actually feel better if we did vom though?? My preggers work colleague swears by those travel sickness bracelet things but they're not very discrete!

RPopz · 10/06/2014 22:00

Wow Horace that's crazy - so by tomorrow you'll know exactly when bump is arriving!! Grin Eek!

Nessalina · 10/06/2014 22:20

It's the L'Oreal 'I'm worth it!' Trimester! Grin Get swooshing! My hair has been very easy to manage lately, and it's growing like mad!

That's a bit exciting Horace! Have you set your mat leave date yet or will you plan it round your ELCS date?

DulcetMoans · 10/06/2014 22:55

I didn't even know such a symptom existed! Will watch out for sexy hair from now on.

Exciting times horace! How do you find out - are you waiting on a letter of appointment?

Minion · 11/06/2014 06:59

Oh god, please let it be the 'L'Oreal trimester and the not the Cheryl 'dull, lank, lifeless' Cole stage!
I've had to wear my hair up for 3 months as just one finger ran through it would turn it into a do that could power a roadside cafe for a year. Don't even get me started on my skin.
Spotty Herbert had nothing on me. I hope that clears up too.

It's particularly galling as I used to be able to go three days without a shampoo, my hair is really very thick and strong, grows like weeds and doesn't get split ends but the past 12 weeks let's say I looked like worzel gummidges slightly more tidier cousin.

HungryHorace · 11/06/2014 07:24

Min, I've not had that symptom before (do the old wives link it to a sex?!). My hair generally stays as it was (last time) or gets full and glossy from the start, to the point that my hairdresser said it felt different!

Yay that yours is now 'worth it'!

Ness, I finished work last Friday. I've been on secondment since I went back from my last mat leave and decided that it would be too complicated to try to slot back into my actual employer for 2 weeks (and it's a 90 minute commute each way), so I had a debrief there on Friday morning and then finished.

I've 5.5 weeks' leave to take so mat leave starts at 36+6, which isn't too bad.

Dulcet, I think the consultant will just tell me the date today face to face. :-) I'm not really sure how it works really, as I was told to book my appt between 30-34 weeks, which I did after my first consultant appt after my 20 week scan. Since then I had to go to VBAC clinic to discuss my options.

They'd better not get me back again. It's like a cattle market where your given time mean nothing! The scan plus appt took 2 hours last time. Good job DH was with me. He won't be today though as DD has a consultant appt herself in the next city to check her hips are level at exactly the same time.

Just want to know so I can plan!

How's everyone feeling today?

OP posts:
Minion · 11/06/2014 10:43

Horace, well if the old 'girls sap ypour beauty and boys give it' myth is anything to go by, I suspect it would point to girl.
I hate waiting to find out.

OOOH exciting, by the end of today you know when youre meeting your new addition!
Thats excellent news!

DulcetMoans · 11/06/2014 11:17

When's the appointment horace? We all need an update now! haha!

Hooya for panicking that I don't feel ill enough please!?
