Argh stupid I phone. polythene yes I get that pain a lot, usually after long walk. The yoga pose pigeon is a miracle cure for me!

Speaking of boobs - I had an orange stain on my white tshirt over nipple area which I think at 14 weeks is leaking colustrum. NEVER had leaking boobs when pregnant - bit perturbing! Wonder if its old stuff from last time I fed as my boobs are enormous and sore Hmm

Bettycakes80 · 24/06/2014 22:22

They listened for the heartbeat at my midwife appointment (16 weeks) but was a bit surprised she didn't need to weigh me? Did everyone else get their weight checked?

PolytheneGirl · 24/06/2014 22:29

Daddypig I still had the tiniest bit of milk from bf DS but it has now gone from white to the yellowish colostrum. I'm amazed it has happened this early.

Off to google pigeon yoga pose Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/06/2014 22:35

Oh my god, how soon can I expect leaky tits if I'm a first-timer?

PolytheneGirl · 24/06/2014 22:48

Mine didn't leak until the last few weeks first time round but I think it is completely different for everyone. I'm not leaking as such yet, but I get a drop or two if I have a squeeze obviously I've been having a squeeze Blush

LotsaTuddles · 25/06/2014 06:21

I didn't leak at all last time. But feeling like they're getting ready to start soon.

Last time my MW listened to DS' heartbeat at my first appointment after 12 week scan, so probably around 14 weeks.

Not sure if she'll do the same this time, will find out on Friday Grin

DrewsWife · 25/06/2014 06:34

I have booked a yoga class with a doula. quite interested. had to send hubby out to buy nipple pads too. my boobs were leaking and im 15 weeks today. only teeny amounts but its.my 2nd pregnancy.

and my dd1s dad turned up to talk to my hub last night and said to him.... oh congratulations on expecting a baby with Karen but you do know she miscarried alot when we were together so she will probably.do the same with this one.

asshole knew I was at work and hubby called me in a rage. and then in tears. Angry

have had to ban him from coming near. dd1 is 18 tomorrow so after that I dont need to ever talk to him again!

Chipandspuds · 25/06/2014 07:02

Bettycakes with DS and this pregnancy I've only been weighed once at the booking in appointment to calculate my BMI.

Peaceloveandbiscuits no leaking here! With DS my milk came in after about 3/4 days post partum and I found it did leak a little bit if I was having a bath.

DrewsWife and does your ex still wonder why he's an ex...? Wink

My poor tummy is absolutely enormous at the moment, I'm feeling fat rather than pregnant even though I look in the mirror and I can see it's a bump! Hopefully I'll start enjoying my big tummy soon. Still it's nice as people have started to ask me if I'm pregnant which is always fun :) My neighbour even ran over to give me a kiss and hug which really took me by surprise!

I'm feeling some little jabs each day now from the baby which is lovely. I can't wait until DH can feel too :)

I had a look around town on Monday to see if there were any cute baby outfits and everything was pink or blue. We're not going to find out if the baby is a boy or girl as we genuinely don't mind and DS was a surprise too. I'd like to buy the baby a little outfit - probably after the 20 week scan - to get a bit excited, so if anyone has any recommendations for where I can buy neutral baby clothes please shout!

Chipandspuds · 25/06/2014 07:04

Forgot to add 17+5 weeks today...and a true sign of ot bring a neglected second baby I had to add up the weeks on my calendar!

SassehMonsta · 25/06/2014 07:57

I have changed midwives after popping in to see mine for a form (maternity exemption form) and realising even if I gave her another go I still wouldnt get on with her! Luckily, there are 4 surgeries that share the same building so I have swapped to another surgeries mw and just have to go on a different day - hurrah!

I also have drips if I squeeze, which I have been doing a few times a day after getting itchy shooting pains. My nipples keep changing colour though one has an impressive bruise but no idea how!!

15+4 today. That 16wk/4month thing is getting close!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 25/06/2014 08:48

I dont know whether its round ligaments pain and I have been overdoing it, or cramps but I am getting a lot of pain. No blood though thankfully. Bad enough so that I sometimes cant stand straight.... I have qn audit this morning but after that I might get ii checked out. Who would be best you reckon? Dr or Hospital? Angry Sad

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 25/06/2014 08:49

Takes my breath away and has been going on all morning.

DrewsWife · 25/06/2014 08:55

thanks spud.

spider I had similar.. call midwife for reassurance. my hip is a nightmare. think its.the chair at work. but baby is ok.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 25/06/2014 08:56

Forgot about midwife!!!!

mopsytop · 25/06/2014 09:23

Chip if you buy babygros mothercare has nice unisex ones. Most of the ones I got Minimopsy are unisex so will do for this baby too! I also bought nearly all plain white vests and boys jeans which are actually just jeans without pink on! so they are actually unisex. In general boys sections have lots of bits you can use for girls too! But mothercare defs has some unisex bits for small babies.

CatFaceCrayola · 25/06/2014 09:25

Facebook has it's uses...posted a status asking recommendations for pregnancy support pillows, got 3 offers of different types I can have. One of them is bound to do the trick!

Off to 16week appointment

16+3

PolytheneGirl · 25/06/2014 09:52

I agree. Last time round we didn't find out and got the nicest unisex outfits from Mothercare, although I haven't looked yet this time around. I think someone bought is a nice one from BHS too.

We're not finding out this time either but I won't be buying too much before hand as I found that we got bought loads last time. I'll probably just get a few new sleep suits and vests and I'll probably need to get a snow suit but might leave this for DH or DM to do when baby has arrived.

Eek I'm getting a bit excited just writing this!

First consultant's appointment today.

15*1

PresidentSpreadable · 25/06/2014 10:17

I'm only buying stuff that's white or brightly coloured, no pastels and babygros are pretty unisex. My mum's knitting a little stripy jumper in green and ecru wool, it's too cute. I'm sure that we'll get given loads of hideous lovely pink stuff by relatives anyway if it's a girl.

H&M are good for cheery colours, boden also do a pack of 5 brightly coloured stripy babygros (bit spendy), John Lewis also do a pack of three bright sleepsuits.

PolytheneGirl · 25/06/2014 10:23

Also beware of buying too much too soon. Babies come in all different sizes and most shops have a time limit on exchanges.

We were lucky in a way that DS was on the small size so could grow into most things but it did mean sending DH out to the nearest shop to get some tiny baby sleep suits.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/06/2014 10:40

DrewsWife that's awful, your poor DP :( happy early birthday to your DD though!

I'm halfway through my week off already :( spoke to my mum last night and she said, "never mind, you'll be giving up work soon anyway". Er no, it's not 1985 anymore, mother. Much as I would adore being a SAHM, we can't afford it. She was a bit more helpful when I told her about my trouble with the doctor on Monday. She said I should call for the midwife today and ask for a call back to see if I can get a sooner appointment, or just some advice.

Ladylel · 25/06/2014 12:13

polythene my was having an examine/massagesqueeze and for a tiny bit of 'juice' literally not even a proper dribble, freaked me out so apart from look haven't done it since.

I was getting bad hip pain and turned out it was muscle related. Lots of stretches recommended also have found 'bone/joint' aches have eased tremendously as been taken omega 3 and seemed to have done the trick.

I do keep getting the odd sharp pain in my right side. Not often just if I change position too quickly or sit down funny. As per usually mainly putting all these sorta aches down to wind.

Not feeling 100% this morning, even last night was starting to feel urgh. Tired and lethargic, eating my dinner was a struggle, had to have a lay down. Got a low lying headache ATM just in the back ground of turning into a stonker so drinking plenty incase it's dehydration. Quite breathless today even before I got up, along with the light headedness that seems to go hand in hand. Argh gimme nap time any day! Lol

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/06/2014 12:34

Ladylel sorry you're feeling rubbish! I'm quite lethargic too but putting it down to the heat, my mood and being off work! Drinking lots is a great idea. When I'm off work I need reminding to top up my glass!

Hope everyone's alright.

LotsaTuddles · 25/06/2014 13:00

Ladylel, I feel like that too. Can feel a headache coming and it's going to be a bad one I can feel it.

DS has started only falling asleep during the day cuddled up to my boobs. He's never really been a booby baby but he has started prodding at them, trying to expose them to the world Blush and cuddling up to them. So I'm guessing that I'm making milk now. He's going to help them be leakey isn't he?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/06/2014 14:16

Hmmm. Well I phoned the doctors back and they can't get me an appointment with the midwife until 15th July (I have an appointment booked for 16th anyway). They said to phone the hospital midwives and if they told me to see the doctor, then they would make me a doctors appointment Hmm. I phoned the hospital and they told me to go straight to the labour ward. I said... But I'm not in labour... They said, yes but that's the quickest way of getting help. I'm sure they're going to be run ragged with women actually in labour or having emergencies so how is it going to look me turning up because I'm sad? I'm scared.
I'm pretty good at talking the talk when it comes to advising people on mental health issues, but I'm terrible at following my own advice. I just want someone to talk to - I don't want to cause a fuss or use resources that would be better used on someone else. Urgh.

CatFaceCrayola · 25/06/2014 16:56

Had my 16 week appointment.

Healthy heartbeat and all is well. :)

Had a student midwife, who was actually really great, especially when I burst out crying at her, she dealt with me really well and was very reassuring.

I've been given a phone number of a specific midwife who specialises in mental health and is apparently lovely. Have left her a voicemail...hope I hear back from her soon. peace I wonder if your area had a similar specialist??
